Hi there friends, I went a little bit CAS (or my version of CAS) on you today.   I wanted to do a something that I could showcase with some ruching so I kept things pretty simple.  I do love the look of the ruching though and have a tutorial at the end of this post.    I’m using a sweet set of stamps from Crafty Secrets called Angel Blessings.  It’s a pretty large set that contains these sweet little cherubs and the sentiment that I stamped right under them!!

I ran my ruching up and down the card and sheer ribbon horizontally while I centered a turned rose on top of Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.  For the main focal panel I cut Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and backed it with an element from Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents.  After cutting out most of the image, I finished off the bottom edge with Labels Fourteen.

Here’s a picture from straight on so that you can see all the elements.

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps: Crafty Secrets – Angel Blessings
Paper
: The Paper Company, Xpedx 140lb White Cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:
Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents, Ribbon (May Arts), Pearls

Hiya there!  Thanks for all your kind words yesterday.  Just a reminder that today is the last day to leave a comment to win the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog Hop prizes.  Check out THIS post to see what you need to do.  In the meantime I have a card to share with the sweetest sentiment from Quietfire Design called We are Never So Lost.

There were enough new releases with Spellbinders that I’ll be reaching for them for some time to come.  I haven’t shown these here yet so here we go . . .  On my card base I layered Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangle.  On top of that I layered the Fleur De Lis Doily Accents border.  I showcased a folded rose – I’ve done this before and many of you asked for a tutorial, so I have that ready today.  I love this rose and although it looks intimidating, it is very easy.  Lastly I embellished the rose with leaves from the new set, Spellbinders Foliage.

I will tell you that this folded rose goes very quickly once you remember the sequence to folding  each layer.  Have you ever made a cootie catcher?  This is easier :-)

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps: Quietfire Design – We Are Never So Lost
Paper
: Coredinations, The Paper Company, Mulberry Paper
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Red Rouge, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:
Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles,
Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents, Spellbinders Foliage, Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Smooches!!

But she KNOWS how to type in “www.amazingpapergrace.com” in the google search bar. So every time I get an entry from you I call her and let her know that you have a new post. You are the ONLY person who she “follows.” She and I both agree that your are an AMAZING ARTIST and Blessed with a Fantastic Talent. fI we could ever receive a project from any ONE person in the world…it would be one of yours. Dear Becca,
I made your flower several times with different papers, before I came up with a new idea. I had recalled how I once made dryer sheet paper (2 dryer sheets stuck together with mod podge) and had some left over. I tried it out and it worked well because the flowers are stiffer, but more pliable. You have to spray the sheets with a glimmer spray then how gorgeous they appear! Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial. Your blog is such inspiration. Take care of yourself.ReplyCancel

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs January Release Blog Hop! If you made your way here from Lorelie Kim, you are in the right place!   If not, you might want to go to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and start from there so you don’t miss anyone!  There will be six fabulous prizes this month: if you are one of the lucky winners, you’ll get your pick of one of the new ODBD fish stamp sets or if you are the grand prize winner, you will get the Bread Basket Bundle. The prizes are hidden on various blogs along the hop, so it is important that you visit and comment on each one.

The Hop will run February 1st at 8am Eastern and will end at 8pm Eastern February 2nd. The winners will be randomly selected from the commenters that complete the hop and answer the question on the ODBD Blog. Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on February 3rd.

So here’s what you need to do to be in the running:

1. Leave a comment for each of the designers in the hop. Just in case you get stuck, remember the entire list is posted on the ODBD Blog.
2. Leave a comment on the ODBD Blog that you completed the blog hop (make a note if there’s someone’s blog that wouldn’t take a comment). Be sure to answer the Blog Hop question you find there :-)
3. Cross your lucky fingers and toes and hope that one of the bloggers who have the hidden prizes pick you!!   Be sure to check the ODBD Blog on February 3rd to see if you won!!

For my card, I started with inspiration from the new background set by Our Daily Bread Designs named He Shall Be Called.  It simply seemed so regal that I decided I wanted to go with a dressy card.   I cut down this large piece of lacey  Anna Griffin paper to a 6″ x6″ size and added a mat on the interior to hold my background.  Once the background was stamped, I cut/embossed both Spellbinders Lacey Ovals and Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM to make a frame and then I laid in that delightfully frilly Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.  It fits perfectly – sweet serendipity!  The sentiment I used is from the new Anchor set and I was determined it was going inside that tag.  To ensure placement, I stamped first then cut.  Because I could see through my Spellbinders die to frame the text, I had no issues hitting it the very first time!!   Amazing new sets, hunh!!  Be sure you leave a comment so that you have the chance to win.  Just sayin’!

SUPPLIES I USED:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Anchor, He Shall Be Called (Background)
Paper: Anna Griffin (Michaels), Bazzill, Gold Foil
Ink : Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder
Accessories : Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Pearls, Ribbon, Button

Without further ado, I’ll pass you along to someone who is certain to dazzle you with her elegant and classic style, Grace Nywening.  Best of luck to you as you make your way along the hop, I hope you win!

Your mini-booklet tutorial from the other day (with the tag envelopes folded in), was sooo cool. Gave me a chance to use up some 8.5 x 11 papers . . . and am having a BLAST making small gifts out of them for friends . . . I used my Cricut to cut the “wish flower” graphic and used a stamp that reads “If I had one wish, I’d wish for more wishes” . . .then another stamp on the first inside page that reads, “And give them all to you!” Then my tags and pages contain my “wishes” . . .like “happiness”, “blessings”, “health”, “memories”, etc. I have tons of one-word sentiment stamps that I can now stamp onto tags and slip into the pages or stick on the pages themselves. THANK YOU and God bless for sharing your talents and ideas with us all!!!!! DebReplyCancel

I just love the lacey border to this card. What a beautiful addition it makes and how clever of you. This card is just gorgeous, but I think that of all of your projects. You just never let down when it comes to beauty and creativity. I have never seen any of Anna Griffin papers that are die cut like this, I will have to make a trip to Michaels and see if I can get some of this. I missed the blog hop at ODBD on the 1st, but will see if I can check it out today. Just to many CHA recaps to follow this past week.
