Hi there sweeties.  Hey if you didn’t get a chance to leave your name for the grand prize winnings from the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog Hop, be sure you go to my post HERE to leave a comment and to find out what you need to do to win.

Clean and simple was the mode for me today.  I’m playing a little bit of catch up because I really don’t have any Christmas cards made.  Time’s  a wasting!!   I have this sweet little sentiment from Quietfire Design called Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow that I had to find somewhere to use.  I laugh when I think about this sentiment because now I just can’t get that song out of my mind, lol!

For my 5½" x 5½" card I used the Spellbinders Nested Hearts template that I just love.  It reminds me of an ornament so I tied a bow on the top and cut the Christmas Tree from Spellbinders Fanciful Holidays from the center.  To top it all off I used the fabulous fleur from the Spellbinders Antiquities set.  I love the green ticking paper I pulled from my Anna Griffin stack today – I edged it with vintage photo distress ink just like old stained fabric.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – Let It Snow
Paper:  Anna Griffin, Bazzill – Kraft, Gold
Ink:  Memento – Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Nested Hearts, Spellbinders Fanciful HolidaysSpellbinders Antiquities, Ribbon

That’s it for me today.  Stay warm friends – especially those of you in the snowy north.

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs December Release Blog Hop!  If you made your way here from Grace Nywening, you are in the right place!  If not you might want to go to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and start from there so you don’t miss anyone!  There will be four extraordinary prizes this month: Three Prizes of one free set, and ONE GRAND PRIZE of the entire December Bread Basket Bundle!!!  The prizes are hidden on various blogs along the hop, so it is important that you visit and comment on each one.

The Hop will run December 1st at 8am Eastern and will end at 8pm Eastern December 2nd. The winners will be randomly selected from the commenters that complete the hop and answer the question on the ODBD Blog.  Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on December 3rd.

So here’s what you need to do to be in the running:

1. Leave a comment for each of the designers in the hop.  Just in case you get stuck, remember the entire list is posted on the ODBD Blog.
2. Leave a comment on the ODBD Blog that you completed the blog hop (make a note if there’s someone’s blog that wouldn’t take a comment).   Be sure to answer the Blog Hop question you find there :-)
3. Cross your lucky fingers and toes and hope that one of the bloggers who have the hidden prizes pick you!!  Be sure to check the ODBD Blog on December 3rd to see if you won!!

So now, here’s some fabulous news . . . Our Daily Bread designs is so proud and pleased to be chosen by the Spellbinders company as a Preferred Stamp Partner. Our partnership with Spellbinders will be a blessing to the stamping community as well, as we expand our line to include perfect-matched sentiments, scriptures and images to Spellbinders products. We look forward to a long and blessed partnership with such a fine product as SpellbindersIt’s no doubt that as you travel the hop today you will see what wonderful creations the design team have made as well as the wonderful influence that Spellbinders dies have on their creations.  This months release features a matching stamp set designed to fit perfectly within Spellbinders Heritage Ornament – please pop over and see the stamp set HERE.

For my card today I went with my comfort colors – you know, like comfort food?  For me, shimmery gold, iridescent white and creamy pearls fit the bill :-) I’m working with the stamps made to match the Spellbinders Heritage Ornament but I wanted to see what I could do  to make the stamp stretch for uses other than the ornament.  As luck would have it, it fits very nicely in Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG and SM.

While I’m at it, in my email I get a question several times a week and especially if I’ve made a card with a bow.  First of all people ask if I send out my cards.  Well that’s a big yes!!  As enjoyable as they are to make I love the people to have them.  So then the next question I get is "how"?  Many times I put them in a package and they don’t need an envelope.  Other times I make an envelope because I make odd sized cards and sometimes large cards.  This is a large card – it measures 5.5" x 8.5".  It perfectly matches an A9 envelope which is made from a 12" x 12" sheet of paper (most of the scoreboards on the market have instructions for making envelopes) and measures 6" x 9 1/4".  You can see below that I simply flatten the ribbon a little bit and slide it in my envie.

When the recipient gets it, if they like they can plump the ribbon.  Men probably would not do that, but I don’t normally send this fru-fru type of card to a man :-)  As you can see below the envelope is kind of plump, but they make it through the mail just fine.

Card and Envelope Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Ornaments
Paper:  K&Company, Gold Foil, White Cardstock (Xpedx)
Ink:  Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Two (trimmed off ends), pearls, ribbon, Tattered Angels – Pearlescent

That’s it for me now.  As you move along your way, prepared to be charmed!  Your next stop along the Blog Hop is with the talented Julie Warner!  See you soon!!

Becca, this is gorgeous! I would be so honored to have one of your cards! How do you make the double loop bow? Praise the Lord for giving so many people the gift of making beautiful things out of paper with their hands!

I hope you’re doing ok. I’m praying for you and your family!

