Greetings and welcome back to the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge – this is challenge #3!  As we get closer to the season of giving, let’s take the wraps off your creativity to come up with beautiful ways to gift give. Do you have a fun template for a beautiful box?  Or, do you have a beautiful presentation for gift cards?  Show us what you’ve got!  Link up your Bringing Back Beautiful Challenge card here to enter. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB03. You have until October 30th to enter!  As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!

For this challenge I wanted to make a container using the Spellbinders Grand Labels Four.  I thought that the bracket on the end would be an wonderful corner piece.  I had trouble deciding between a basket or a box, so I made a basket and included a lid for the best of both worlds.  I simply connected four of the Grand Labels Four, then added a liner inside and constructed a lid to fit on top.  I used Flourishes Christmas Music Background as the design paper for the project.  For each side of the basket, there is an accordian folded flower medallion that is seated on Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles SM panel.   I finished off with a tag from Spellbinders Tags Five and the sentiment – Celebrate the Season.

The basket measures 8.5" tall including the handle, 4.5" tall for the base of the basket where goodies go and 6" wide from tip to tip of the Labels Four.

This gets filled with chocolate and off to one of my friends when we get closer to Christmas :-)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Christmas Music Background
Paper:  Bazzill
Ink:  Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Four, Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Circles SM, Spellbinders Tags Five, Ribbon, Paper Studio Spare Parts Brads, Martha Stewart Scalloped Border Punch

I hope you’ll join in and create a card that Brings Back Beautiful.  Don’t forget to hop around and see the cards created by all the other Beauty Girls.

would you share the instructions for that most beautiful basket, it is the most lovieliest thing I have ever seen done with paper! PLEASE PLEASE SHAREReplyCancel

Greetings!  I have a card to share today that honestly was not that involved.  It uses one of the fabulous Quietfire Design sentiments called Look For The Dream.  My inspiration was this piece of vellum paper (vellum is not always my friend).  On this card I knew I wanted to showcase the pretty pattern on the vellum plus I wanted to give a hint to what’s underneath.  One of my favorite conventions to use when I don’t want to cover something up is to make a pretty sleeve.  The sleeve is part of the card – not intended as any part of envelope and it also gives me a great staging area for my ribbon.  Since I had something interesting to show, I also gave it a little peek-a-boo effect.

Here’s the card totally assembled.  It’s a tad under 5" x 7".  My sleeve is edged with Spellbinders Fair Isle Borderabilities Petite – it was just the right size that I didn’t have to cut in the middle of my pattern or repeat.  For the medallion inside I used Spellbinder Labels Seventeen and embellished with Spellbinders Petite Ovals LG and  Petite Ovals SM.   That dazzling bling is from Prima – it frames the sentiment so nicely.  The centerpiece for my bow is also Prima.

I found a stash of vellum in my room as I was moving some things around so I may need to spit out a couple more of these Peek-A-Boo Sleeve Cards to use up some of that vellum.  Hope your weekend is being spent doing just what you planned!  See you soon.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – , Stampabilities – Flourish
Paper:  Bazzill, Coredinations, The Paper Studio – Vellum
Ink:  Versafine – Vintage Sepia
Accessories:  Spellbinders Fair Isle Border Petites, Spellbinders Petite Ovals LG, Spellbinders Petite Ovals SM, Spellbinders Labels Seventeen, Prima Bling, May Arts Silk Ribbon – Champagne

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs October Release Blog Hop!  If you made your way here from Julie Warner, you are in the right place!  If not you might want to go to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and start from there so you don’t miss anyone!  There will be three extraordinary prizes this month: Two Prizes of one free set, and ONE GRAND PRIZE of the entire OCTOBER BUNDLE!!!  So here’s what you need to do to be in the running:

1. Leave a comment for each of the designers in the hop.  Just in case you get stuck, remember the entire list is posted on the ODBD Blog.

3. Answer the question posted on the ODBD Blog.

The Hop will run Oct. 1 from 8am Eastern and end 8pm Eastern Oct. 2. The winners will be randomly selected from the commenters that complete the hop and answer the question on the ODBD Blog. Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Oct 3rd.

For my card today I’m using two of the new ODBD October Releases.  The text background and leaf are from the Randi’s Song set and the sentiment on my tag is from the Missing You Set.  I stamped and embossed the text background twice then cut out with Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles SM.  On top I layered Labels Sixteen, then Labels Fifteen and lastly Classic Squares SM.  After tying on my ribbon, I secured a tag using Tags Five.
