Hi there Blog Friends!!  Better late than never, right?  I piddled around in my craft room and got off on a small organizing tangent before I steered myself back to make a card.  I’m sure that happens to you.  If I’m not careful, I wind up spending the whole day organizing and then have nothing to show for the day.   This beautiful medallion stamp is one I purchased from Rubbernecker.  It’s a one layer stamp, but I thought it would look stunning if I cut it apart and tiered it.  There are no set lines to do this on, but I pulled out all my Spellbinders Octogons and laid them on top to estimate a good cutting area then made two interior cuts.  It worked out perfectly with the octagons.

I added the frilly border around the octagon using Spellbinders Fancy Tags two.   I added border along the bottom of my focal panel and also the card.   For the sentiment I used the forked pieces of the two Spellbinders Nested Pennants set – they layer together just right.   There was certainly not much room left for anything else, lol, so I add a small bow and pearls!  I promise this is not a Christmas card but I suppose if I squinted and had the right sentiment, I could make it into one.  I just love these colors together, they were my inspiration.  Well, that’s it for me today!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Rubbernecker, Sentiment – Printworks
Paper:  The Paper Company
Ink: Versamark, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Large Octagons, Spellbinders Small Octagons, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Spellbinders Lacey Nested Pennants, Ivory Embossing Powder, Pearls, Seam Binding, EK Success Border Punch, Martha Stewart Border Punch

Smooches!!  I’ll see you tomorrow!!

I’d like to think that one day my cards will improve. For now, I am grateful for your daily inspiration and consistent creativity. Thank you for sticking with it and being so disciplined. :)ReplyCancel

Another beautiful creation, Becca! I know you have a lot of supplies to choose from (so do I) but do you have any way of explaining how you choose your elements? Probably no more so than a cook can write a recipe for something that she makes using a dab of this, a tad of that and a pinch of the other. I guess the word ‘creativity’ envelopes it all pretty well. And you’ve got it ALL! Thanks for sharing it with us. BTW, I also enjoy your daily “Amazing Quotes.”ReplyCancel

I must say though (and I hope no offence is taken), as I was reading your intro to your Celebrate card I nearly choked on my cup of tea when you said you were “piddling around your craft room” – here in Australia it means something all together different – it means to urinate lol !!!! I hear you!!! That happened to me this week. My husband asked “Could you make a thank you card?”. I managed to make QUITE a mess and then got on an organizing binge instead. I DID eventually make the card and several others that turned out amazing, but I was on quite the odyssey there and ended up spending MANY more hours on it this week than I had been planning. As a result, I neglected to work on other things that I had planned, but I was happy with the crafting progress I made.ReplyCancel

Oddly… the same thing happened to me yesterday! lol I was trying to put a deadline on something, and it went horribly awry when I couldn’t find something I wanted to use! So I started to re-organize things. Before I knew it, it was 10pm! So I started to clean up (I hate leaving a cluttered space!), when I remembered the project I was working on. So I got everything together for it, and put it in a gallon sized clear bag. So it’ll all be together today when I get back to my table.

Ok… off on a tangent! I love this card. I’m a bit confused about whether you cut your stamp, or it’s image? But either way, it’s absolutely gorgeous! And that little ribbon is perfect! TFSReplyCancel

Hi Becca – As a relatively new Becca-follower, I’m wonder about a couple of things. Where do you get your lovely seam binding? Also, you rarely give the finished card dimensions. That would help me in putting porportions in perspective. Sometimes a photo angle distorts. . . thanksReplyCancel

  • Joanna JohnsonMarch 9, 2011 - 4:31 pm

What’s your favorite glue, do you like clear or cling stamps, what your favorite stamping style, what do you tend to hoard the most, who’s your greatest crafting influence, how many hours a day do you spend stamping, how long do you spend on one card???? I tell ya . . . my curiosity got the best o’ me. I’ve been tinkering around with this feature for a while and ready or not, I’m rolling it out. (Keeping fingers crossed that it has no adverse affects, but the only way to know is to try :-))

Amazing Weekly Polls come to Amazing Paper Grace, because inquiring minds want to know, lol!! Well maybe really, it’s me that wants to know but I know you all are always interested in what your fellow crafters like too! So every Monday I’ll post a new poll with these pressing questions that will run through the following Sunday night. Embarking on this blog has brought fellow crafters into my den with me every day. You all share what you like and what you don’t like all the time, so I thought this would be a rather fun venture. Now of course I’ll be asking questions that help me understand what you like best about the cards and projects I create, but with the poll being a weekly event, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask other burning questions about crafts in general.

