I ran into a friend of mine yesterday in Hobby Lobby and she asked me “Hey, which punch is it I need to make those flowers?”  Er . . . ah . . . I guess I forgot to to tell you . . . you don’t actually have to have that punch.  Now that punch makes a cute flower, but really, any border punch that completely separates away from the paper will do.  In other words, a self contained border – one that does not stay attached to the page. So this morning I decided to show you what I meant. I picked out four different punches, punched one strip, gathered (just like I show in my Ruffled Flower Tutorial) and it makes a quick and cute flower. Plunk down a button or something on top and you have a quick embellishment for your card. By the way, I’m sneak peeking here too!! These sentiments are all new releases that will be coming out with Our Daily Bread Designs tomorrow. You can see them in a blog hop bright and early tomorrow morning!

There are all 4 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches tall.  Perfect for oversized enclosure cards or a sweet treat to include in the box for a friend.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Mini Tags 1, Mini Tags 2, Mini Tags 3
Paper: Bazzill, Lasting Impressions
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Inks – Assorted
Accessories: Martha Stewart Border Punches – Double Loop, Bangle Chain, Linked, Diamond Fence Trim, Seam Binding, Buttons, Pearls,

Thanks for stopping by today.  I’ll see you tomorrow for the ODBD Blog Hop!!

How beautiful! I wondered if you could use a non-self contained border punch if you either trimmed the end away from the page or if you cut a strip and punched both sides (They’d have to match up top to bottom, I understand, so you would need to line them up just right so you could score them.)ReplyCancel

can you double check the names of these punches and list them with color card you made, so far I have only been able to find diamond fence(which doesn’t look like the right punch for this job) and the Bangle chain…which I am getting. No one knows the name of the yellow one at all and even on the martha stewart site there is no punch called “linked”.
    I would appreciate the info.

Hey, if you’d like a chance winning some design paper, scroll down to the next post or click —>HERE<—- to leave a comment!

Happy Friday Sweet Friends!!  I hope you have lots of R&R planned for the weekend.  I do have a new card to share today and in view of all the festivities, pomp and grandiosity of the day I thought I would dress up my card, so my card is donning a feather.  My daughter asked why I would make such a highfalutin card!  Over the past couple of days there has been so much talk of “fascinators” and feathers and such that, I thought, why not?  Feathers are kind of fun and you can’t get away with using them every day!  I’m using one of the April releases from JustRite Stampers called Signs of Life from their Cling Collection.  The sentiment was desgined to match Spellbinders Labels Three and It fits perfectly with enough room to layer it up :-)

My medallion is made from Spellbinders Parisian Motifs followed by Spellbinders Labels Three, Spellbinders Labels One SM, Spellbinders Labels One and finally one more layer of Spellbinders Three :-)  That’s about all for today.  I’m out the door to take care of some business – where in the world did the week go?

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Stampers – Signs of Life
Paper: My Minds Eye, Coredinations, Bazzill
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Chestnut Roan
Accessories: Spellbinders Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders Labels Three, Spellbinders Labels One SM, Spellbinders Labels One

Blessings to you all, I’ll see you soon!!

Last week I had splurged on the Floral Doily Motifs… so I’m hoping to get the Doily Accents to finish off that set if they still have them in stock next time I can go back. Becca, your daughter has it right! But besides ‘hi flalutin’, it’s also elegant and gorgeous! Sounds like your daughter is close by, where you get to see her & enjoy her a lot. I’m so happy for you, if that is so. And I hope she has inherited your wonderful gift of creativity, and the 2 of you can enjoy crafting together.

I’m whittling away at this stack of paper I have so,  I thought today was as good as any to insert a little blog candy.   Just leave a comment on this post and on Monday, May 2nd some time, I’ll pick a winner to send this to.  Feel free to leave a comment each day.  I purchased a lot of Prima paper, way more than I need so I’m sharing :-)  What I’ll send the winner is eleven double sided Prima papers from recent releases.  Someone recently had a question about where I send blog candy to and the answer is – if I’m lucky enough to have you as a reader, then you can win no matter where you live!!

Big hugs friends!  I’ll be back in the morning with something new!

    Hi Becca,
I visit your site several times during the day. I hate to say it but I have purchased so many spellbinder dies because of your card designs. You are the reason I am totally hooked on card making. My husband has been battling cancer so we have lived in Houston Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center from January until 2 weeks ago. I packed a suitcase with my cuttlebug, paper, dies etc. I was able to make many many cards during our stay; what a stress reliever. Thank you so much for starting me in this ministry.

    Becca,

The Prima paper would be wonderful to win, to play with, to design. Thanks for the opportunity. How kind of you to share and what a great way to use up the paper!

Whenever I do die cuts, I save the outlines and take them to a friend who is a child caregiver….the children love the scraps and outlines, spending many happy minutes and hours being creative….cannot bare to toss such wonderful paper….recycling is so much better with long range results of passing our art and crafts on!

Oh, wow! Such gorgeous paper! I’d give anything to win them as I’m in a situation of not having access to any of my craftroom things as they are in storage. Three months ago I moved to be closer to my aging parents, stored all my belongings in my daughter’s basement, and came with three suitcases. I have nothing to craft with here until I find a job and get my own place and am going through withdrawal. Once this happens I can bring my belongings and craftroom. So these papers would be a little something that I could use in the mean time. How I’m hoping! Thank you Becca.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

Just a quick note… Our daughter graduates from college tomorrow and I still have lots to do for that…..

I’m the manager or our softball team and tonight is the start of our new season. When it rains, it pours (and it has been a deluge the last couple of days). I have had cancellations of players for all sort of reasons for tonight (out of town, illness, sick child, apparently broken foot, etc.)
I have been BUSY trying to find subs and I’m still short, so need to make more calls….ReplyCancel

A friend sent me your link a few months ago and I can hardly wait to get home each day from work to see what you have done. I am a newby at cards. I have a few things and recently made a card I thought was good enought to send to my mom. She loved it. I am in the process of making her a Mother’s Day card to include with her Mother’s Day gift.
I said all that to say thank you for the wonderful work and tutorials you do.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to share your bounty. I’ve been working with women at a refugee center and doing card making with them in a newly established women’s craft room. There are women from the Congo, Honduras, Columbia, Afghanistan. It’s amazing that we can all share this love of a craft. The paper would be a great addition to the Center.ReplyCancel

I just stopped in to see what is happening on your blog today. You’ve made another beautiful card with the new releases from ODBD. The border-punch-layered-lace is so pretty. The card set from the day before, using the different punches to make the dimensional flowers was pretty cool. Who knew that you could do so much more with those punches than just a flat embellishment? Your tutorial on how to make the flower makes it look so easy. Your tutorials practically guarantee that the stores will be sold out of the punches if I try to go buy one, because everyone else will be on the hunt for them too. Ha-ha. In all seriousness, you do wonderful work, and I so enjoy visiting your blog, and seeing how you use products in different ways. Thanks so much for sharing your creative talent.ReplyCancel

Thanks for another chance to win. BTW I tried your ruffled paper flowers yesterday. The only border punch I have is a SU eyelet border. So I took a thin strip of paper and punched both long edges. It worked well – It is not as “lacy” as your flowers as the strips have only three small holes in each scallop but still nice – I could always punch a small heart or hole on each mountain fold of the strip to make it more lacy and open. Thanks for the tutorial – when I go to a craft camp at the end of May I might be able to borrow some other ladies punches and get other designs.ReplyCancel
