Hi there blog friends!! I have a sweet Blog Candy Add-on to share. By the way, today is the last day of my Clearance Blog Candy. And well yes, I got these buttons and jar on clearance, of course!!  Pop over to my post dated April 16 or click HERE to leave your comment and if you are the winner that is picked and if you’ve commented on that post today, you’ll get the buttons also. Also (fineprint :-) I have an extra set of buttons and jar – if you leave a comment here on this post between 6:00pm CST and midnight CST, today April 20th, I’ll send a set out to one person randomly picked out of the comments made between those hours. Why? Today is John’s Birthday and I feel like if I can give a little token to someone else, it will keep my spirits high. It might sound silly but anything to put one foot in front of the other and keep from sitting around dwelling on it. You all lift me up more than you could possibly know!

Oh, and what’s the Discovery??? After my post yesterday explaining about the Rhinestone Candle Base, a sweet reader found them!!!!!!!   Thanks go out to Theresa Bonetti who wrote me – I want to share her lovely email:

Subject: Amazing Paper Grace Contact: Candle Holder & Tonic Cutters

Message:

Hi Becca:

Along with sending this email about the subject matter, I also want you to know that you and your family have been in my daily prayers. My hardcopy prayer list seems to get longer everyday, no one is ever crossed off after I’ve added them.

I’m writing to tell you that I posted to your blog that I loved my Carl Rotary Cutter, but then I read what you wrote about the Tonic cutters. I took your advice and recently purchased the 12″ and the 8 1/2″. Now I see why you have them, they cut like a dream. Thank-you for sharing the info on them.

Also, I recently found your bling candle holders on this web site and I’ll leave it up to you whether you want to post the info. I have a feeling they will get flooded with orders. Here’s the link; http://www.save-on-crafts.com/diamondholder.html

Becca, thank-you so much for sharing your talent. Every day I look forward to seeing what you post new on your blog. May many more of God’s good blessings come to you and yours.

Warmest regards,

Theresa

I would never share Theresa’s email address but if you were one of the many, looking for the candle holder, please leave Theresa a little love here!!  I honestly thought it would be a tough item to find them since they have gone out of stock at Michaels.  If you all don’t know what I’m talking about – this is the Rhinestone platform that I use to display my cards.  It is a beautiful candle holder too but if your intent is to use it to display your cards too, please do so with my full encouragement!!

I am happy to pass this link along but please remember, I have not shopped with this vendor myself so I don’t know their habits.  If you have a great experience or otherwise, please be sure to let me know.  I’ll maintain the link as long as I don’t hear any adverse comments.

Sigh…is it any wonder why I love blogging?  What a wonder group of readers, really!!

She like I loves your site. Enjoy your day!!ReplyCancel

Becca, Thanks so much for all of your wonderful posts. I think that with all you h ave gone through, you are handling things better then most people would have. I also think that giving a gift on John’s b-day is a wonderful idea, and I think you for the chance to win.
With todayy being John’s day, I think you should celebrate the way you normally would have. wether it’s a piece of his fave b-day cake, or what you would have served as his fave meal especially for his b-day. People say or think that these are things you should put in the past so you can move on with life, but I personally think that it’s those types of things from the past that allows you to move on easier, because those are the things that have made you happiest, and there is nothing better then being happy to help heal.
Have a wonderful day Becca! Thinking of you,
    Sue OReplyCancel

    Becca,

Oh, how all the firsts are had to get through. First birthday, anniversary, Easter, etc. We try to to use those special days to remember how blessed we are. We lost our daughter at 28 and there is not a day that goes by that we don’t miss her. But we cling to the cross and the promises of our Lord and Savior and praise Him for allowing us to have her for 28 years. “It is Well with Our Soul.” Praying for you today.ReplyCancel

I am glad we can remember John today. I just finished giving away my version of your sachet holder and I’ve learned all about punches in my search for those you used. I also learned that making my own sachet pouches is a good idea. I found a local farm that provided me with real lavender buds and I sewed up some eyelet material pouches, added ribbon to those, and stuck them inside the card pockets. For the pocket card I used some very stiff older SEI pastel flowered papers that were perfect for Easter. Thank you so very much! The recipient was thrilled!ReplyCancel

Becca, such an inspiration to so many of us, I agree if it’s not to hard to do or eat something that you would of done for your dear John on his Birthday, I always do something special on my loved ones Birthday that are now watching over us and keeping us safe for me it makes “me” feel better sometimes no one even knows but me, I write a letter to our son every year on his birthday (22 years now) and treat myself to a speacial momement even if it’s just an hour at the coffee shop sitting and writting .I also share my talent by giving cards and “tray mats” for the childrens hospital to cheer them up. I think its such an Honor to share with others and you loved by so many here in blog land. your site has helped me though some tough times just last week when my son was in a car crash . your always in my thoughts and prayers . I went to the link to save on crafts and would love to hear thoughts on this site, I found the Bird Cages my daughter is looking for to use at her wedding they seem to have some wonderful things at a fair price.ReplyCancel

I know there’s a space in your heart that only he filled, and I know that God will supply all your needs. You sure have been popular these evening hours. Sure hope you are on the same time as I am. Though I posted earlier today because I really didn’t want to wait to let you know I was praying for you today, I am now posting with the hopes of more buttons!! One can never have enough buttons. Hope your day went well and you realize that you are surrounded by a whole internet of people who truly care about (and not just buttons).ReplyCancel

Almost forgot about the time! I ordered the Tonic cutters after your post about them and they finally arrived! I LOVE THEM. It’s amazing how much more quickly I can put a card together when I don’t have to make multiple cuts just to try to get a straight, right angle–not to mention less paper waste. Thanks for all the tips!ReplyCancel

Bloggers restore your faith in humanity sometimes don’t they? What a wonderful family we all are! I am regualrly suppoted by a friend in Christ that I met from a stint on a DT and I cherish her friendship and prayers. I ADORE buttons – takes me back to mu childhood when we would play with my mother’s button tin – the one she still has today! Although I’ve raided the best buttons from it LOL! The jar is equally adorable too – way, way cute. HugsReplyCancel

    orders from them.

