Oh blog friends, I have a new poll posted; it’s bound to make you smile.  So many times you’ll leave a comment that this was a hard one to answer . . . well, this one may be a hard one to answer.  It was inspired by the question that’s currently being asked on the Girls Paperie Blog Candy about the tool that’s at the top of your wish list!!  Oh my, the answers coming in run the gamut.  So chew on this one for a minute – you know there’s really nothing scientific about all of this, it’s just plain fun.  This happens to me from time to time – a little fun money that is – and then I’m paralyzed for weeks trying to make the right decision because this is a once in a blue moon thing!!  Remember to leave me an email through my contact page if there’s a poll you’d like to see.

Oh yes, speaking of the Girls Paperie Blog Candy – only a day or two left – did you leave your comment?  Click on this word ——>>>>Blog Candy Post<<<<——— to go there and enter to win.

I’ll be back tomorrow with something to share!

Oh my, that was definitely a toss up between Copics and new die cuts.ReplyCancel

  • heaneyApril 4, 2011 - 3:08 am

a tough choice! Normally, I would spend some on dies and some on card stock or designer paper. Can’t live without both. I just won a $20 gift voucher to an online craft shop, so this particular question is bugging my head now (… a happy bug though..lol).ReplyCancel

  • Debbi (UK)April 4, 2011 - 3:28 am

Boy, that was hard. Went for Die Cuts in the end, but to be honest, I probably would have got a bit from each…lol! :)ReplyCancel

  • Mary HarrisApril 4, 2011 - 3:29 am

Well this one is easy for me since I have my eye on a new die cut that is coming out!!!ReplyCancel

  • Barb TraceyApril 4, 2011 - 3:32 am

Indeed a challenge! $90 to spend guilt-free. Hmmm… Core crafting tools for me, tho after crafting for a number of decades I do have most of the ones I’ve lusted after. But they always seem to come up with something new that calls my name. Come to think of it, perhaps that $90 should be the seed money towards saving to expand my crafts room!ReplyCancel

  • pegApril 4, 2011 - 3:34 am

Needed a option for “all of the above”ReplyCancel

  • MaryannApril 4, 2011 - 3:48 am

PHEW this one was really tuff, as I would so love to get some of all of it he he he. There´s sooo many awesome things outthere, that I want so badly and never enough money to get, what I want LOL, so it´s always the same every time, what do you want most ha ha ha. I ended with the dies, as they´re the most expensive, and it´s easier to buy a few embellisment or pieces of ribbon now and then than to buy a lot of diws, so that´s why I chose them, but I would LOVE some of all of these things mentioned and even more he he he.
Have a great day dear friends.ReplyCancel

  • BernieApril 4, 2011 - 4:14 am

This was actually easy for me. I said Core Crafter Tools which for me would be a Cuttlebug.

I said Die Cut templates since I do not have any of the new Spellbinder sets, and none on pre-order.
I have more than $90 worth of sets on my wish list LOL
However, my craft budget tells me I need to be patient so I can buy them with a coupon or at a large discount and free shipping from an on-line business.ReplyCancel

Tough decision…almost impossible to resist new stamps, but I think my paper/cardstock stash is needing some restocking! What a great question!ReplyCancel

  • Ellen ? CardMonkeyApril 4, 2011 - 6:37 am

Needed a place to click “all of the above.” I’d wait until I had a coupon or two or more … 25% your entire purchase …. 50% off one item only … Shop a variety of stores to make that $90 more like $160. Then I’d buy some Copic markers, some dies, some paper, some embellies, etc.

On Saturday I went on a spree at Michael’s just like this. Wound up with 2 bags full of all sorts of goodies, and it was just $60. Some of the items I purchased had been seriously marked down (90% off) and then take 25% off of total purchase. I got some of the cutest journals for embellishing later for just $.07 … that’s right 7 cents!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Peggy McCurryApril 4, 2011 - 6:49 am

  • Cheryl LApril 4, 2011 - 7:27 am

I had to laugh when I saw the new poll. Four days ago I actually did have $90 to spend on crafts. At first I thought I was buying stamps, so I went on-line, put them in my cart, and just before I committed to the buy, I backed out and started searching the web to make sure it was what I REALLY wanted. I started by looking at different companies that I’ve seen highlighted on blogs to pick just the right stamps, but of course, that led to checking out new Spellbinders dies, which led to paper, ink, tools, etc. Yesterday, after three agonizing days of indecision, I finally settled on stamps (from a different company than my original choice) and a Distrezz-It-All. I was satisfied for about 15 minutes, then started re-thinking everything, wondering if I should have bought something else! Am I crazy, or it is that hard for everyone??? ;)ReplyCancel

