I have many friends that get so bogged down at Christmas time that they don’t get to send Christmas cards out!!!  Screeeeech, wait a minute .  . . that sounds oddly familiar.  Oh yeah, I didn’t send Christmas cards out last year.  Sad for a cardmaker to say, right?  Well for this year I wanted to make inexpensive "in money" but rich ‘in detail" cards to some of my girlies so that if they get in a bind, they can whip these out and there’s a homemade element to them.

I found these gorgeous cards at Michaels in the $1 bin they are simply ripe for personalization.  There’s enough room on the front that I can spice them up with some of my JustRite Stamps.  So in a matter of minutes I have a cheater’s card that has a touch of home made.

Today’s blog hop is ultra special!!  We’ll be doing this every Wednesday until November 24th just to show you all the neat things you can do with JustRite Stamps.  In fact to celebrate and to kick off the 12 week Christmas Blog Hop Wednesday – JustRite is offering a free shipping coupon code–for September 8, 9th,10th– please enter this code into the promotional code box at checkout CBHOP1 , the offer will expire at midnight PST and is only good for orders shipped within the United States and its US Territories.  (Oh, my budget likes this!!)

In each instance, the quick embellished card is on the left and the plain card base is on the right.  The above card uses a sentiment from Whimsical Christmas, and sits on a punched scallop and circle.

This card uses a sentiment from Hearts Come Home and the sweet holly leaves are from Holiday Cheer.  Spellbinders Fancy Tags fits well in the vertical space.

This next card uses a center and border from Something Sweet and is also layered with a punched scallop and circles.

This next card uses a center from Something Sweet and it is centered on Spellbinders Labels Fourteen.

This last card I cut up and used the flourishes on the headers inside my gift box.  With the three left over cards I simply covered where the word "celebrate" was using Spellbinders Fancy Tags and Ribbon Tags Trio Two.  It uses the simple sentiment, "I Believe" from the Christmas Nested Sentiments and Verse Set.

Just remember, Christmas will be here before you know it, lol!!  I hope you’re ready :-)

Card Recipe:
JustRite Stamps:  Whimsical Christmas, Hearts Come Home, Holiday Cheer, Something SweetChristmas Nested Sentiments and Verse
Paper:  Bazzill, American Crafts, Card Bases from Michaels $1 Bin
Ink:  Versamark, Colorbox Pigment – Cranberry
Accessories:  EK Success 1 1/2" Paper Punch, Paper Studio Scallop Punch, Spellbinders Classic Circles SM, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Ribbon, Pearls, Gold Embossing Powder

By the way, Becca, I received my FREE JustRite
catalog yesterday and have been dreaming and adding up all the things I think I can’t live without (oops – will have to do a little at a time). It didn’t surprise me that I was able to pick out the “Becca” cards without looking at the designer first.

Hi all and welcome back to Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!  If you weren’t with us last month, this team was started by Flourishes to truly showcase beauty in card making – whether it just be in a beautifully colored image, a fabulous way to incorporate an embellishment or a new twist on a card layout. Today kicks off our second challenge . . . as the leaves start to change colors to usher in fall, we want to see your Rustic Beauty.

Interpret this challenge however you like – want to use a little distressing?   Want to use shades of rust?  Want to use things that look aged or antiqued?  You choose!  Just make sure the end result has a rustic feel to it!   Link up your Bringing Back Beautiful Challenge card HERE. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB02. You have until September 30th to enter!  As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge!  Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!

As I thought of this challenge the golden tones of fall came to mind and then the glint of gold.  I picked some rustic tones and offset each layer in gold.  I created a tone on tone background using Damask Background and then used the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from the Autumn Flourishes set.  The focal panel of the card is set on Spellbinders Labels Seventeen  and a small tag adorned with leaves from Spellbinders On the Vine Border Grand is the next layer up.  I colored the leaves and vine with Adirondack ink pads.   Pearls and a multicolored bow with a pearl pick finish the card.  Even though it looks orange, the card is mainly gold and rust, I promise :-)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Damask Background, Autumn Flourishes
Paper:  Bazzill, K&Co, Vellum
Ink:  Versamark and clear embossing powder, Versafine Onyx Black, Adirondack Oregano, Rust, Butterscotch
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Seventeen, Spellbinders™ On the Vine Border Grand, Ribbon, Gold Pearls, Crystal Pen, EK Sucess Labels Punch

I hope you’ll join in and create a card that Brings Back Beautiful.  Don’t forget to hop around and see the cards created by all the other Beauty Girls.

Hello there, I hope you are having a fab weekend.  This month I was the hostess for the challenge over at Magnolia-licious.  Since this past month we’ve been working with a new collection called Bon Voyage, I thought it would be fun to make a card and a coordinating backpack or suitcase.  For details and links be sure to jump over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog.  Also, this is my last post for Magnolia-licious, so in many respects it is another Bon Voyage.  It’s a hard group to step down from, but I need to free up a little bit of time.  I’ve been with the group over a year and will miss everyone terribly.

For my card I’m using #3006 Tilda on the Loose.  Tilda is colored with Copic Markers and her dress is pieced.  I used a piece of textured paper to make the suitcase and I also used it as embellishment on the card and is cut with a border punch.  Tilda is cut from Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM and popped up on Spellbinders Beaded Ovals.  I had a fun little postage stamp that I used for embellishment that I popped up on Spellbinders Eyelet Squares

I don’t use brads very much any more but since I put them on the suitcase they seemed at home on the card.  A ribbon knot was the perfect place to nestle a pin with pearls and bobbles.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Magnolia-licious – #3006 Tilda on the Loose
Paper:  Bazzill, K&Co.
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM, Spellbinders Eyelet Squares, Spellbinders Beaded Ovals, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Brads, Ribbon

Hugs and smiles!!

    Hi Becca,
I’ve been mia for a week but I got back just in time to see one of the cutest cards of yours. It is no secrect that I am not the biggest fan of magnolia-licious, but this is just to stinken cute. I absolutely love it. The case is adorable, and the girl stamp is probably one of the cutest I’ve seen. Luv the cuttlebug embossing folder used. Sorry you are stepping down from one of your favorite stamp co. team’s. I know that they will definitely miss you. You will still be able to use their stamps thou and can always be a guest designer. Glad to be back.

I know you will be missed Becca. I think using the brads is a perfect embellishment. Tilda is colored and paper pieced so nicely. I love paper piecing but have never tried it. I love the allover design. As always Becca, TFS!!! and for starting my day off with some eye candy and a smile. :-DReplyCancel