I just wanted to share that my husband was going to go to Honduras in February on a mission trip with our church, but was not going to be able to as of yesterday. Our daughter’s “x” is fighting her every step of the way in her divorce, and the attorney’s fees keep going up. My hubby got an email last night from our pastor about a donor who pays for one person to go on the trip in full as a “scholarship”. He offered it to Mike, and Mike humbly accepted! God is so good!

    Hugs and love,

My greatest Christmas Memory is the first Christmas without my Mother. I was only 6 years old. With Mom dying in November and Christmas being the next month, sure we were sad, but my Dad, being the father that he was, did all he could do to make sure his 4 girls were happy. We didn’t have a lot of money, but that’s not what Christmas is all about. All we wanted for Christmas was the doll house fully furnished, that we saw in the Sears ONLY the doll house and we had to share it, but we all to this day remember how special that Christmas was.ReplyCancel

  • Pat SDecember 1, 2010 - 10:13 am

This card definite meets the WOW factor for me. Love gold of any kind. Thanks so much for your recommendations on the envelope. I struggle to fit my 3D cards in envelopes, but have found that Archiver’s does have a dies for 3 different size of envelopes that have depth, so a layered card fits nicely. I am loving this inspirational blog hop, so many wonderful designs and creativity.ReplyCancel

  • Iris, Saved By GraceDecember 1, 2010 - 10:20 am

Everything you do is gorgeous!! Have a blessed Christmas Becca. My favorite Christmas Memory is coming home to Tennessee from Chicago to spend Christmas at my Granny’s house. It was always full of love, laughter and wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. They’re all in heaven now. But we know we’ll be with them alot longer than we’ll be without them, don’t we Becca. Your family is in my prayers.ReplyCancel

What a gorgeous card…so much to look at! One of my favorite Christmas memories is one year when we left the retirement home where my husband’s mother lived, we decided to do a little driving around to look at lights. There were several ‘themed’ streets and entire neighborhoods nearby. We turned onto Christmas Tree lane and from the back seat I heard a gasp and the hushed, wonder filled voice of my 4 year old daughter say “It’s Christmas land!”. Still gives me chills, the memory of the awe and wonder in her voice.ReplyCancel

Becca. Thank you for another beautiful card. I have a question please. Because of you (LOL) I am the proud owner for many new Spellbinder sets! I use my Cuttlebug to cut them out, but I do a poor job with embossing them. I cannot get mine to emboss. I use the Cuttlebug, a die, and the Spellbind embossing matt, just one. Two won’t run thru my CB. All I get is a very light image of it being embossed. I would love a heavy, deep embossed edge and I have no clue on how to get it. Can you please advise? Thanks much! Have a great week! CherylReplyCancel

    Beautiful designs.
My favourite Christmas memory …difficult question as many to choose from. One favourite, my Dad set up the card table in front of our beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and we had homemade meat pie followed by Christmas pudding or cookies (cookies were my choice as I don’t like pudding). After, we would head off to church for the service where many Christmas hymns were sung — my favourite, Silent Night.ReplyCancel

oops, forgot to leave my Christmas memory. one of my favorites was the winter of 1966 we were moving (again) from florida to california, my dad was in the navy. we spent Christmas with my greatgrandparents up in the foothills of the appalachians in northwest georgia. my sisters and i were so down in the dumps because they didn’t have a Christmas tree, so grandpa grabbed his axe and we all went tramping thru the snow to the back forty and cut our own tree. up until that time i thought all Christmas trees were purchased at a tree lot.ReplyCancel

Today I’m sharing this ultra sweet image that’s new with JustRite Stampers.  The past couple of weeks have been spent introducing a new artist over at JustRite, a childrens book illustrator, Elizabeth Dulemba.  Isn’t this just the sweetest scene?  Both the scene and the sentiment are from a new JustRite set called Quiet Moments which is available in Cling.

After coloring, I cut the image using Spellbinders Labels Sixteen #6 which I mounted on a frame made with Spellbinders Lacey Circles #4 and #5.  From my paper collection I isolated a vertical border and added two rows of scallops using Spellbinders Big Scalloped Border Grand.   I love it when I can tie a simple sentiment to a tag on my ribbon, so I did just that using Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stampers – Quiet Moments (Cling)
Paper:  Die Cuts With A View
Ink:  Dye Based Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Spellbinders Big Scalloped Border Grand, Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio, Ribbon, Linen Thread

Don’t forget, JustRite Stampers is offering free shipping on US orders over $50.00 – through the month of December :-)

I have another post from late last night, so be sure to read to find out the winner of the Grand Circles.  Can you believe that tomorrow starts the first day of the last month of the year?  That means 25 more days until Christmas.  I’m hanging in there with the support of your sweet prayers.   Thanks so much!!   I’ll be back soon with something new, dear friends.

What a beautiful and elegant card. It reminds me of my sister & I. We were 6 years apart growing up. And she often called me her second mom. I tried to be there for the big events in her life. It truly was a special relationship growing up and continues even today.

So sorry to hear for your loss. It must open up some wounds that were just beginning to heal over. It is amazing that he willed himself to live until his son passed away. You here so much of that in husbands & wives.