  • Nadine BaileyApril 4, 2011 - 7:33 am

No contest in my choice. Die cut plates. Then papers. I get excited just looking at the shapes of the dies and the papers….well I can go crazy over the papers.ReplyCancel

  • Lynne IngramApril 4, 2011 - 7:40 am

New Spellbinders dies with Heartfelt matching stamps, an easy choice for me. There seem to be a number of other companies coming out with stamps that go with the Nesties as well so I would add that to my top list. I am going to the Heirloom Allentown, PA fair this weekend with my $100 so this question is looming large right now to see how far I can make it stretch and still get what I think I am looking for. Bound to be things there I can’t live without that are not listed above.ReplyCancel

  • SandyApril 4, 2011 - 7:50 am

Easy Choice… Spellbinders newer dies. Need way more to layer them like you do to make beautiful cards!!!!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • BonnieApril 4, 2011 - 7:50 am

My three go to’s are Spellbinders, Justrite Stamps and Heartfelt Creations. But then again I LOVE paper, enbellies, ribbon, and bling!!! O my,this is really hard on the brain. Guess it’s kinda like a kid in a candy or toy store. Do we EVER grow up? Sometimes I just have to pull back and think about what is really important. Yes, I have taken things out of my cart more than once ( even items that have been a “good deal”). It really is so easy to get caught up in thinking I need more and forgetting about some of what I already have and thought I needed at the time. It is so hard to keep balance.ReplyCancel

  • LynneApril 4, 2011 - 7:55 am

Ah Becca this is certainly a hard choice!! It has to be the dies for me as so many old and new ones I would love. Parisian I think after seeing your lovely cards.
Mind you if I were in a shop and perhaps there were some of the other choices
    on the shelves, well erm!!ReplyCancel

  • Francie (Montreal)April 4, 2011 - 8:03 am

Hmmm…. you ask very tough questions, young lady! I agree with Peg’s comment, an “all of the above” option would have been most helpful. After a bit of thought, I ticked of die cuts. They can be a bit pricey so I thought my $90 would be best spent there. The paper and so on would come out of the food budget.ReplyCancel

  • MarionApril 4, 2011 - 8:09 am

This wasn’t so hard since I have a copious supply of the other items and am trying to work within the supplies I own. However, there are so many new dies I want I would only have a hard time deciding which ones I want first.ReplyCancel

  • JanaApril 4, 2011 - 8:12 am

    Definantly new die cuts!!ReplyCancel

  • DawnApril 4, 2011 - 8:12 am

I chose none of the above.
Right now there is a new cricut cartridge coming out I’d like(elegant edges)
and I’d like another rolling file for 12 x12 papers.
Otherwise, paper and embellishments are great too!

Funny this question came up on your blog this morning.Just last night I had $199. on a wish list at the Spellbinders site. Many of the new dies were already sold out but manage to find others I would love to have. I said to my hubby what the balance would be if I went for it and he just looked at me. Needless to say, these are still on my wish list. The creative book pages would be top of the list and I would still have $ left over. Have a great Monday Becca.ReplyCancel

  • Mary JaneApril 4, 2011 - 8:27 am

When I see what Becca does with the Spellbinders dies, I would like to have all of them and, of course, I simply cannot afford them all. So $90 would really cover a bunch of them. Definitely an easy choice for me.ReplyCancel

  • Becky GreenApril 4, 2011 - 8:32 am

Hi Becca! Well, I answered your poll—- I DID say, the other day, that I would buy die cuts, but I ALWAYS revert back to stamps!!!!!!! WHY DO I DO THAT???? When I could REALLY use those dies!!!!!!!!!! I see those images & I just CAN’T RESIST!!!!! Thinking they could be used on SO MANY THINGS! FORGETTING, dies can too!!! But, I DO HATE the way I have to keep buying those plates for my cuddlebug!!!!!!! ESPECIALLY, when there isn’t a place close by to get them!!!!!!!! I’m just going to HAVE TO DISCIPLINE myself!!!!!!!!! THINK ONLY DIES, THINK ONLY DIES!!!!!!!! :)ReplyCancel

