Hi there friends!!!  I loved working up this tutorial – it’s easy and I think it makes pretty flowers.    All you need is some Scor-Tape and some other goodies you probably have laying around your studio.   I hope you’ll give it a whirl and let me know what you think!  You can change the look of your flowers by using more or less ribbon and by wrapping tighter or looser.  Oh the possibilities.  You’ll see more of these in the coming days as this is something I’ve been experimenting with for some time and will continue I’m sure, lol!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  I’ll see you soon!!!

Hi there blog friends.  I ran out of steam yesterday and got up early this morning to do some creating.  I put together a card so that I could show you the new flower that I’ve made into a tutorial.  It was fun, I’ve been experimenting around with these flowers for quite some time and I think they’ll be easy to do when I’m in a pinch and need something for a card.  I have to tell you, I’m loving this flower and am trying it out with several different widths of ribbon,   The tutorial has already been taped and when I get home from my Stamp Club Meeting this afternoon, I’ll put it finish editing it and I’ll upload it here.

I cut a pretty simple medallion using Spellbinders Grand Ovals and Spellbinders Labels Eighteen which I grounded on a cross panel made using Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites and EK Success Abstract Flower Punch.  It’s not quite as many layers as I accustomed to but it worked up quickly.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Printworks
Paper: The Girls Paperie, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Accessories:
Spellbinders Grand Ovals, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Borders Petite, EK Success Abstract Flower Punch, Ribbon, Pearls

Remember to pop back in and see how easy the flower is to make when the tutorial is published this afternoon!  Thank you all — your kindness keeps me inspired enough to sit down and craft :-)

    Becca,
What a really, really pretty card. It is just so delicate and is such a beautiful pink and cream color combination with a bit of white. To me the design and colors of this card signify real caring and love from the person who is giving it to their special friend, a spouse, their mother, etc. It is just down right gorgeous.
I especially like the Spellbinders Labels 18 die cut / embossed piece that you chose for the sentiment as this label die does not have a whole lot of distracting points on it for this particular card’s use further it sits really nicely on the cream colored Grand Oval die cut / embossed piece and you then placed them above the border of ribbon and the die cut and punched pieces in pink and white with those pretty white pearls on it. You have put all of this work together on a perfect choice of absolutely beautifully designed and colored patterned paper and all I can say is that it may not have all the layers that you are so used to creating with but can I make believe that I am sick so you can send it to me as a get well card?

This brings back some memories. We made these back in my gymnastic days. We used sasheen ribbon (the kind that stuck to itself when moistened) and these were placed on the first place team ribbons. I haven’t seen that type of ribbon in years. Thanks for the how-to and the stroll down memory lane. All of the double sided tapes sure make crafting a lot easier these days.

I found your blog about a month ago and have checked in and out as I had time. I love your creativity and engineering skills, but more than that, I love your generous spirit and teaching ability. Not only do I see you as creative inpiration, but also as a sort of spiritual advisor. You see I am caring for my parents who are in their 80’s and started to feel the burden. I had given up on making my lampwork beads and polymer clay as it was too much time away from where I needed to be. My sister had inspired me to make a few cards but it wasn’t until I found your blog that I fell in love with the colors and textures and dimension that are possible with paper, glue and ribbon. I am also so sorry to hear of your recent loss and wish to offer my condolences. I am praying for you and your family. Thank you.

Hi there blog friends.  Don’t forget to scroll down to the post I had on March 23rd with the Scor-Buddy blog candy and leave a comment.  It’s winding down and comments will be taken until noon this coming Saturday.  Hard to believe how fast this week went – it’s already Friday!?!  I’ve been working on a tutorial that I may have up this evening and I’m kinda excited about the new technique it covers.  I had to set it aside for a short while to work on this card but with luck I’ll get it finished and posted.  My card today uses the scripture stamp that I submitted for ODBD 3rd Anniversary from Scripture Set #6.

I pulled Spellbinders Fanciful Flight set with these enchanting little butterflies.  I cut them once from design paper and two times from vellum and added them as a 3D embellishment.   I mounted the butterflies on Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles LG and Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles SM and sentiments on Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles LG and Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles SM.  I just love the deckle edges and I just kick myself that I don’t use them more often because they are simply elegant and they look so nice when the edges are distressed.

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Scripture Collection #6
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill, Vellum
Ink: Colorbox Pigment – Olive, Vintage Photo Distressed Ink
Accessories:
Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles LG, Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles SM, Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles LG, Spellbinders Deckled Mega Rectangles SM, Ribbon, pearls

I’m so blessed that you stopped by.  I hope you are gearing up for a fabulous weekend!!

I couldn’t agree with you more Becca about the Deckeled edges. I used to have all sorts of sissors with decorative cuts. The only one I ever used was the deckeled ones. So that’s the only one I’ve kept. I use them often to cut out the sendiment for a card, then I can layer it as much or as little as I’d like. And I don’t have to worry aout the measurements. I just trim around it with my scissors. Thanks for sharing this beautiful card. I love the scripture especially.

Hi Becca, Well today I needed to make a bow and decided to bite the bullet and do it properly, so I copied your ribbon board. It took me a total of 10 minutes to make and to use it to tie my bow. I have RA and it is very difficult for me to tie pretty bows without five hands- hehe. Well, your hand made tool (bow assistant) worked smashingly!!!! Thank you very much for sharing it and your wonderful techniques! May Jesus continue to Bless Us with You!
