Popping in to share a quick Father’s Day Card.  My oh my, hasn’t it been a month of men’s cards?  I’m still feeling my way but I think the more you work with it the more comfortable you feel :-)  So this is yet another of the April Sets from Our Daily Bread Designs and now I’m so pleased to have some "men" material in my stash.  This set called Happy Father’s Day doubles for cards made for any masculine occasion.

For the focal image I backed Spellbinders™ Labels Twelve with one of my favorites, Spellbinders™ Cherry Pickin’.  It’s a classic shape and I use it by simply cutting it and not embossing the cherry images.  For the sentiment I cut it first with Spellbinders™ Labels Eight to give it that little peak then glued that cut out shape to Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals SM, backed by Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Ovals LG and lastly by Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals LG.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Happy Fathers Day
Paper:  Bazzill, K & Co.
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Labels Twelve, Spellbinders™ Cherry Pickin’, Spellbinders™ Labels Eight, Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals SM, Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Ovals LG, Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals LG, twine, Making Memories Brads, clear embossing powder

Just a note to tell you hubby had a spectacular birthday the least of which was reading all the sweet comments you left.  He was stuck speechless by your kind words :-)

Happy Birthday, Baby!!

I do have a card to share today but first I wanted to wish my sweet and crazy husband a happy birthday!!  He is truly a miracle and for every birthday he shares, I feel like I’m the one getting the gift.   He is the love of my life and for the last 28 years, I’ve known that I was a lucky, lucky woman!  I snapped this picture a couple of months ago when we were in San Antonio.  Lol, he’ll be a little shocked today to see his picture on the blog – from time to time he helps me out  behind the scenes and when he wants to make me smile he calls himself Mr. Becca.  (That’s a joke – he’s a funny, funny guy).  So many of you have prayed for him and we both thank you.  In the meantime, we’re holding up the celebration for just a minute, long enough for me to get a blog post up and then back to the festivities.

On to my card for the day – I made this a couple of days ago, and contemplated rearranging things but decided to just go with it.   The card is made up of eight squares that I stacked then interlocked –
Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG and Spellbinders™ Classic Squares SM.  The more I look at it Escher comes to mind.  I didn’t want to cover up the squares so I stamped directly on them and I really debated the ribbon, but it needed something more than just the geometrics.   I simply love, love, love the Spellbinders™ Cross Collection – it’s has so many uses including the obvious so I tucked each cross under the edge of my square for a look that I really like.  The sweet little flower in the center is from Spellbinders™ Flourish Accents set.

This goes off in the mail tomorrow for my mother, whose birthday is in a week.  I used one of the new Our Daily Bread Designs sets that cover "Mother Occasions".  Happy Birthday is stamped on the inside but this verse from the Mom set says it all!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Mom
Paper:  The Paper Company – Cream White, Solar White, K & Co.
Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Squares LG, Spellbinders Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders Cross Collection, Spellbinders Flourish Accents, Pearls, Ribbon

You all bless me every day!  I don’t take it for granted that you stop by – thank you from the bottom of my heart!

My wishes for the most fantastic day of “Mr. Becca’s” life!!! He looks like a wonderful person and husband. My love of my life and I have been married for 50 years now and he is 73 years young. He is another exceptional gentleman and friend. I think that your work is so amazing Becca! Every time I think you have outdone yourself and couldn’t possible do it again, you go and do something like this! I am another of those mumbling under my breathe, that I MUST have another Spellbinders die! I almost wish they would stop creating new ones, NOT! However, I think I need to find someone who will subsidize my purchases of their wonderful dies. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful creations every day!ReplyCancel

Happy Birthday to your hubby! My hubby’s birthday is today (4/22)! We have been married 26 1/2 years. I went to a fun card class today (which is still yesterday – 4/21). It was a waxed 3D napkin card class. I came home and finished the fussy cutting on the second card and applying light layers of stickles. Both cards turned out gorgeous!ReplyCancel

    Becca,
As always, your creations are simply elegant and blessed. It is so humble and wonderful of you to wish your husband a Happy Birthday on your blog. Both of you are lucky to have each other. May the Lord continue to bless you and yours. Thank you for sharing your inspiration. Here is a birthday prayer I’ve written for my bookmarks:

    1 John 4:7
    Loving One Another
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

    Dear and Precious Lord,
I ask that You pour out Your blessings upon my dear husband and surround him with Your Holy Spirit, on this special day of his birth. Hold him close, Lord, so that he may continue to bless those who cross his path. Guide him, Lord, so that his feet may continue to walk in Your Light, for You are the greatest gift that he can receive.
    In Your Holy Name.
    Amen

Have you been waiting for new JustRite releases?  Well, they are here and those that are releasing later on this month can be pre-ordered directly with JustRite.  Pre-ordering is  NEW with JustRite Stampers and you can see the particulars on how it works at the end of my post.  In the meantime, you can see the new sets HERE and today for our Blog Hop you will get to see samples of all of the new sets as you hop around.  The set I’m working with is called Kaleidoscope, a dreamy flourished set of centers that exudes pure elegance.

I created a glammed up card using my favorite color combination – gold and cream.  There are three sets of medallions each with different centers however I used the same sentiment on the border.  For the medallions I used Spellbinders™Standard Circles SM #2 and Spellbinders™Standard Circles LG #3, #4 and #5 along with Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Circles LG #3.  My card is the size of a business envelope and I created the front by cutting three openings in my cardstock and nestling each medallion within the frame created.  I punched a hole through all thicknesses and the ribbon is threaded straight up through the frame so that the bow can be tied on top.  It was very convenient that my brad fit right in the hole I punched :-)  I like the format of the card but three bows may be a tad too much.  Next time around I’ll do one medallion, one bow I think.  Today I wanted to show you as many of the centers from this set as I could.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stamps – Kaleidoscope
Paper:  Martha Stewart (Walmart), Best Occasions Metallic Paper Pack (Walmart – Discontinued), The Paper Company – Cottonwood
Ink:  Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders™Standard Circles SM, Spellbinders™Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Circles LG, Ribbon, Pearl Brad (Michaels)
