JustRite Sympathy
Hello there friends! Thanks for stopping in to see me yesterday. Today I have a card to share, and it’s so sad to say, but this type of card doesn’t linger in my stash. I always seem to have need for Sympathy Cards and I have several friends that experienced losses quite recently. So in sitting down to make this, I did pick light colors but nothing too flashy. I’m using a JustRite Stampers set, Sympathy Nested Sentiment and Verse. As far verses go, this set gives me sooooo much flexibility. I put two of the sentiments on the outside and one on the inside.

To construct the card I started out with a 5 x 7″ base and layered on a panel of a slightly smaller width and length. I then constructed three medallions made using Spellbinders Tags Trio Two as the base. I then cut an oval using Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG and topped it off with a the thinnest of Spellbinders Fancy Tags. I used my Stampamajig to stamp the sentiment on each tag but it could just as easily have been stamped then cut out. On the inside put down a strip of my left over scraps then stamped my main sentiment and cut it from Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM and matted it with Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals SM.

Card Recipe: Stamps: JustRite Stampers Sympathy Nested Sentiment and Verse (Original)
Paper: Basic Grey – Capella, The Paper Company
Ink:Versafine – Vintage Sepia, Antique Linen Distress Ink, Spun Sugar Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals LG #2 , Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals SM #4, Spellbinders™ Scalloped Ovals SM, Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags,
Spellbinders™ Tags Trio Two, Ribbon, Pearls

I’ll be back tomorrow with another project. Keep checking in, okay?

Psst . . . kinda quiet around here, isn’t it? Well, it’s quiet on the front side but it’s sure not quiet behind the scenes. I just wanted to let you know there are cha-cha-cha changes coming to Amazing Paper Grace (technology willing, lol!!) Keep your eyes peeled okay? As a matter of fact, let me give you a little hint – if you have not subscribed by email, you’re gonna want to :-) . I know, you’re saying you already subscribe by reader. Yes, you’ll still get my feed but I have some special things planned for email subscribers. Remember, you can do both, simply delete the emails when you’re finished!

I can’t tell you a date or time, because I simply don’t know – could be a day, could be a week, or more. But, when it happens, you’ll know it, lol!!!  So, the first three people to leave me a comment on my first new post after the cha-cha-cha-change will get a sweet goodie package from me. As a matter of fact, after that, I’ll pick another person, randomly, from the comments to get some goodies too. Here’s the catch . . . my first post might not kick off a feed so you may just want to peek in every day to see if it has happened yet and what’s going on (insert mischievous grin here).

Hugs, Becca

Edited to Add: Some people have mentioned that emails seem to come later than the feed. Well, not really. Ya caught me!  Sometimes I start a post late night that is not actually published until early morning and it keeps my begin time.  Also sometimes I backdate a post because I don’t like to have more than one post a day. Typically emails come within 15 – 30 minutes of the time I hit publish. :-)

Oh I can’t wait to see what changes you have in store . I am on your email list.
You are my inspiration. When I can’t decide what to do with a card or layout I generally say to my self, “What would Becca do with this? ” LOL
I even find myself looking at things in a store and saying , “Would Becca use this?” If not it goes back on the shelf.

There is an old Chinese and Japanese philosophy that a student must copy a master’s work before they can find their own style .

I also thought you may be quiet on the front because you are probably getting the new CHA Spellbinders and other things in. :)

Becca, I’m not one to leave comments. I subscribe to a lot of card-making blogs, and that’s my excuse for being lazy and not leaving comments, but I have wanted to leave one on your site for a while now. I didn’t want to comment when you were offering blog candy, because that’s not why I wanted to comment. Your blog inspires me so much. I am continually in awe of the complexity of your deisgns and the gracefulness in which they come together. I’ve also leaned some valuable tips from your blog. However, the main thing I wanted to say to you was that you seem to me to be a person with such grace and dignity that come from a peacefulness within, and I believe your faith drives that. I am so sorry for the recent loss of your husband. In the time leading up to his passing and the time since then, you have been such an inspiration to me. You show such strength, compassion, and love, and I know it is from the grace that God has bestowed on you through your faith.

God bless you and thank you so much for the inspiration you impart every day to those of us who would like to lead with a better example.ReplyCancel

Oh My! Yes, I am already subscribed by email, have been for oh so long now! I love your blog, I love, love, love getting you by email and I am always amazed and thrilled at the creations you present for our pleasure. I anxiously await receiving my email from you, dear lady and look forward anxiously for your cha-cha-cha-changes. Though I honestly cannot imagine any changes making what you do any better. You are the first email I check for and cannot wait each day to see what wonderful and exciting things you come up with next. I am afraid that there are very few cards I can make for Hand delivery, my entire family lives a minimum of 2 hours away, with the majority of them living over 10 hours away. In fact, one of them lives in Honduras, so it is very hard for me to create cards with the gorgeous bows you make. I want to very much to be able to send them to my daughter in Honduras and her family, but living on Social “in”Security means I have to watch my pennies when I send things. There are over 50 different people in my extended family!!! Love you dear lady and I wish you and all of yours the most wonderful and delightful Christmas this year. I know you sweet husband is watching and participating from above.ReplyCancel

It is from “feedblitz.” All I have to do then is just click on a link and it takes me to your blog. So, is that the correct way? I’m just unclear as to whether I’m subscribed to a “reader” or if it is the way you suggested. I know this sounds clear as mud, I’m learning but am just bit sure I’m understanding at times!!

Hello there blog friends! How quick does a year go by? As I was moving piles in the studio I came across this card that I made over a year ago. All the pieces were ready, it just needed to be layered. I sure don’t know how that happens because I feel like I’m always hunting for what I’m going to post. I remember this card well, though. I was tickled to use that velvety kind of paper and it was pure serendipity that I discovered that you can sand it and it gives it a wonderful texture and feel. I’m using one of my favorite sentiments from Quietfire Design called Hold On to the Spirit of Christmas and of course you can never go wrong with fleur de lis anything, right?

I simply ran the velvet paper through my Wizard with an embossing folder then took a sanding block and went to town, gingerly. It only takes a couple of second and voila. I’m using Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG and SM in addition toe Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals LG for my medallion. I also used Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities Petite layered with the Fleur De Lis Borderabilities Petite.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Hold On To The Spirit of Christmas
Paper: DCWV Mariposa, Bazzill, Velvet Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and Clear Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals LG, Spellbinders Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities Petite, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities Petites, Cuttlebug embossing folder

Brrrrrrrrrr……stay warm friends. I hope you’re crafting and keeping safe and warm. Off for some hot chocolate . . . brrrr.

    Hi Becca,

What a beautiful, rich looking card you made! I would have never thought to use all different types of fleur de lis elements, but when combined with a watchful eye, it truly makes for a wonderful card. I think I will have to pull out my fleur de lis die and find some new ways to incorporate it with my cards.

I’m always so happy to see your new posts, it is something I check a couple of times a day. You give me such great ideas and introduce me to new techniques and such lovely stamps. Keep up the good work.
