First, let me tell you that I’m working on a much requested tutorial that I did not manage to have finished tonight, but should in the next day or so – be sure you keep checking back.  Otherwise, I promised a review of 2009 and frankly it was kinda fun to look back and see some of the things I made that became my favorites and perhaps yours too *wink*.  I’m almost embarrassed to do this because you have asked for tutorials on many of the things I’m showing and time slipped by so very quickly. I also realized during this exercise that my blog is not very archive friendly, in other words it’s hard to go back and find things.  I’ll have to do some research to find out how I can remedy that.  In the meantime, here are what I consider highlights of 2009.

It would not have been the same with out you!  Thanks for the memories!!

I look forward each day to see what new “Amazing” creation you have posted. You’re my first blog stop every day! I hope you can find a way to archive your beautiful work – I spent some time just yesterday searching for the white card done with the poinsettia border. It was posted earlier than I remembered, but I enjoyed the scroll back through all the beautiful creations until I found it. I sincerely hope that you are well compensated by companies such as Spellbinders – you have caused me to “need” products that I had not looked at twice until you showed me how beautiful they could be! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for sharing your God given talent with us!ReplyCancel

My dear Becca, you are truly an amazing artist and I thank you for sharing your talents with the rest of us. You inspire me to do better work. After reading your post about your family medical problems I feel an even closer kinship to you, as I too have been dealing with hubby’s chronic illness/disability for 35+ years, since our children were very young. I give you so much credit for being able to pursue your own craft in the midst of such turmoil. I know firsthand how impossible that can be most of the time. I look forward to each new post from you and consider you a new blessing in my life.

    Hi Becca,
I love seeing your amazing and beautiful cards all lined up like this! By the way, there is a way of searching for particular cards you’ve blogged using Google Reader. If you know the title you gave the blog (such as this one, “Thanks for the Memories”) you can scroll down through your blog on the Google Reader and call each one back up immediately. If you can give us the title of each of the blogs for these cards, we can find the original details. I’d love that! Thanks for sharing all of your cards, your creativity and your fabulous inspiration! Hugs to you.ReplyCancel

Hello there friends!  So glad you liked my duckies – so I’m back to share one more baby design.  I admit that these designs might not fall square into my comfort zone but with the template I used – everything fell into place very easily.  This is a tissue holder that goes in a baby’s room.  It takes the upright type of tissue box and the four sided design fits right over top.

The new baby template, Spellbinders™ S5-020 Nursery Time Frameabilities® fit perfectly on all four sides with just a little bit of margin.  It makes for a cover that’s slightly taller than the tissue box but once the tissues are threaded through – it makes no difference.  (Hint:  To see the detail on the pictures below you really need to click on each picture to see the larger version).

For each of the frames I used Whitewash Coredinations and after embossing, buffed the raised areas with file paper so that the darker color would show.  For each of the open stencil areas I used glitter.  Two frames come with this set so I opted to use the smaller frame inside the larger frame to bring down the openness and make the frame a little more cozy.  Inside each  I stamped the words Welcome Baby which is from an Our Daily Bread Designs set that came out this month – Noahs Ark!  On the top of the box I used Spellbinders™ S4-247 Labels Twelve and embellished with Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Noahs Ark
Paper:  K&Co, Coredinations Whitewash
Ink:  Versamark and White Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ S5-020 Nursery Time Frameabilities®, Spellbinders™ S4-247 Labels Twelve, Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags

Thanks so much for stopping by, I so appreciate it!

I wanted to share something really out of character and fun that I made last month but couldn’t post until now.  As you know there are tons of fun new Spellbinders templates that were revealed and out soon.  One of the new templates that I had an opportunity to play around with included these fun duckies.  The first thing that came to mind was pull toy I remember as a child.  So, I sat down to recreate the toy.

How cute is that duck!  All I did was cut a pair of each of the three sizes of ducks that comes in the Spellbinders™ S4-262 Nested Ducks set.  I found three different sized ribbon spools (empty) and covered them with design paper  and  poked a hole in two opposite sides of the spool ring before gluing them in place with Zip Dry Glue.   I also glued on unfinished wooden wheels in graduated sizes and topped them off with teeny tiny buttons.  To finish off I threaded a cotton cord through each of the ducks and tied knots at the end.  I fashioned a handle with two of the left over wooden wheels with a Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Circles LG sandwiched in between.  The eye is a little white pearl that I painted black with my Copic Marker.  Oops, don’t let me forget the little orange bows.  Every once in a while ya gotta have fun, right!!  I thought this would be perfect to accompany a baby gift or as a center piece.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  None
Paper:  Bazzill
Ink:  None
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ S4-262 Nested Ducks, Spellbinders™ Petite Scalloped Circles LG, 3 empty ribbon spools in graduated sizes, unfinished wooden wheels in graduated sizes, cotton cording, black Copic Marker, tiny buttons, ribbon

Thanks for peeking in!
