If you arrived here from Julie Warner, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog to be sure you hop in the correct order.  Why?  We are having a Scripture Hop, and you will be collecting our Secret Scripture Words as you hop along, and since you’ll have to assemble them in the correct order, you will want to pick them up in the order given!

Here are the Rules:

  • You have til Thurs. Feb 4th at 8:00PM EST to finish the requirements & be eligible to win.

  • There will be THREE BLESSED WINNERS. . . who will each receive a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the Our Daily Bread Designs Store to go toward the stamps of your choice!

  • Winners will be randomly chosen from all the qualified entries.

Here is what you need to do to be eligible to win:

  •  Hop from blog to blog in the order given below, writing down the secret words you will find clearly in their post, and you must leave a comment on each blog.

  •  Email  Grace at:  gnywening@yahoo.com and give her the secret words you found in the correct order . . . .  they will spell out a Scripture verse.

  •  For an extra chance to win, send her another email telling her the Scripture reference where the verse can be found.

If for any reason a link is broken, simply return to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog  to see who is next on the list, leaving a space for the missing words.  Most often if you can’t get on a blog or leave a comment now…. if you wait a little while and try again you usually can.

Now on to my project.  I did a card using the new set by Our Daily Bread Designs called Sing for Joy.

I stacked two Spellbinders™ Labels Four on top of two Spellbinders™ Labels Eight which are decorated with two Spellbinders™ Fleur de Lis Pendants that are cut down the center and spread to embellish the Labels Eight.  I smudged all layers with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  For the smaller Labels Eight, I stamped Our Daily Bread Designs – Amazing Grace.

The design is finshed off with ribbon and a vintage button.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Sing for Joy, Amazing Grace
Paper:  Vintage Findings – Making Memories, The Paper Company, Bazzill, The Paper Studio – Solid Gold Pearl
Ink:  Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Labels Eight, Spellbinders™ Labels Four, Spellbinders™ Fleur de Lis Pendant, Ribbon, Vintage Button

So now, the secret Scripture words you need to pick up from Amazing Paper Grace are —
has nowhere
.

OMGoodness, now you are in for a real treat!  I’m sending you on to see the amazing Dawn Lusk, you can just bet she has colored up something so masterfully you’ll gasp when the screen opens!

  • Traci S.February 2, 2010 - 6:31 pm

    Dear Becca,

I love how rich this piece of yours looks. I love the back ground paper. It looks like all 4 corners go to the middle…where the verse is located. The antique colored sheet-music adds a touch to this that I feel when I walk in to a very old church. The pews can almost feel all of the generations who have used them.

Your bow is beautiful and seems to wrap itself all the way around this special gift…These words inspired by Him.

Thank you for sharing this with me/us!

A quick card to share with you today using one of the newer Flourishes sets called Fancy Labels.  I knew exactly what I was going to do when I originally sat down and ended up with something that was 180 degrees different; lol, I know that happens to all of us.  In this card I used pairings of Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM and Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG along with Spellbinders™ Classic Squares SM and Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG to make each set of frames.  The frilly frame is made with a Martha Stewart Border Punch used along with the matching corner punch.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes
Paper:  My Minds Eye – Laundry Line, The Paper Company – Classic Red, Cream White
Ink:  Colorbox Pigment – Cranberry
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG, Spellbinders™ Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM, Martha Stewart Eye Border Punch and Corner Punch, Red Gems, Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder

I’ll see you tomorrow for the ODBD February Blog Hop.  I hope you’ll stop by to see the new sets and what all the talented designers have done with them :-)

Beautiful yet again Becca! I’ve been looking back over your whole blog, month by month and then by categories, and I’m in awe of your work. I really love your organizing methods too! Tell me please, what’s your favorite size ribbon…you know…the one you go to most often for those gorgeous bows? My next thing to accomplish is to learn how to make pretty bows for my cards. Thanks so much for the very talented ideas!! Have a great February! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work!

This is gorgeous Becca. I love how you framed the central focal point. That MS punch is going on my wish list. Sometimes you see a punch or die and it doesn’t appeal to you until you see it put to use and, you certainly have done that. Another winner Becca. TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel

I’ve had a lot of email with questions about the AllDeco punches as well as conversation about where to get them.    I’ve not been able to find an online review of them but there are several things I can tell you.

What is it?

This is a modular system that comes with a punch holder that is made of two pieces (held together magnetically) and punches divided into two pieces.  The bottom of the punch is seated in the bottom of the holder and the top of the punch is seated in the top of the holder.

How does it work?

To punch, you begin with your bottom holder and arrange your paper next followed by the top holder.  This allows you to punch anywhere on a page.   The holder allows the top and bottom pieces to pivot through 360 degrees so that you can punch on four sides of a motif making a square or circle.

The upside?

You can punch anywhere on a piece of paper and the designs are gorgeous.  The modular design is space saving and convenient.

The downside?

The punch is finicky about the weight of paper it will punch through.  A text weight paper like typing paper will work however it balks at cardstock.  I’ve been able to use very thin cardstocks, but nothing heavy.  The top punch holder feels very fragile and I’m sure that pushing on this issue will cause it to break.  Readers have also said that the punches are expensive.

Where have I used them?

If you haven’t been a part of the dialogue, these are the posts where I have used these punches.

Where to begin to look?

Several vigilant readers have scoped out sites where they have seen the elusive AllDeco Punch.  They have reported that the punches which are made internationally but are no longer being produced.  Several have also said that the punches themselves are available the punch holders are not – that leads me to believe that the top piece breaks very easily and that some users have purchased an additional holder.

Please understand, I do not know these vendors and cannot vouch for them.  I am happy to share these web addresses forwarded by readers and I thought it best to publish them in one place for those who want to explore.  For those who have emailed, I hope this answers your questions and please forgive the delay in answering.
