Introducing Amazing Paper Grace- Candlewick Sampler by Becca Feeken using S4-1018 Candlewick Petticoats for details see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35374
Hi Friends, it’s always exciting when I get to introduce a new collection.  Collections are groups of dies that work together instead of ‘one of a kind dies’ like my Die of the Month. These dies come in several formats but have a similar look and feel and have matching elements.  Today, I’m excited to give a little peek into a new collection and tell you the inspiration behind it.  Join us as we share lovely creations made using Candlewick Sampler  (definition below).

The Inspiration Behind Candlewick Sampler

Since the age of 12 I’ve loved fiber!!!!  I sew quilts, knit, crochet, love cross stitch and before becoming a Licensed Die Designer I sewed most of my own clothes. I’ve always been fascinated with intricate textures and the look of laces, fabrics and embroidery.  It’s my dream to combine the fabric and fiber world with my love of dies.  I often try to replicate the look and feel of those textures in dies.  Candlewicking has such a distinct and elegant look and if you’ve loved my lace look collections or that elegant look of Hemstitch, you’ll love Candlewick Sampler.

Candlewicking is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.  The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance.  In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots.  Without overpowering, it’s a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection.  Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl.  Google candlewicking and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

My Projects For Today

I’m introducing  S4-1018 Candlewick Petticoats

Here is what the plate actually looks like.

Candlewick Petticoats is one of my favorite new dies.  It was designed to be a topper or you can use the pretty bracket edge on the flap of a card and layer the petticoat under the edge as I’ve done on my card.

mazing Paper Grace September 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders -Snip-It Flowers - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35355
Another month has come and this month behind the scenes we’ve been marveling at all the ways you can use the September  Die of the Month – Snip-It Flowers

Inspiration Download for Amazing Paper Grace September Die of the Month - see more at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35355

At first glance, it looks like a background die; it is anything but a background die.  It was designed so that each of the flowers can be snipped out to create a panel, frame or element.  Whether you want the 4 x 4 frame, the 3 x 4 frame, a one layer border, a two-layer border or a corner, all you have to do is “snip”.  Each one of us has taken the die and spun it into a creation – we hope to inspire!!

My Card Today

I had an opportunity to create about 16 samples for the Die of the Month, so today I thought I would show you one of my favorites.  It’s one of the simplest ones but it really speaks to my heart.  It’s the full background using each of the flowers layered up with the additional pieces.  Because of the spacing, it’s very easy to insert a sentiment that says it all.  I suppose there’s a special place in my heart because it has all of my favorite things!  It has dimension, texture, a pretty sentiment and most of all, because it leaves room for a bow!!  This one is on the simple side, but every once in a while that’s exactly what you need.

Supply List:

Stamps: Spellbinders STP-005 Clear Words
Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb smooth, Coredinations – Concerto
Ink:  Versafine – Onyx Black
Accessories: September Die of the Month – Snip-It Flowers, Ribbon, Pearls

Amazing Paper Grace September 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Snip-It Flowers - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35317
Hello September!!!  Along with the heavenly feel that autumn is coming, I have the distinct pleasure of ushering in another Die of the Month.  This month I’m introducing the September Die of the Month Snip-It Flowers – a new Amazing Paper Grace concept.  This is a die that can whittled down for any size card!  I designed it so that pieces of it can be snipped to give you all of the following:

Frames and Backgrounds
4 x 4 background with flower centers
4 x 4 frame with flower centers
3 x 4 background with flower centers
3 x 4 frame with flower centers
3 x 3 background with flower centers
3 x 3 frame with flower centers
2 x 2 background with flower centers

Borders and Corners
1 column border with flower centers
2 column border with flower centers
3 column border with flower centers
3 Flower wide corners with flower centers
4 Flower wide corners with flower centers
Big flower corner pocket with flower centers
Every Combination above with no flower centers –  for a different look!!

If you want to see these more than 12 possibilities rolled into actual do-able cards, there is a Snip-It PDF  ——> DOWNLOAD IT HERE. (PDF will be available soon!)

The Creative Team is tickled to show their makes with the die, visit the Snip It Flowers Blog Hop!

Inspiration for Snip-It Flowers

I get notes from crafters all the time who want a certain size die – some ask for A2, some ask for A7, some ask for specific sizes.  Snip-It Flowers grew out of the desire to accommodate all while making a budget-friendly die that you can use in so many ways.  As a result, this is a big die, a small die, a detailed die and a clean and simple die – all in one. By the way, I stopped counting at 16 different ways to Snip-It.  I think this is going to become a staple in my stash but would love to hear how you’ll use it.

Snip-It Flowers Samples

When I made the first 16 samples using this die, I thought I had covered all of the possibilities, but not so.  Afterward, new projects kept popping in my head.  We have all month to show you, but in the meantime, I’m showing one quick card and box today.  This is a 15-minute project and will easily get you out of a bind when you need a card and a gift.

Amazing Paper Grace September 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Snip-It Flowers - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35317

The cards above is covered in the video and shows you how easy it is to “snip” to get the frame.

Amazing Paper Grace September 2019 Die of the Month by Spellbinders - Snip-It Flower - learn about this die at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=35317

For the picture above, I’m showing my favorite two adaptations.  One is a full background and the second is a two column border that gave me room to use a sweet Quietfire Design sentiment – Floral Banner and Quote.   So flexible, I could have as easily but that border on the bottom and had the sentiment float along the top.  My mind is still working on possibilities.

Well, that’s my shares for you with the September 2019 Die of the Month!  Pop over to the Spellbinders Blog Snip-It Flowers post  to have a look at many more pictures of Snip-It Flowers.  As always, over on the Spellbinders Blog, there are many cool projects that I’ve not shown here.

If there is something you’d particularly like to see as a Die of the Month or a type of die that you don’t like, pop up to the comments tab of the blog and leave me a private note.  There’s a whole team of people who debate these dies every month and we critique if we’re giving you the best value and most unique combinations on the market.  Yes, it is that important!  For that reason, I’m always keen to hear your feedback :-)

WOW! You have designed such a versatile die for us Die of the Month clubbers. Snip, snip, snip. Lovely designs that one can make with this one. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this die. Well done. I look forward to receiving my die and making lovelies with it. Thanks for the great video. This hurricane Dorian is on its way to Florida. I pray you and yours, as well as your property, stay safe and uneffected from this enormous storm. You deserve a break. Thoughts are with you dear one.ReplyCancel
