Thank you, Spellbinders Paper Arts, for sponsoring this contest!

I’m thrilled to share two die template sets with you – S5-034 Parisian Accents and S5-035 Parisian Motifs.  For my first project I’ve created a card with a separate jacket.  The largest template of the S5-035 Parisian Motif set graces the front of the jacket.  The frilly motif serves as the focal point of the jacket and by cutting out the center using S4-116 Standard Circles SM (#2).  I’m able to simply interlock the largest template of the S5-034 Parisian Accents set for a matching look that is both elegant and lacey.  There are so many options with the motif and accent sets that I can see myself doing a bit of interlinking and building different shapes.

Here you can see the enclosure card that fits inside the jacket.  It’s a big card measuring 5.5″ x 7.5″.  As decoration I used the border from S5-034 Parisian Accents, which at 9 inches in length more than accommodates my tall card.  For the frilly medallion on the card I used four of the corner piece elements found in S5-034 Parisian Accents.

The card has an simple closure – the ribbon that wraps around the back of the card comes through the center hole to be tied in a bow which secures everything inside.

The jacket features a four flap closure made using LF-110 Grand Ovals.  The jacket is designed to be flat however scoring the flaps a little bit differently will yield a jacket that can accommodate a thick card or two.

SUPPLIES I USED:

Stamps: None
Paper: Bazzill, K and Company
Ink : Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ S5-034 Parisian Accents, Spellbinders™ S5-035 Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders™ LF-110 Grand Ovals, Ribbon

For my next project I designed a Mothers Day gift that has a bit of a vintage flavor.  The goodie bag, made using LF-161 Grand Labels One, is embellished with a frilly flower medallion.  To accompany the bag, there is a feminine nosegay.  Both the base of the nosegay and the base of the medallion are the same, I simply changed the uppermost layer to give each some charm.

The nosegay has five twirled pink roses with long ribbon tails that are threaded through each layer of the holder.  It is made using the same base as the medallion but both pieces look entirely different, lol!

SUPPLIES I USED:

Stamps: None
Paper: The Paper Company, Anna Griffin
Ink : Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories :
Spellbinders™ S5-034 Parisian Accents, Spellbinders™ S5-035 Parisian Motifs, Spellbinders™ LF-161 Grand Labels One, pearls, lace, crepe paper, flower pick

I’m going to take you though how to make the dimensional lacey flower medallion that serves as the base for both the flower on the bag and for the nosegay.

I have a question concerning die cut and embossing machines. I have the original Sizzix and hardly ever use it. I would love to start investing in some of the dies I see here featuring your AMAZING work and I am wondering if the dies you use would work in a Sizzix machine. If not, which one can utilize the most dies available. I sooo appreciate your answer and value your opinion. Thank you in advance.

Becca, these creations are just gorgeous! These new spellbinders are not at the top of my wishlist. thanks for being such a good enabler. haha!

But seriously, I wanted to send you my condolences on the loss of your husband. My daughter passed away 3 months ago after a life-long heart and lung defects. She had 5 heart surgeries, 2 strokes, etc… all by the time she was only 7 yrs old. As she grew and went through puberty, it took quite a toll on her heart and blood vessels. She had lung bleeds and was in hospice 6 years ago and by a miracle we tried liquid morphine and the lung bleeds stopped and she was discharged from their care. She continued to develop stomach pain and arrhythmia and was not able to go out much to do fatigue. She was at the level of a 7 yr old and such a beautiful princess child at heart. She celebrated her 22nd birthday on June 3rd and was hospitalized for congestive heart failure the very next week. within 6 weeks when we saw the GI doctor he told us that her bowels were shutting down due to the secondary disease she had developed: ischemia of the bowels. By Aug 1st she was unable to eat anything and she went to be with the Lord on Oct 4th. I miss my beautiful girl every moment of every day but I know that she is no longer in pain and is happy. Knowing that the Lord loves us and that He loves her and has provided a way for us to be together again forever brings me a lot of comfort and joy.

I just wanted to tell you a tiny bit of my story and to let you know that I’ve prayed for you. It’s not an easy thing to say good bye to a loved one knowing it could be a loooong time until we see them again.

    Love and prayers,
    NancyReplyCancel

I can not believe it!!! I wrote every word down and kept it until I thought the 48 hrs had passed and I think I threw it away. Anyway, I cannot find it! I loved the poem the words were from so much that I looked it up on-line and printed a copy off to keep. From memory I know the words man, light, unknown, darkness, the, light, known were 7 of the words. I can not remember the 8th. It may be gate, but I can not be sure. Looking over the poem the only other 2 words I see that could have been on the list were hand or God- but I think I have to go with gate. This is very discouraging that my memory is so limited!!! Good luck everyone!ReplyCancel

Hi there!  I have to tell you that this is a pretty exciting week.  Along with all the new die templates that are being released by Spellbinders, JustRite Stampers is releasing new stamp sets too!!  So late Tuesday night and all day Wednesday you’ll want to stop by to see the new dies that I’m revealing for Spellbinders ( and of course a chance to win those new dies!!). Behind that, the week will be full of new releases for JustRite Stampers.

Today I’m showing a recently released set that fits with Spellbinders die templates you probably have in your stash.  This set is called Fancy Frames. and it’s one of the newest additions to the JustRite Stampers Cling series of stamps.  Its two filigree rectangles that give you the option of cutting out framing or built up layering with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen.  Once cut with Labels Fourteen, the cutout is decorated and has a nice frame just barely inside the embossing line.  In addition, the inside oval motif fits with other JustRite sets (yes, even the ribbed sets that contain ovals!) and can be cut with Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM set.  Along with additional sentiments, the set has a number of accessory stamps that give a different twists and nice finishing touches.

Just as a point of interest I sandwiched Spellbinders Labels Seventeen in between my layers to break up all the straight lines.  The layout of this set just gives you so many options.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Stampers – Fancy Frames
Paper: Bazzill, K&Company
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories:
Spellbinders Labels Seventeen, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Ribbon, Pearls

Okay, on to other news.   You won’t believe the new dies that are coming out!  This is the best release ever and you’ll want to join me tomorrow and the others every day this week to see what’s new and hopefully win some of the new dies.  Here’s the schedule.

Becca, I really love this card! I am going to try to create something close to this in a few days. I don’t have all the Spellbinder’s dies for this one, but it should come out fine. Your cards are an inspiration to me and others, I’m sure. Right now, I’m working on a huge Blessings Companion journal order. By the way, could you create a few journals. I’ve “gazed/stared at all of the others you have created in the past, but I want to see more, more, more. Okay, enough craziness. Love You, Girl!ReplyCancel

I am so new to spellbinders and justrite stamps, most of you probably think I live under a rock. But until recently, last year when I was “let go” from my graphic arts job of over 15 years, I really didn’t have time to do much else. Now I baby sit my two lovely grand daughters and still have time to craft, so I have been getting back into the swing of stamping, making cards and scrap booking. I came across Becca’s site quite by accident and now I am so glad, I have learned so many things already and I am constantly inspired by her cards!! I love the spellbinders dies and the just rite stamps, and have put them on my wish list. But it sure would be nice to win them also!!! ~Gin~ReplyCancel