Take a peek down the sidebar on the right hand side. I already have the first poll out (I’m a couple of days early) but that’s because I was so excited about this that I could not wait until Monday. As you visit me I’d love it if you voted one time during the week. No obligation to vote, the information is anonymous and stays here on my blog and the subject matter is limited to crafting. So what do you say, has your curiosity got the best of you?? If you have anything you’d like to see as a poll question, feel free to leave a comment!

I’ll be back later on with a card or something to share :-)

I use all kind of glues- depending on the media, so i like them all. I love the wood mounted stamps because they last longer over time and i remove them off the blocks and store them remounted into CD cases and number them, then i have a referance book with each stamped image and the number with it. I spend about 6-8 hours on one card because i have a card ministry where i make cards for those in need of some serious encouragement, so i make litteraly ALL of my embellishments; I recentley made a 22 shot gun about 3 inches long out of thin cardboard and scrap gold paper from inside an express gold card application i got in the mail, it was for a man on a hunting card. It looked like a store bought embellishment ! way personal and cool . I collect things that are not perishable, mainly punches and rubber stamps.I have 2,551 stamps- none are duplicates !ReplyCancel

I’m really interested in your questions, and the poll results!

My burning question: how many of your readers create and make greeting cards for sale in a store or stores, or on-line. I sell at a wonderful shoppe in a high income area, love it, and wish I knew how many others do this….that’s it.ReplyCancel

  • DanaMarch 5, 2011 - 2:09 pm

Becca I LOVE Tombow glue with the green cap. I find it does not warp the paper and has a quick set time. Just a little goes a very long way with this glue and it has a dual end. LOVE IT! The clear version is fine on heavy cardstock but it will wrinkle lighter designer paper.

Any stamp is my best friend! But I tend to riped the red rubber stamps off the wood blocks and use tack it over and over again glue. I then keep them on those plastic pge protectors from the dollar store then store them in CTMH plastic evelopes with the snap closures.

I hoard paper, glue and punches! I’m just an addict when it comes to the paper crafting products.

Your the best! Please keep up all the great work and Love your style!ReplyCancel

I recently stumbled across your site, and was prompted to look around a bit just because your web pages were so appealing to me. I’ve returned several times now because I so appreciate your creative eye and seemingly effortless ability to combine elements… the papers, the ribbons, the spellbinders (!), the embellishments, the stamps, the colors. You do such gorgeous creations. I quite happily spent quite a bit of time just last night catching up reading the 31 days posts for February & March… picked up a few wonderful tips (sharpen scissors by cutting eggshells… genius! Someone’s grandmother passed along a real gem there.) I eagerly look forward to seeing the results of the surveys as they are revealed. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.ReplyCancel

I absolutely love the cards you make. Everytime I get your email I’m completely blown away by what you do. Where do you get all your ideas. You must have lots of stamps, die cutting tools etc that help you with your card making. I on the other hand don’t but what you do does give me ideas on how to use some of the ones I do own. After seeing how you turned the oval with cut out scallops into a flower in your card. I printed the picture off to show a freind who agreed with me that we would never have thought of doing that. You just keep on doing what you do and I will contunue to be amazed and loving all your work. You rock my world daily.

You offer calm simple easy to follow directions and I love that about you. You seem to be in your zone when you share and I love that very much.
I appreciate the Christian scripture and sayings you find and you are a wonderful paper layer expert. My cards are not at all like yours and I am drawn to them because they are so different. Little by little you have encouraged me to consider bling with my cards in a most classy way.

Truly Becca, there are so many blogs that I frequent but yours and one other have been my favorites for a couple of years now. Your artwork is so beautifully done and so inspiring. I am not able to do a lot of my cardmaking right now because of taking care of Bruce, plus we are in the process of moving. BUT, believe me, when I get my craft room set up at the new house, I will be using your blog for inspiration to make my cards. Thanks for showing us all such beautiful work.ReplyCancel

  • Tanja S.March 5, 2011 - 9:08 pm

What a great idea, I am curious too Becca. Maybe How much money do you spend in consumables per card? ( I know it is a little hard to quantify, it might be better for a comment for blog candy type question) What about whether the people tend to use clear/unmounted stamps more than wooden stamps? Once you start thinking of questions more and more pop up in your mind!ReplyCancel

Curiosity killed the cat so they say, but not an artisan…LOL.
I did vote and I am always uplifted with the spiritual quotes and the wonderful talent you display each day. I can’t be inspired for a new card each day so I hurry to enjoy yours.
Now for the question about glues….I love Elmer’s all purpose for paper layers…the snail double-sided hand helds for cardstock and the tearable tape for my embroidered card fronts and also when gluing ribbon and the like. I do use many mounting tabs. I am anxious to see what others use.