My thoughts are with you on this special day. I don’t remember or dwell on the days when I have lost people I love, but I still honour their birthdays. It may be as simple as a prayer and moments of reflection or laying flowers at a headstone. It doesn’t matter what you do, it’s simply the fact that we keep them in our hearts.
God bless you and thank you for sharing! :) {{{Hugs}}}ReplyCancel

Have you told me about your best clearance story? If not, scroll down to my blog candy on the post dated April 16th or click HERE.

Yikes, I got a little bit sidetracked today but still wanted to post my card.  I love a cream and taupe color scheme and I chose to highlight a great verse from Quietfire Design called A Journey of A Thousand Miles.  It was not the card that I had in mind when I sat down, but that’s the way things normally go for me – I come out with something totally different.

On my bottom layer of this card I cut/embossed two Spellbinders Labels Twenty.  I’m amazed at how often I reach for this die template because I never would have guess it to end up in my oft used column, lol!!  For the next layer I ran a strip of paper which I bordered with the positive and negative cuts from Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents.  Lastly I stamped my sentiment on Spellbinders Labels Seventeen.  This is a little bit different from my usual but it’s good to do different, might have to try this again :-)  Hope you doing good today, I’m still busy trying to unpack – although my trip was short I brought stuff back.  I got to go to IKEA – which if you didn’t know, is practically my favorite store in the entire world!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – A Journey of A Thousand Miles
Paper: Die Cuts With A View, Coredinations
Ink: Colorbox Pigment Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Twenty, Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents, Spellbinders Labels Seventeen, EK Success Border Punch, Pearls, Ribbon, Prima Sequin Center

Friends, I think you are amazing!!  I’ll see you soon!!

. . . I have answers :-)  It has been so busy in recent weeks that I’ve rushed through some of my posts and in my haste have left out some important details.  That doesn’t get me off the hook because the questions usually show up in my always overflowing email box, lol!!  I thought I would back up for a minute and clarify some of the glaring omissions I made because I’m still getting emails asking for a brand name or such.  And of course there are some questions I get all the time, so I thought I would include them in this post as well!

Several of you asked about the embossing folder used to make this card:

It is a Sizzix embossing folder from the Flourish, Dots and Ribbon Set.

Several of you asked about the embossing folder used in this card also:

It is a Sizzix embossing folder called Corners and Damask Lattice Set.

There have been many recent questions asking where to get this stand, the rhinestone display.  It is a candle holder and was sold at Michaels last year some time during their Christmas Displays.  I don’t think they still carry it in stock but  I have seen other candle holders at Hobby Lobby that would function in the same way.
Although this card was made some time ago, I still get questions about the punch used.  It was an EK Success Border Punch – Embossed Curve (EK-EKPL8030).  You can see the original post HERE, and you can see the Becca Bit on how it is made HERE.

That does it for getting caught up!!  I hope this answers your recent questions – if you had one.  I’m working of stuff in the background and hope to be back later with something to show :-)

Thanks Beca, I have often admired your sense of design and wondered how you were able to set the cards up in such a nice easel. LOL it wasn’t an easel at all but a candle holder. You are a frugal lady.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca: Thank you for today’s information. You are so kind to take the time to share your talent. When you have a few minutes please let us know how to make the gorgeous bow on the “Because I Love You” card. Take care, Jean.ReplyCancel

Thanks for letting us know the names of the embossing folders used in those cards. I didn’t realize you used embossing folders and chalked it up to how clever you are. And I love the butterfly card. My favorite stamp has the quote, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was coming to an end it became a butterfly.” Thanks a million.ReplyCancel

Becca, for anyone looking for the Tonic paper cutters, Joanne’s had them online at a fraction of the cost in other places. I now have the 12 x 12 and the 12 x 6 and am hoping for straighter cuts. I love the removable handles – makes it easier to find a spot for them. Your site is going to send me to the poorhouse! I’m now hooked on JustRite stamps, Our Daily Bread items, etc. :)ReplyCancel

I think you do beautiful cards and items. I do have one complaint though and it has to do with the stand/candle holder. I think the holder in and of itself is beautiful but it always distracts me from you work. I prefer when you display the items with out it and then I am not distracted. I am probably the only one but I have been wanting to mention this ever since you stated using it. I just love your work and just think it actually takes away from it. Just my opinion.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca:
Question: I am looking for the Corners and Damask embossing folder. And the one that is coming up is not the same design. This question is for anyone who may know the answer. Thanks

    Love all these cards Becca!ReplyCancel

And I feel just the opposite about the stand. I love it! From the first time you started using it. In fact I have been looking for one similar to it. I think it adds to the elegance of the picture. Just my opinion!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I love those cards! And I must say: I love the holder you use. It is so elegant. I think it adds something special to the picture you take. I have been looking for one ever since you started using it. I love it.

Also, the embossing folder you mention is actually the Corners and Lattice Set by Sizzix. I found the Corners and Damask and realized it was not the same design. So I hunted and found the one you use. Gorgeous! Thanks so much!ReplyCancel
