Once again I send my thanks as so many of you showered well wishes on me an my family for the holiday.  We are blessed to have each other and I know it’s incumbent on us to make the best of the season.  I do have some sad news, but in many other ways a blessing – John’s father passed away on Saturday night.   In my heart I know he held out to support John though his illness and then let go when he’d made up his mind it was time.  Simply said, God Bless him.

I have a new card to share with a sweet new sentiment.   So elegant with swirls and swashes, the sentiment is called Blessed is the Season by Quietfire Design and is perfectly sized for the front of a card or an inside.  Of course I’m happy with sentiments that take a good bit of real estate on the front of the card, but this one plays so nice with all the other elements.  I paired it up with some magnificent K & Company paper (the paper was precut with that curvy die cut bottom) and a couple of embellishments.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – Blessed is the Season
Paper: K & Company, Bazzill
Ink:  Ancient Page – Bordeaux
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Four, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Border, Spellbinders Mega Ovals LG, Pearls, Ribbon

So, are you waiting to see who won the Grand Circle Nestibilities?  We do have a winner!!  With the help of Random.org I pulled the number 725 and it matched the following comment.
Penny, please reach out to me though the contact tab at the top of my blog.  It will allow you to send me an email with your mailing address.  Let me hear from you within 48 hours, dear :-)

Thank you sweet friends!!  I’ll be back soon with more to show.

They will be looking down and caring for you all-Celebrate their life not their passing. If I were there I’d give you a big hug full of love – so my thoughts are with you all at this sadest of times.

It is always so hard when we loose those that we love, but, we have to always remember that they continue on with us in our heart, and, most importantly remember that God never gives us more than we can handle and He is always, always there to hold us up and to carry us, just as the poem Footprints tells us. Prayers continue to be with you through this time and in the days and weeks ahead.ReplyCancel

Becca..I am so sorry that you lost your father in law as well. I will keep your entire family in my prayers!

We lost our nephew to the war in Iraq in the summer of 2008 and in December of that same year lost my Dad to cancer. We do miss them both, but we have a sort of peace knowing that they are together in heaven and we will see them again.

It is hard to get used to “celebrating” holidays when our loved ones are gone for us. BUT it can be done! It takes time. Give yourself and your children tons of time to grieve.

Much love and God’s blessings to you & your family in this difficult time!ReplyCancel

Hi there friends!  Did we even have a fall?  It was hot at my house for Thanksgiving and I think tonight is the first really cold night I remember.  I started working on this card back in October but it was set aside when we had to go  to the hospital.  It laid on my desk and this is the first time I thought I could finish it  up.  You know we don’t always like our own cards but I have to say that I like the  layout on this one.

This is one of my favorite new images from the JustRite Cling Collection – this one is called A Day in the Country and the sentiment I used is from Hanging Around.   This just makes me think of cool weather and hot apple cider!!

Hi there, don’t forget I have Spellbinders Grand Circles available as current blog candy.  Scroll down to my post from 11/25/10 and leave your comment there :-)

I always try to have a gift in reserve, so that I can give it out or send it out on a moments notice.  With a huge stash of buttons on hand, I found these little wide mouth bottles at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be the perfect size to give away a collection of buttons.  I used the new Tag Die from Our Daily Bread Designs and stamped it with the To, From Sentiment from the Poinsettia Tag Set.  For the mini card I used a sentiment from the Holly Tag Set.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Poinsettia Tag Set, Holly Tag Set
Paper:  K & Company, Bazzill
Ink:  Ancient Page – Coronado Blue
Accessories:  Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die, Button Trim (Hobby Lobby), Ribbon, Jar (Hobby Lobby)

While I was playing, I made a quick card today using the same tag die from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Once stamped using a sentiment from the Holly Tag Set, I cut it short and rounded the corners to make it just the right size.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Holly Tag Set
Paper:  Baziill, K & Co.
Ink: Versafine – Vintage Sepia
Accessories:  Our Daily Bread Designs Tag Die Cut, Cricut – Inspired Heart, Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by :-)  We had a quiet Thanksgiving.  Kids had me go to Walmart with them on Thanksgiving night but otherwise I held down the fort while they did the Black Friday dash this morning. I may make it around tomorrow to see what I can see :-)

A delightful gift and adorable card for the crafter/artiste on your list. The creche silhouette diecut is a fabulous design but I missed the ‘recipe’ for it. Oh, wait a minute, I just reread your accessories and maybe it’s the Inspired Heart from Cricut. I don’t have a Cricut so don’t pay much attention to their product listings. It’s a beautifully designed card, of course, with gorgeous background papers. And is the holly pattern a ribbon, diecut, or edge punch? You and your family remain in my prayers.ReplyCancel

  • Marcie SmithNovember 27, 2010 - 2:44 am

    Becca,
Love the jar you used for the buttons. You always find the cutest things at Hobby Lobby!!! Wish we had those here, but we don’t. As big as San Diego is, we are very limited in variety of craft stores.
Love the ric-rac you used to hang the buttons on your card. After our family left Thanksgiving evening and we cleaned up, I took a three hour nap, got up and headed out for some Black Friday sales. I have not done this for quit a few years now and actually after no sleep, batteling the crowds in freezing weather, standing in long lines at the check out, and really not finding alot of what I had actually went out there to get, I was very disappointed and it will be some time before I do this again anytime soon!!!! I am just exhausted.
Did you do any shopping today?

Becca, you have a creativity that never rests, I think. Those buttons hanging from the ric-rac are sooo adorable, and I love the colors. The gift idea is great, too. I did do the Black Friday dash, all through the night, and then slept all day (hence the 3 am post). And, I was happy to find everything I was looking for, which made standing in the freezing cold for 1 1/2 hours worth it (but, my feet were screaming at me for it). Continuing my thankfulness…I’m thankful for you, your creativity and willingness to share it with us, and your wonderful heart that sooo comes through in your blog! Praying for you!ReplyCancel

Totally adorable Becca, love the colors, the buttons are so, so adorable! Quick question if you have time. Did you cut the manger scene with the Cricut or is it a laser cut die? I have both a Cricut and a Silhouette and have never used them (I know, I know, spoiled and shame on me for not using them . . . . LOL). I’m totally lazy, I admit it. I haven’t taken the time to read the instructions . . . I’d rather watch the movie . . . LOL! Hugs, JerriReplyCancel