Becca, your creativity is what I enjoy most, you bring things together with magical effects. But can I ask a question here, in this comment, pardon me if I put it in the wrong place. Would you treat your new stamps, especially clear stamps, and those is silhouette type of stamps before you first using them? I have a big problem with this area, it turns out very bad. Thanks for letting me talk about my frustration.ReplyCancel

  • ColoradoMarch 6, 2011 - 12:37 pm

Hi Becca! I had to leave a comment even though I just voted in your poll. While I LOVE the stamps you use that either have Scripture verses or inspirational quotes, I must say that I visit your blog to see your cards and how you put together the various elements. You do things with Spellbinders dies that I have seen very few others do and while I never seem to take the time to play around with my Spellbinders and be more adventurous I keep hoping that just a touch of your creativity will rub off on me if I look at enough of your card!!! I make cards and mail tthem to people who need encouragement. I tried to sell a few but the Lord said that that is not what he was having me to do. I am an average incomed female who really has no extra $ but the Lord has provided me with thousands of dollars in donated items for my ministry ! nearly 5 thousand at that ! so everyone who gets a card from me gets a real blessing because i have been frugal enough to re-cycle and purchase more items that can be used over and over again as compared to supplies that are perishable. as a matter of fact the Lord has blessed me so that one of the major craft stores around here had donated 1000 sheets of 12×12 scrapbook papers to me once they heard the word what i was doing. I don’t have a web site but i would love to find out how you do it becca- doe’s spellbinders hire you and you have to use only their products and sponsered products ? I have been making cards now for 5 years and just this year i have been looking on the web for sites like yours so i can see what others are doing; i made myself NOT look at others sites so that everything i made i litterally had to come up with by myself without inspiration. I do get your emails and look at your stuff becca everyday–beautiful ! but it would be a real blessing to me to find out how to get involved on the level you are – can you let me in on who to talk with with spellbinders etc ??? THANKS . I also am not a huge blogger ( too busy making cards) but i am really greatful for your tutorials , and this blog along with 31 days blog. ; its great to hear other folks ideas !!!!ReplyCancel

Hi there blog friends.  My daughter is getting me out of the house today so this is short and sweet.  This card came together so quickly and is easy enough that I was able to write the directions without having to write a book, lol!! I picked one of my favorite colors, this aqua, turquoisey, green blue and it’s actually different than yesterday although the camera didn’t seem to think so.  Also I’m using one of the new Our Daily Bread Designs sets called Eternity.   I almost wish that I had added one more accent color but I was done before realized it.  So, at the last minute I added the darker pearls for a little punch of color.  Yes, that is a Peg Bow – I think I’m addicted to them!

HOW IT’S MADE
1. Make Card Base – mine is 6″ x 6″
2. Make matted layer that is 5.5″ x 5.5″ with design paper slightly smaller.  Adhere with foam tape.
3. Create medallion using Fleur de Lis Rectangles. Adhere with foam tape.
4. Add Fleur de Lis Doily Motifs with Labels Eighteen, pair adhered.  Mount with foam tape.
5. Add Standard Circles LG, adhere with foam tape
6.  Add stamped sentiment on Standard Circles SM adhere with foam tape.
6. Add Fleur de Lis Accents on sides of top circle – adhere with glue dots.
7. Tie bow.  Add pearls
SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Eternity
Paper: Pink Paislee – 365 Degrees, Bazzill
Ink: Ancient Page – Deep Harbor
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Motifs, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders Standard Circles SM, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents, Ribbon, Pearls

Have a wonderful weekend sweet friends!!

Again, you have shown that super creativity in putting together those die shapes. I’ve learned so much from you, it has completely changed the way I create cards. And, because of you, I’ve fallen in love with everything “Spellbinders”. I love your layout, and I get so inspired by you! Thank you!ReplyCancel

Hi Becca!! Another beautiful card!! Aqua is so pretty! I was wondering if you have a source for envelopes for your 6 x 6 cards, or if you make all of them with a template, or just what you do?? I tend to make 6 x 6 cards, too, but am having a difficult time trying to make envelopes for them. Thanx for any info you can provide.
