I’ve got a secret, I’ve got a secret.  Psst…remember when I used this stamp last year?  Well, I did.   I pulled it out of my stash and people came out of the woodwork wondering where to get it.  Hanging my head, I had to admit that the stamp was retired.  Well, no more!!  Penny Black brought this stamp back out of retirement so if you were one of the ones desperate to get it – you can get it HERE.  This is seriously one of my most prized stamps and I am a Penny Blackaholic.  I’ve collected these sweet little girls for years and am so psyched that  many of them are coming out of retirement.  Woohoo!  You can go see this and many of the new cling mounted stamps that have been reintroduced at Stamper’s Dream.  Michelle just got a huge shipment of them in yesterday!

This one is called Star Ballerina and I colored her up with Copic Markers.  I don’t think there could be a more perfect background to go with this sweet little angel than the Impression-Obsession Gingham Background block.

Here are the Copics that I used today:

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Stamper’s Dream (Penny Black) – Star Ballerina, Stamper’s Dream (Impression-Obsession) – Gingham Background
Paper:  Prism Simply Smooth, Bazzill
Ink:  Pink Dye Based Ink
Accessories:  Ribbon, Prima Flower, Buttons

You still have some time to enter for the current blog candy – I’ll be picking a winner tonight.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.

OMG – love this – colors – ruffle – stamp and all. BEAUTIFUL is the only word I can use to describe it. Thanks for sharing.ReplyCancel

Ok girlfriends, while we’re admitting what we boo hoo to, I have an admission to make.  Although I don’t watch much television other than the news, every once in a while there are two commercials that come on that get. me. every. time.  Those two commercials are the ones for the ASPCA with Sarah McLaughlin.  They totally wreck me . . . my kids now spring for the remote control and make me look away.  Too many times they have walked into the den to see me sitting there with saucer eyes.  Sniff, thank goodness I’m a proud crier.  Speaking of boo hooing, there’s still a day left to leave a comment for the Blog Candy Encore HERE.

In the meantime I’ve created a new box to share; I call it a Peek-A-Boo Box.  I wanted to be able to show what was inside the box and at the same time customize it with my JustRite Stamps.  I started by creating a clear box to act as a sleeve and then the inner box that I could personalize, then I just jazzed it up a little bit with oval windows.  On this box I used the pretty tulips from THIS to-die-for JustRite Set.  For the oval windows and the oval medallions I used Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG

The front of the box features JustRite Breath of Spring Borders and Centers and the opposite side features JustRite Seeds of Kindness Borders and Centers.  On the inside of the box I have four smaller clear boxes that contain scented tea lights.  The top and bottom of the box is made using Spellbinders Fair Isle Pendant and then a strip of acetate forms the walls.

I cut motifs from my design paper to accent the tops of each small box using Spellbinders Classic Squares SM.

Here you can see the individual boxes a little bit better.

For the Copic Colors here’s what I used.  Yesterday I used lots of colors but today I wanted to specifically show that you can get very pleasing results on these line drawn images using just two of each color – the images are so flexible, easy and forgiving ;-)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:
JustRite Breath of Spring Borders and CentersJustRite Seeds of Kindness Borders and Centers
Paper:  My Minds Eye, White Cardstock
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG, Spellbinders Squares SM, Spellbinders Pendant, Copic Markers, Acetate, Pearls

Well, that’s all for me today, I’m so enjoying reading your favorite tear-jerkers; I’m adding many to my movie list!

Gorgeous box, and I love the coloring. Just got some copic markers to play with but feel intimidated, seeing what everyone does with them to create such beautiful masterpieces, and am hoping sometime to take a copics coloring course to get some good tips and techniques too. I know what you mean about crying and commericals, those telephone ones used to get me–those that dealt with family who were far away and would surprise loved ones just by being there–I couldn’t watch them without shedding a few tears either!

Terrific job as always, you always inspire me!

Hey there friends . . . say, before I forget, I have a Blog Candy Encore going on and you can enter every day til Friday at noon by going HERE to leave a comment.  Psst . . . be sure to read the post so you know what I”m looking for in your comment.

Now, on to todays card.   Oh how I love Victorian Houses.  Michelle at Stampers Dream sent me this special one and it was a pure delight to color it up.  Of course before delving into it I looked at pictures online and got carried away for hours sifting through pictures of restored victorian houses, what a piece of nostalgia and history.  This one is from Impression-Obsession is called Victorian House and I swear anyone can color this because the shading is already done for you.  I love this artist!

When I saw this stamp I thought it would make a perfect welcome home card (or house warming, or welcome to the neighborhood).  Mine has a special side pocket and when you pull the tab, out comes a tag that says Welcome Home.

Now this is a large card at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and I was tickled that I already have envelopes to work with that size card.  For those who also ask what copic colors I used, I have them listed below.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Stampers Dream using Impression-Obsession – Victorian House
Paper:  Bazzill, CTMH
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories:  Copic Markers, Martha Steward Photo Corners Punch, EK Success Scroll Punch, Ribbon, Buttons, Making Memories Rub On Letters

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Your “Welcome Home” card is lovely. Love the colors and the stamp. I am just getting started with a collection of copic markers, and love that you have created a way to display the colors you used on your cards. How did you come up with that? Now back to your list of movies that make you cry, my favs are: Brian’s Song, Pay it Forward, and Marlee & Me ( the one that brings out the animal lover in me).
I don’t care how many times I see these, or the fact that I laugh through most of the movie, when the sad part hits I blubber like a baby!!!!! Have a great day, and keep on creating.ReplyCancel

Such a Lovely way to welcome someone home! I love that you’ve added the tag behind that gorgeous victorian house too.. clever girl you! OK, another fav of mine is “Terms of Endearment”.. I cannot watch this movie without a box of tissues by my side. I loved Jack and Shirley together and could imagine them as a ‘real life’ couple, they were great together! .. and who could forget Shirley running through the nurses station screaming “give my daughter the shot! I loved Jeff Daniels in dumb and dumber, but this was a more serious role and I thought he was great .. but the true star was Debra Winger, saying goodbye to her kids and the final moments when she looked her mom in the eyes and then passed OMG, I bawled like a baby! Very touching movie!~ReplyCancel

This card is one of your usual “Best Ever”. We are in the process of selling our house and I will be moving shortly (I hope). This might be a great card to send to indicate a new address. Maybe I’ll be lucky enough to find a new house that looks as lovely as this house.ReplyCancel

day 4 of blog candy~~~ a touching movie that will bring a tear to the eye with its beautiful songs and magical story is Lion King. It is a story of loss and courage and family. It may not be a 1 box tissue movie but its message of love brought tears to my eyes.

Your blog is wonderfull place. Yesterday I so all your art works, they are gorgeous. Your colouring is so amazing, and you have so many idea for cards and for spellbinders products. I’m starting my experience with spellbinders, and colouring, and your blog is very inspiring. We have in Poland some shops with spellbinders products, but they are more expensive than in USA and the range is so small. I will visit your blog regularly, to admire your art works and for inspiration.ReplyCancel
