This has been languishing on my desk for over a year.  My hope was to make a card for one of my stamping addicted friends like me.  You have to read the whole sentiment to get it.  Then to make it funny ha-ha, the folder opens up to reveal a gift card so that she can go buy some more stamps! (snicker)   I mean what are friends for?  Now don’t be mad but this is one of my favorite Wordsworth stamps and apparently it is retired because I’ve not been able to locate it.  Of course it can certainly be computer generated . . .

I made the little file folder with cream cardstock and Tim Holtz die cut.  Then smudged everything with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I had this little piece of metal hardware handy so  I added it to keep the folder closed.  If you are having trouble seeing the small print, simply click on the picture for a larger version.

The inside reveals a place to stash a gift card or something nice.   I hope my friend gets a kick out of this :-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

GREAT card! I remember this stamp . . . I never purchased it, but I recall my friends and I getting a good laugh over it. I have a friend who has a couple sisters, one of whom is also a stamper and scrapbooker. Many of us get together every so often for a “stamping bee” where we work on projects, share ideas and techniques, and just have a good time socializing with one another. One of their sisters calls it a “cult” and warns other not to get involved! LOLReplyCancel

    Love it!
Since I don’t have the stamp and may choose to computer generate it for my friend about to have surgery…I may “alter” it a bit. Put 11 steps on the outside and put step 12 on the inside where the card holder is and make it say:

    12. Who am I kidding? I’m going shopping!ReplyCancel

LOL! I just love this! I live in a small 2 bedroom condo and about 6 months ago moved my craft room from the 2nd smaller bedroom to the much larger master bedroom. After all I only sleep in the bedroom, and I don’t need all that space to sleep in. But, I need it it to store all my stamps, papers, tools, etc, and to create in! In truth it is mostly my daughter’s tools and supplies as she needed a place away from her 3 children under 5 to keep her things from 6 little hands, but I think I would have made the same move even if she hadn’t transferred her things over here.ReplyCancel

LOL, you lost me by #3! I afraid that I don’t even want to sign up for the 12 step program! Great card and I’m sure that your friend will get a major kick out of it. I also have to agree with Lori, when she says that she wouldn’t have anyone “worse” than she is to send it to!

However, I “justify” it by sending lots of cards to Operation Write Home. This organization collects handmade cards (blank on the inside) from all over the country and ships them to our armed services overseas. They use them to write home to their loved ones. If anyone else is interested in this marvelous organization you can Goggle them.

Thanks for sharing this very funny card with us!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I was going back thru your blog to catch up on postings when I got behind while I was on vacation. I am so glad I saw this!!!

I have a dear friend who has had her eye on a certain stamp set since Feb. I bought it to give to her on her birthday or special event. They have been going thru a lot of financial crunches with the economy cutbacks. Things are hopefully starting to look up for them. She has been a dance teacher for many yrs and is also my Stampin Up! demo. She has decided to open her own dance studio and just got approved for her loan this past Wednesday. I think I will send her this card and the stamp set as a congratulations gift. She will love the 12 step list!!! She usually frames things like this to hang in her craft studio.

I think God made me not see this until just now. I may have just liked it for me and not though of her until now. I have been pondering a good way to send her the stamp set. This will be perfect!!!ReplyCancel

Hi there!!  I know I’ve been quiet.  I was having some blog updates done in the background and am still working out a couple of kinks.  But, I do have a card to share today.  This is actually the sentiment I couldn’t fit on my card last week.   With a little bit of time to think, I brought it back to try again.  What a powerful saying by Anne Frank, and it’s so true!

I love stamping on design paper and I simply colored this up with a couple of Copic Markers.  Because the image is so small I kept things simple with shading and such so that the color didn’t bleed outside the lines.  Honestly, it took all of 2 minutes to color this up.   I nestled the focal image inside a flap made with Spellbinders Labels Five.  After adding a border with Scalloped Borderabilities Petite and Big Scalloped Borderabilities Petite, I tied a bow and embellished with some tiny pearls.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  American Art Stamps
Paper:  We R Memory Keepers – Grandma’s Kitchen, Bazzill, The Paper Company, K & Co.

Ink:  Versafine and clear embossing powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Labels Five, Spellbinders™ Classic Scalloped Borderabilities Petite, Spellbinders ™ Big Scalloped Borderbilities Petite, May Arts Ribbon, Recollections Pearls

By the way, thank you so much for playing Double Play and participating in the recent Blog Candy.  Our lucky Blog Candy winner won the bonus also!!  That lucky duck had all the words – she emailed me that she was traveling but managed to get online at the right times to snag the words.  What determination!!  Congrats again Donna!!   I have to say that it is my pleasure to try to make things a little bit fun around here.

Thanks for stopping by.  I’m working on the next Double Play, some tutorials and some heartfelt stamping. :-)
