Greetings!  I have a golden project to share with you today.  I love using gold and cream and have to ration it so that I don’t do too many cards a month with those two colors.  I don’t think I’ve done one in a while, so this is my fix.  I’m using a stamp from JustRite Stampers that surprisingly I’ve never used before, Christmas Treasures.  This card (perhaps minus the pearls) falls squarely in the category that I’d consider for assembly line and creating multiples.

From the bottom of my medallion I layered Spellbinders Lacey Circles #4 then added cut my circular sentiment from Spellbinders Class Circles SM #6.  My gold rimmed layer is cut from Spellbinders Standard Circles SM #5.  Then finally my main picture is cut from Spellbinders Standard Circles LG #3.  I tried my image embossed with just black but it was too stark while the trial I embossed with just gold was too light.  So, I combined the best of both worlds, I embossed the top with gold and the bottom with black and you can kind of see in the middle where they blend.  Yea, another card to add to my pile – I’m well on my way.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stampers – Christmas Treasures
Paper:  The Paper Company, Bazzill
Ink:  Versamark with Gold and Black embossing powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Lacey Squares, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders Standard Circles SM, ribbon, pearls

Thank you so much for joining us during the JustRite Stampers Christmas Blog Hop yesterday and all the sweet comments on my work.  The feedback helps me consider the types of things my readership likes to see.  Mwah!

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #4!   Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, it’s the Spellbinders design team!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

Just this past week readers shared their thrifty tips on how frugal they are when they craft and during life in general.  After reading so many great comments it had me thinking how satisfying it is to find something, a left over perhaps from another part of my life that I am then able to use in crafting.   My mind settled on some pretty, pretty lace cupcake liners I used for a gift quite some time ago.  I had several of them left over and I used them on my card today.  Those black cupcake liners, like most liners, have a curve.  I used this to make an arch to highlight the JustRite stamps that I used for my Christmas Card.  I just love the filigree look, I think it makes a stunning backdrop!!  I ran my ribbon right behind the filigree since you can see through it.

I picked JustRite JB-08770 Christmas Joy as my focal image.  It’s a tried and true sentiment from the JustRite Christmas Collection.  I love the vertical oval and it matches several of my Spellbinders perfectly.  For the oval medallion I layered  Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals SM , then Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals SM and lastly Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM.  My image is colored with Copic Markers.    I used the two cupcake wrappers by just folding them over the edge of my card and taping them on the back.   I tried and tried to slather pearls all over this but my spidey sense just said no.   Instead, three understated pearls on a cosage pin break up the strict symmetry.

How are you coming on your Christmas cards.  I promise you, we’ll be there before you know it!!  So how was my attempt to be frugal today?  If you like it and would like to see more items like this, please leave a comment to let me know :-)  In the mean time, please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!

As usual your card is stunning Becca. I have never seen or heard of cupcake liners in UK, they’re gorgeous. Seems a shame to mess them up with cake though. At first glance I thought you had maybe used a fancy Cricut cut out design that I’d missed. I suppose this kind of look could be achieved with an intricate Cricut image.

Becca this card is so elegant. I just love it. Glad I read thru to see where the lace came from. Never would have guessed that it was a cupcake liner thou. Where did you find these. I’m a baker and have never seen these. However, Martha Stewart has teamed with Provo Craft and has a cake cartridge with nothing but cupcake designs shaped like these. However, I don’t believe any of the designs are as this intricut or as beautiful. Must share where you found these. Please. This is definitely where frugal and saving has paid off.

You even have fabulous left-overs! I’ve never heard of nor seen a lacey cupcake liner so you are still keeping up your reputation (with me, anyway) of always introducing something new and wonderful. TFSReplyCancel

What a gorgeous card!! Those cupcake liners are so pretty… I’ve never seen anything like that before… didn’t know anything like that existed. Now will be on a search for pretties like that. Can you tell where you found them?ReplyCancel

Hi there, I’m rushing a little bit to get the winners name out there because sometimes I have to pick a couple of times to get a winner.  I like doing it while it’s all fresh on your minds.  But before I do that, I have a quick card to share that escaped my camera somehow this month.  It features one of the September releases from Our Daily Bread Designs called Never Thirst and Brocade Borders as well as the Brocade die cut

I simply cut three of the Brocade borders dies and embossed the Brocade border stamp on the cut out.  I layered them and sandwiched Spellbinders Fancy Tags in between the layers.  The sentiment is stamped on Spellbinders Classic Rectangles.  I tied a bow and added two flat pearls to finish.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Never Thirst, Brocade Borders
Paper:  Coredinations, K and Company
Ink:  Martha Stewart, Versamark
Accessories:  ODBD Brocade Borders Die, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders Classic Rectangles

Okay, now for the winner – I picked the number through Random.org and the number that came up was #73.  That corresponds with Becky Green.  Woohoo Becky, now’s your chance.  Reach out to me through my contact page within 48 hours to send me an email to claim your prize.  I’ll need your mailing address and the eight Double Play words if you have them.

Here’s the comment that Becky left:
Ok! Those are ALL SUPER frugal ideas!!!!! :) It was SO MUCH FUN reading these!!!! LOL I could see myself in alot of these!!! Becca! Thank you for providing us a chance to win some candy!!! You ALWAYS make it FUN!!! You’re THE EXPERT!!!! In fun and in card making!!! :)
My frugal idea? Well, I changed my appearance!!!! I cut my hair off— And I’m letting the color grow out!!!! So, no more coloring my hair!!! AND it takes me LESS TIME to get ready in the morning!!!! So, I get two things frugal for one!!! Don’t have to buy hair color and have more time to craft!!!! :)

Thanks to all for playing along.  The "I’m So Frugal" thread is awesome.

Congratulation to Becky. This was a fun hop, enjoyed reading all the comments. You crack me up! Every time you put out a “simple” card, it looks like you spent days on it. Just the difference in those of you with “real” talent and the rest of us, who stress our little creative brains for ideas. Luckily the ones who get our cards don’t usually get to see yours and others, so they can’t compare.ReplyCancel
