Well, my designing took a turn and I went off on a tangent :-)   I was working on a tutorial when this card popped right into my mind – does that ever happen to you lol?  I love to use gold but this is a new combination for me, gold and brown!  What happened is I touched that corrugated gold paper I used on the background and wanted to use it right away.  Today I’m showing a new set of stamps by JustRite Stampers called Heart to Heart Borders.  It is elegance in it’s richest form so I thought the gold, the embossed fleur design and the golden corrugated paper were perfect.  This is layered up, but because it uses layers of die cuts — there is no other measuring!!

I used Spellbinders Grand Large Labels #5 to cut my card base and layered with the next smaller size, #4.   Then I created a medallion that consists of Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, a frame cut with Fleur de Lis Squares and Spellbinders Classic Squares SM.  I interlocked Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG and lastly JustRite Custom Die – Nested Frames! I threaded my ribbon through the Fleur de Lis Square and added some gold pearls!!

Stamps: JustRite Stampers – Heart to Heart Borders and Centers
Paper: Bazzill, K & Co. (gold corrugated paper)  The Paper Studio
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossing Powder, Distress Inks and Reinkers
Accessories: JustRite Stampers Custom Die – Nested Frames,  Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Spellbinders Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen, Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinder Grand Large Labels , ribbon, gold half pearls

    Beautiful card Becca. Was this card base pieced like most of your cards are? Because you used a die to cut it I don’t see how it could be pieced. Can you cut a folded card with a die, cutting both front and back at the same time?

Hi friends, just a note to let you know that my feed has been repaired and today’s post is unstuck, lol.

If you wrote me that you received a notice and the post was no longer there – it’s all good now.  That’s a new one on me.  I scheduled the post for 9:00am and went about my business this morning.   It sat there all day although the feed for the post went out.  Sheesh, that’s a new one on me!!  Come see me today – I have some JustRite goodness to share!!

Cleaning out my bedroom last week I came across this little snippet that I’ve held onto for several years.  It tickles me and I laugh inside every time I read it.  Because John spent a lot of time relaxing on the bed back in our bedroom, I tried to find things I could work on while he was there.   So, rather than tote my ironing board back there, I got this over the door one from Target.   Once I got it home I punctured the clear wrap to take it out and stopped cold when I read the label.  The year had been anything but easy so it came to us at a time that the quirky hope this little snippet offers was enough to make us stop and think.   It actually was a message I needed to hear on the day I heard it.  Funny thing tho’ – I’ve described this packaging to friends and told them to look at it while in the store and these days the packaging just says ironing board.  (Shrug!)

As I perched on the side of the bed I wondered what it would be like to have the wrinkles of yesterday vanish before my eyes.    Oh but to dream . . .  I’ll be back in the morning with a new post and if things work out right, a tutorial.  In the meantime . . . back to my rumpled up life, lol!!

    I guess I’m one of those odd people that loves to iron. There’s something about running a hot steamy iron over crumpled fabric and watching it smooth out that just facinates me. The analogy on your ironing board packaging is fitting. I often iron in the living room while my husband watches TV so we can be together.

    What a great message. I have always enjoyed ironing…it’s always been therapeutic…just like the label says…you are removing the wrinkles of yesterday and making it new again…I love passing a hot iron on a wrinkled shirt and watching all the wrinkles go away…such a great lesson for life.

    I used an analogy similar to that once when I was having a rough time…got some bad news…life was changing…I woke up the next morning and it had snowed…mind you it doesn’t snow in my parts…about once every ten years if that. When I saw the snow I knew it was a message from God…that the snow was wiping away all the bad so I could start fresh…as the driven snow.

    You’re in my thoughts daily.

    I have always loved to iron!!!!!! I would iron all my childrens clothes and(7) they would all be starched, hung ,folded and ready on Saturday for Sunday and the following week.     Yes, I agree. Actually, I iron so much less now than I did, but when I do, it is such a meditative activity and I can so relate to the quote. Actually there is a great short story by Tillie Olsen titled, “I Stand Here Ironing” which is about a mother who is ironing, and while doing so, is reflective on her relationship with a daughter she does not understand. When I teach the story in class, I always am reminded of all the thoughts that go through my mind while ironing- sometimes good, sometimes not. Still, this is such a great label- thanks for sharing.     Good morning Becca! Personally I prefer my rumpled up life, it reminds me of my impurities and unworthiness to stand before a great and Holy God. He is the Perfectly “ironed” piece that I would aspire to be modeled after. I must admit the ad is quite humorous though. I totally dislike ironing and fortunately God gave me a husband that really literally loves to iron. Kind of funny how we all have a way to remember our husbands via an iron. Continue your day with a BIG smile, go and smell some crumpled up flowers in their perfection and then make another beautiful card where all those beautiful imperfections make the rest of us ooooh and ahhhh over.     How true is that . I will keep it up on my scrap wall to read over and over. Thank you for sharing it with all of us that have had bad days lately. All last week I was with my Mother at a Hospital in Milwaukee, Wi. She had a day surgery that kept her there until Sunday, She had the surgery on Tuesday. But thank GOD that we do beleive prayers work, The dr. said she had a 90-95% chance of having Cancer. But we are sooo happy that wasn’t the case.
