Hi there, this is what you get when you start out trying to give someone a simple gift and your mind runs away with you, lol!! I have a Starbucks Card for a dear friend of mine and while I was getting it, my gaze wandered over the cardboard cozy holders that you get at both Starbucks and I found out later, Panera Bread. At first I was going to decorate one of the cozy holders and put the gift card inside but then it grew into a book :-) For the decoration I settled on the wonderful Scripture Sets (Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Set 4 and Series 1) from Our Daily Bread Designs. Below you can see the brown from my gift card peeking out from the first page.
To finish up, I took one of the cozies for a cover. I hid the Panera logo and added a ribbon just to make it a little bit dressy! It was not a complicated project at all and once done I was a little bit proud of my recycling effort. I hope my friend likes it.
Project Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Scripture Sets 1, 2, 3, 4 and Scripture Series 1, Light
Paper: K&Company, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossing powder
Accessories: Slice, Tab Punch, Coffee Cup Cozies, Martha Stewart Border Punches, Binder Rings, Ribbon, Pearls |

Hi there. All weekend it’s been that kind of rainy weather that makes you want to curl up with coffee and good book. Hopefully this means that the cooler weather is on the way. I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the next season!! I like days like this but really had to fight that temptation to lounge and instead try to get a couple of things done. I had this card in the works so I sat down and finished by coloring up this #290 Chinese Tilda available at Magnolia-licious, how cute is she? She is from the Bon Voyage Collection that includes several different international Tilda’s – all as cute as this one.
I colored this sweet little Tilda with Copics and cut her out with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen. I popped her up on a layer of Spellbinders Lacey Circles and Labels Eight. A bow, flower and brad finish things up. For a sentiment I applied a rub on to a punched scrap and hung it from the brad.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Magnolia-licious – #290 Chinese Tilda
Paper: Memory Box, Bazzill, The Paper Company
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Fourteen, Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders Lacey Circles, May Arts Ribbon, Prima Flower, K&Co Brad, Pearls, Lasting Impression Rub On Sentiments

A delightful afternoon. That’s what I had :-) Just got some new rubber in from Quietfire Designs, rustled up a pot of coffee, gave my favorite guy a peck on the cheek and disappeared into the studio to relax. I didn’t have long, but long enough to pull this together from one of the beautiful new sentiments that Suzanne has put to rubber. This card uses the Words of Love sentiment and even though it can be used for Valentines Day, I made my card for as a Wedding Card instead (with the thought in the back of my mind that I can pull it out for either an anniversary or just an I Love You card).
I wanted a classic look like a black and white tuxedo so I kept things simple. Just one layer backed by a border and I popped up the Spellbinders Labels Sixteen. The Flourishing Inside Hearts are also a new Quietfire stamp so I decided to add them as a splash of red. I’m using a length of organdy you normally get on the wedding aisle that’s about 6 inches wide and it makes for a lovely bow when you fluff it out. Pearls just didn’t do the job so I dug out some rhinestones. That’s about it for me today – off to watch a good movie. Hope you’re having a great weekend too.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Words of Love, Flourishing Inside – Hearts
Paper: Xpedx Brilliant White Cover – 130 lb
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Colorbox Pigment Ink – Cranberry
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Martha Steward Border Punch – Layered Arches, Rhinestones, Ribbon, Organdy |
Thanks for peeking in on me today.

Hi Becca- had to comment this morn cuz this sure left a smile on my face! I have thought and thought about these things while waiting at SBucks…lol…NOW..IF I had only a “bit” of your natural talent….hmmm…lololo hugs, jane :)
Amazing! I need to get someone to save their cozies for me!
I’ve been saving these for a while using them for making booklets. But I love the idea of these as a book of gift cards…awesome. And as always, truly gorgeous designs!
Oh she will LOVE it, very cute, creative and great recycling!
LOVE THIS !!!
My sister is a “coffee person” lives for it truly – so this would be a great gift with a personal touch for her.
Thanks for all the inspiration.
Isn’t it amazing how your mind works after a while. We all start to think of “what can I do with this” and it seems to snowball from there. Great use of the coffee cozies.
Only you could have come up with such a wonderful gift. I would have just had my coffee (really chi tea) and thrown the cozie away! One’s trash can become another’s treasure. Beautiful job Becca!
I’ve been saving the coffee cup cozies from Panera Bread for a long time. I knew they’d make good layers for a card. I’m always keeping my eyes peeled for interesting things to put on my cards. Thanks for the book idea. I hadn’t come up with that idea!
I sure wish I was your friend and receiving the gift card holder! What a neat idea. TFS. Have a blessed day.
[…] I have two posts today, so once you’re done, be sure to scroll down and see the project I created for Our Daily Bread Designs HERE). […]
Very clever! I like the idea of using everyday things in a special way. Also like that you were able to use a bunch of your edge punches. ; )
Becca, this is so clever! I had a several of the “cozies” and finally decided to throw them out, b/c I could not think of how to “gift” them. I’ll start collecting them again when I get coffee and give this project a try!
I would never of thought of using the cup cosies to make a booklet. That is quite amazing. Did you add a comment that once used it could be returned to you for a refill? Just kidding, but what a wonderful way to surprise your friend. Now she has both the coffee/tea and the scriptures to read while she enjoys her treat. Best way to get a gift!
Becca, you’re always so clever and creative. I love coming to your blog each day to see what marvelous creation you have to share. Love everything you make and always feel a positive and loving vibe. Thanks for always sharing yourself with all of us.
This truly made me smile. What a delightful idea. We just had coffee there this morning, and did I think to save my cosie, NO. Well you know I will now. Your talent is amazing.
Dee
You are so talented. You amaze me with your creations. This is fabulous.
Sally Gasparri
Becca you out did yourself on this. It is so adorable.
Very creative! Great stuff… thanks for sharing!
This is the cutest idea ever! I have a whole stack of those cozies… You know us crafters… save everything that could possibly add texture to a card or scrap page.
Your card is just beautiful! Love the water pump!
It is amazing to me the things you come up with ! Wish I had a mind like that – absolutely love this!
