Hi there.  I have a subdued card today as I try to move closer to fall tones, I think that’s just how I’m feeling.  It’s still blazing summer around me so I guess in my heart I’m longing for fall.  I picked a superb sentiment by Quietfire Design called The Secret of Genius.   I decided to showcase it on a layer of Spellbinders Classic Diamonds and Spellbinders Labels Sixteen.  I added a ribbon and pearls to balance.

For decoration on the ends of the Labels Sixteen, I snipped through one of the vertical lines on Spellbinders Fancy Tags and that made it so that I could slip it over the end of my panel.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – The Secret of Genius
Paper:  Die Cuts With a View – Linen, Bazzill
Ink:  Versafine- Vintage Sepia
Accessories:   Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Spellbinders Classic Diamonds, Zva Creative Pearls, Ribbon

On another note, I wanted to share an event for a worthy cause that’s happening all over blog land.  A blog hop and auction to benefit the Susan G Komen Foundation.   A huge group of designers have a hop and auction going on – you can check out all the details HERE at the Skipping Stone Designs Blog.  Check out that list of talent!!!  Be sure to click and follow around to see the stunning cards that are being offered for auction – this started last week and the bids for the auctions close this Thursday at 8pm MST.  Kudos to Heather for organizing everything and persisting so we can work to beat breast cancer, one card at a time!!

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

I love your card. I too am longing for those crisp cool mornings, sunny afternoons and beautiful bursts of fall color.

I was traveling yesterday and stopped for a break. Someone had spilled dog food on the concrete and someone else had run over it. All the different colors were mixed together in an aray of fall colors. I kept thinking I could take a picture of that, enlarge it and print it off for a neat fall paper!
    It becomes obsessive!ReplyCancel

Hi there!  Knocking around the ole studio today I put together a card to show using two of my favorite colors.  By the way, do you have any idea how hard it is to match red, ugh…thus my black embossed sentiment :-)  I’m working today with two new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs called Never Thirst and Brocade Borders.    The sentiment and frame panel is cut out close to the stamping around the curves and contours of the frame using one of the Brocade Border Die Cuts from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I used my Martha Stewart border punch to cut the flap on the front of the card.  I used an EK Success Punch down the left side of the card which made a great set up for the pearls.  Using two different round EK Success punches I cut the hole in the flap, threaded the ribbon through and tied a bow.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Never Thirst, Brocade Borders
Paper:  The Paper Studio, Bazzill
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Our Daily Bread Designs Brocade Die Cut, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Pearls, May Arts Ribbon, EK Success Border Punch, EK Success 1-1/2" punch, EK Success 1-1/4" punch

Okay, back to working on my grumble, grumble, grumble misbehaving computer.  This too shall pass!!

See you soon!!

Oh how I know how hard it is to match reds. I did my nursery in my home for my twin granddaughters in red and black and discovered there are so many shades of red. Everytime I started a new project in there and tried to match the red, it was a struggle. I did it though. This card reminds me alot of the my crib bedding. I might just send you a picture.

You’re probably wondering where I’ve been.  I’m always only a keystroke away however over the last week or so I fought with my computer and the computer won!!  Sheesh it’s playing gotcha with me and at this point I’m crying uncle. I may have to wipe out my whole laptop, which I don’t want to do, so we’ll see how it goes.  I did take a break from the battle to make a card using one of the new JustRite Stampers Sets called Backyard Birds.
I used Spellbinders Labels Fifteen as the base for my focal panel and built it up using Lacey Squares and cutting a window with Standard Circles Small.  I love the Zva Creative Pearl Circles and in this case they really brighten the focal panel!  Everything is colored with Copic Markers.  On the inside I mounted a sentiment made by stamping a small portion of one of the borders and cutting it from Spellbinder Tags Five and mounting it on Labels Four.

Such a sweet image!!  I’ll be back with more this week :-)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stamps – Backyard Birds
Paper: Prima – Annalee: Avondale, Bazzill
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Fifteen, Standard Circles SM, Spellbinders Lacey Squares, Spellbinders Tags Five, May Arts Silk Ribbon – Taupe, Zva Creative Pearls, Copic Markers – RV32, B0000, B37 B34, B93, YR2

Happy Monday y’all!!

Yes I was wondering where you’ve been lately. You are my favorite blog to visit each day and it just doesn’t seem like you have been adding to your blog as often as you were. I was so worried that your husband was having health problems again, so I was quite relieved to know that it was your computer this time, although I do know what a hassle it can be to have to transfer all your “stuff” from one computer to another, or in your case “wipe it all out.” Hope whatever needs to be done, goes smoothly for you.ReplyCancel
