Good afternoon!!  Hope you really are doing fine on this glorious day.  I have a quick card to share and am working on some other things so I’m afraid this will be a short blurb.  It is a simple card and the more I look at the more it looks like a variation of yesterday.  Oh well, I think when I sat down, I had a lot on my mind – a yucky headache.  Just comforting to make my hands go through the movements sometimes . . . no worries.  I’m using one of the new releases from Our Daily Bread Designs called Porch – I love that vignette.

I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two as a decorative frill on the back of Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and topped it with Spellbinders Lacey Ovals.  As a crosswise element I added Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites and an element from Spellbinders Banner Basics One.  A little seam binding and pearls and I’m done :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Porch
Paper: K & Co., Coredinations,  Bazzill
Ink: Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites, Spellbinders Banner Basics One, pearls, seam binding, felt heart ($1 Bin Michaels)

Smooches, you all are fab!  See ya tomorrow!

What a beautiful card. Love the color combo’s – the pearl placements around the lacy oval, but I especially love how you stamped the wicker porch furniture stamp as kind of like a background, with the sentiment prominent over top. I love layering – whether it’s paper, or embellishments. I don’t know why I don’t layer stamps much. This gives me the incentive to experiment with that!. As always – thank you Becca for inspiring me once again.

    Take care!ReplyCancel

I really like this one too. On first look, it’s another strong, handsome card. On a second peek, all the little touches become apparent. They don’t dominate but add buckets of charm to the overall look. Very very nice.

Please go take whatever it is you take, aspirin, ibuprofen, or that other one that I can’t pronounce, nor spell. I hope you’ll feel like yourself very soon.ReplyCancel

Hi there blog friends!   I hope you had a marvelous Mother’s Day!  First things first, don’t forget that today is the last day to enter for the Girls Paperie blog candy found ——–>HERE.  I don’t know a cut off time, but I’ll be back with a winner some time tonight.  Otherwise, I’m back to kick off my new week with the Mojo Monday 190 Sketch.   Cool sketch as always and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate how this prepares me for the week.  It’s almost like the stretching you do before you start on your morning run — so this is the stretching and the run :-)  I’m using stamps from stampmaker extraordinaire – Claire, at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  Her designs are so well thought out and so darn clever – this card uses stamps from two different sets Very Vintage Labels No. 18 and Rescue Remedies.  Both of these are among my favorites, that is if there is such a thing as having a favorite – they’re all absolutely to die for!  Oh, did I mention that they match Spellbinders so all you do is stamp and cut?

I followed the sketch closely and layered a combination of Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and Spellbinders Labels Four instead of using a rectangle.  My ribbon crosses the front of the card but I also included Spellbinders Fleur de lis Accents border for interest.  I added some pearls and brads and lastly one from a set of Jolees hairpins.  I simply let the hairpin part attached to the flower – I think it gives the embellishment a special look.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – Very Vintage Labels No. 18, Rescue Remedies
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill
Ink: Versamark and Ivory Embossing Powder, Colorbox Chalk Ink – Chestnut Roan
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, Spellbinders Labels Four, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Accents, ribbon, pearls, Jolees Hair pin

Happy Monday!  See you tomorrow!

Becca you crack me up. Seems everyday you say “one of or among my favorites” and it always make me smile. I think everything in my craft room is one of ‘my favorites’ as well. If you ever have a poll asking what is your favorite (fill in the blank) I’ll be stumped. It would be as difficult as picking my favorite child.

    Hey Becca
I have a question for you. Why is it that when I get emails from your website I get the same card when I open the letter. For instance I hadn’t opened my mail for over a week so there were several there, when I opened several of the they were the Balm Of Friendship card. This happens all the time. Am I doing something wrong? I can go to the archives and find different cards but that takes a long time. I’d like to have a different one each day like I used to get before you changed the website. Can you help me out. Love all your cards but wish I didn’t have to search so hard to find them during the week.

Love it! It’s got a certain “je ne sais quoi” about it. I think the men in my life would like it too. It’s purposeful and handsome, rather than beautiful or fluffy. What I enjoy about your work is that you create in so many different modes. I get stuck (right now in fluffy) and can’t seem to escape when I want to. Recently I had to make a 65th b/d card for my d.h.. It wasn’t fun. Indeed, it was the most difficult thing in the world. I did it, but oh boy, did I sweat! But enough about me. Your card is fabulous. Thank you so much for giving us so many ideas to get our creative cylinders firing. You’re the best!ReplyCancel
