Hi there!  I fell in love with this paper when I purchased it last week.  Doesn’t it just make you oohh?   It’s so dreamy and serene!   So I created a simple card keeping as much of the bird open as I could.  Believe me, that’s not an easy feat for me, really!!   I picked a new Quietfire Design sentiment called You Are Never Too Old to Set Another.  WIth that sentiment the occasion possibilities for the card grow — graduation, birthday, trip, new house, school . . . I could go on :-)   I added a border around the edge of the main card panel using Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Borderabilities Petite.  The sentiment is stamped on Spellbinders Labels Fourteen and I decorated the ribbon using an elegant little piece from Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday.   I finished up with some Zva Creative pearls ask a flourish underneath the bird.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – You Are Never Too Old to Set Another
Paper:  Bazill, K&Co. – Susan Winget Nature
Ink:  Ancient Page – Calypso Blue
Accessories:  Spellbinders Fanciful Holidays, Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders, Spellbinders Fleur de LIs Boderabilities Petite, Ribbon, Zva Creative Pearls, The Paper Studio Brad

Becca, you make the most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen. I’ve been stamping a lo-o-o-ng time (20 years) and have seen LOTS of cards! Today’s card is especially gorgeous. Thank you for sharing it with us!
I have a question–I haven’t used the pearls that are arranged in a pattern like the ones on this card. I’ve seen them packaged in designs like this, and have wondered how difficult they are to use. Are they adhered to a clear backing that you attach in one piece?ReplyCancel

  • SuziSeptember 3, 2010 - 11:57 am

Your cards are not only beautiful, but inspiring and thought-provoking. You have a wonderful supply of sentiment stamps and use them so well. Love ’em!ReplyCancel

  • AlexandraSeptember 3, 2010 - 12:28 pm

This is another beautiful card Becca. I love how you look at small detail dies and see so much more. The swirly decoration on the ribbon is so pretty. When I looked at the die it came from, well it was okay, but combined with your imagination it’s so much prettier, all layered up and finished with the pretty pearl button. I’m more inclined to buy this one now, after seeing what the Becca magic can do with this.

Hello everyone! Welcome to our September Release Blog Hop!  Today is your first chance to see the sets in their entirety – some of the design team have tempted you with "slices" during the week, so now you get to see!!  You can take a peek at all the sets HERE.   If you arrived here from Kathy Jones, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog to get your bearings.  If for any reason a link along the hop is broken, simply return to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  to see who is next on the list :-)  Blog hop morning is a busy time for blogs so if you are unable to leave a comment, no worries, circle back to that blog at the end.

We want you to have fun and be able to zip through the hop so we’re keeping it simple!  There are no secret words to collect, no email to send, but there are still goodies up for grabs.  Three of our design team has prizes hidden throughout the hop – even the designers don’t know.  You’ll want to make your way through the entire hop for sure!

Here’s What You Need to Know to Win:

  • The Blog Hop runs from 8am EST on Wednesday, September 1 through 8pm EST on Thursday, September 2nd.

  • There will be 3 Winners . . . Up for grabs – 3 Gift certificates to shop in the ODBD Store.  Each person will win one and the denominations are $15.00, $20.00 and $25.00.

  • Winners will be randomly chosen from all the qualified entries by the three designers with the blog candy and will be announced on Saturday, September 4th on the ODBD Blog.

Here’s What You Need to Do to Win:

  • Hop to each blog of the Our Daily Bread Design team and leave a comment on each blog.

  • Return to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  and leave a comment that you completed the hop and left comments for each designer.

  • If for any reason you cannot leave a comment, please give us the name/s of the designers you were unable to leave comments for… and you’ll still be qualified for the drawing.

For my card today I’m using two of the Our Daily Bread Designs new sets – an elegant new frame from the Brocade Borders Set and a quote from the Peace set.  I created a card base using the new Spellbinders Grand Labels One.  My card measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square and there were still three more sizes larger.  I’m just amazed that with one cut of doubled paper, I could have my whole card base with a decorative edge!  On top of my base I layered Spellbinders Lacey Squares and Spellbinders Labels Sixteen.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Peace, Brocade Borders
Paper:  Bazzill, K&Co.
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Grand Labels One, Spellbinders Lacey Squares, Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Zva Creative Pearls, Ribbon

Your next stop along the way is to visit Angie Crockett!!

I promise, you won’t be disappointed!  Angie has a wonderful creation to share with you today.  In the meantime, thanks so much for stopping by!!

Clever way to get a nice shape on the card… […]ReplyCancel

I have two posts today, so once you’re done, be sure to scroll down and see the project I created for Our Daily Bread Designs HERE).

Hi there!!  I’ve had this neat Bazzill Glaze paper in my stash for a month or two at the top of the stack for when I started doodling with holiday cards.  I chose it today because the texture is amazing and the colors so rich.  I thought it work perfectly with a concept I had for a JustRite Stampers card.  My card today uses traditional Christmas colors and I added a bit of distressing to give it a little bit of vintage feel.  I’ve taken a couple of pictures so you can see the dimension and the openings.  I’m using elements from three different sets  including one of the borders from Whimsical Christmas, the border from Christmas Ornaments  and a sentiment from Christmas Nested Frames

I’ve taken an odd angle shot here (from above) but just to give you an idea of the dimension of the card.  The banner is bowed and at the bottom of the card you can see through the holes.  I cut the borders with Spellbinders Classic Circles SM and Standard Circles LG and then glued them in place.  Later I threaded the ribbon through and tied a bow finished off by a bright red pearl.

Here with the card closed the red from the inside shows through and provides a nice contract.  I love the texture on the card – the bottom pattern is Holly and the top is Stripes – and has the same effect if you had stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Card Recipe:
JustRite Stampers:  Whimsical Christmas (Catalog page 3), Christmas Ornaments (Catalog page 5), Christmas Nested Frames (Catalog page 18), Paper:  Bazzill Glaze, Bazzil
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Circles LG, Spellbinders Classic Circles SM, Ribbon, Pearl, Tombow Markers

I didn’t want to forget to tell you today is the last day to get your free catalog from JustRite Stampers.  You can see the details and get the coupon code from THIS post.  Have a great day!!

Hey Becca, I am so glad I found your blog. I have seen some Just Rite stampers, but didn’t know much about them. So I requested a free catalog. It came yesterday! I can only say WOW! There are so many beautiful stamps. But the versatility is the biggest and bestest part :) So I’m going through it slowly… page by page. And am making my list. Of course I won’t be able to afford to buy a bunch at once. (I live on a fixed income) But I am amazed at the low pricing! I think I’ll start off with a kit and then add to it a bit at a time. I like the oval stamper with a font. Then I could add to it. When I decide to order, do contact one of you gals, Or go to the website?

Thanks for sharing all the lovely creations.ReplyCancel

Norma, you said it best “Jesus is the reason for the season”, sadly so many get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season and we forget the true meaning of Christmas. I hope everyone is having a happy and blessed week.ReplyCancel