I went with the Core Crafter Tools. I’m trying to decide between the Grand Calibur and the Silhouette SD. Both pricy but I would love to push a button and have those wonderful box templates cut out for me from my computer. And the Grand Cailbur cuts so many dies at one time!ReplyCancel

  • yogiApril 4, 2011 - 9:00 am

this is not an easy question. Although I’ve recently gotten some of my wish tools like a Big Shot Pro, an airbrush and compressor, and I’m not counting all the dies, templates and stuff I have and want more of… and since I’m also a bookbinder and have problems cutting stacks of paper – straight and through a thick pile with any of my cutting tools at the moment – I would love a guillotine cutter. Of course I have no room for one… So maybe a HUGE craft room could be considered a tool??ReplyCancel

  • Naomi A. of ColoradoApril 4, 2011 - 10:31 am

I have to say, this actually happens often in my husband giving me “extra money” and says, ” and that is for you to do with what you want.! Not for the kids or the house!” “Did you hear?” The first thing I do is go buy cartridges on my list for my cricut or adhesives…I have plenty of the other stuff right now! Paper would be next on my list…girl cannot have enough paper – second to diamonds!

  • Judy HApril 4, 2011 - 2:40 pm

I’ve been drooling for several new dies and $90 would barely touch the surface. I’ve become obsessive with all the companies that have matching stamps and custom dies. Wow. I can make a lot of my stamps work but those new shapes are too nice.

I think of you often and you inspire me with your courage. I found your blog just as you lost your husband. My husband has advanced dementia and I was introduced to card making right after he was diagnosed. I do really tend to become obsessive about my tools. I start with quilling, then punch art flowers with stamping always as part of it. I have over 350 punches; you need several sizes for each one, right? But dies are easier and quieter so now I want more and more of them. But as I try to control myself and not bankrupt us with crafting candy, I thank our Father for my many blessings and cherish each day my husband remains with me and for the examples of others. Thank you.ReplyCancel

I am going to do this again. I was the first one, according to the counter on the poll, to select. But my comment didn’t show up. I love everything, but I answered stamps. On second thought, what I would really love to have is an electronic die cutter that would cut everything from the sizzix grand caliber, bigz, cuttlebug folders, and to the smaller spellbinders. My hands have a hard time grasping the handle if I have several things to cut out. Thanks for having the polls. Welcome to the Quietfire Design Spring Blog Hop!

Quietfire Design is celebrating the honor of being chosen as a Preferred Stamp Partner with Spellbinders™ Paper Arts!  All of the Design Team was over the moon with the news and so, here we are to celebrate!!  Over the coming months you’ll have to keep an eye out for new stamps designed to match those wonderful Spellbinders dies.  The celebration includes a week long look at some of the truly elegant stamps that Quietfire is known for.  Suzanne pens all the sentiments by hand.  Her flourishes and pen strokes are amazing,  I’m simply tickled to pieces for her :-)

Here’s How to Win:
Each day a different Quietfire Designer will post their amazing creations combining Quietfire rubber stamps and Spellbinders products in a blog entry (days and links to each blog below).  Simply comment on their Quietfire Blog Hop post by midnight EST and you will be eligible to be chosen in a daily random draw.

Prizes:
Every day a lucky participant will win one of the Quietfire Rubber stamps used that day plus Suzanne’s choice of Spellbinders™ die!  The prizes will be sent out directly from Quietfire Design.

Deadlines:
The deadline for commenting on this prize is Midnight EST on Sunday, April 3rd.  The winner for this prize will be announced here on my blog on Monday, April 4th.  The winner will claim their prize by reaching out to me though the Contact tab at the top of my blog within 48 hours.  After 48 hours, we’ll draw another name!

I selected a new stamp that I haven’t shown yet called What You Leave Behind.  Although it can be used as a sympathy sentiment I think I’m more prone to use it in my scrapbooking and as a reminder that legacy building begins while you are here – that’s what it means to me anyways.   It’s a beautifully penned sentiment.   I picked some distressed looking papers from My Minds Eye that had a punch of red glitter and created a frame using Spellbinders Labels Sixteen and Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares.  The remainder of the card is built on a base of Spellbinders Grand Large Labels and Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – What You Leave Behind
Paper: My Minds Eye, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Large Labels, Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven, Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Paper Studio Brad, Ribbon, Lace, Recollections Gems, clear embossing powder
