Good Morning!!  I’m back to share another of the amazing sentiments with one of the newly released December Our Daily Bread Designs. They come just in time for me to stamp them for Christmas. I don’t think I’ll have to make a special effort for Christmas cards as I have a bit of a stash going.  By December 1st, I may just have enough :-).

I’m using the elegant and bold sentiment, Glory to God, from the Christmas Verses set. I’ve paired it with some Webster Pages Christmas Paper, pearls and ribbon. The frame is cut from a punch.  (If you are trying to find the punch, I’ve seen them on Craigslist and Ebay.  Just google around and luck may be on your side.)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Christmas Verses
Paper:  Webster Pages – Petite Pages; Home for the Holidays/Winter’s Wings, The Paper Company – Ivory
Ink:  Colorbox Pigment – Chestnut, Antique Linen Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  Royal Treasures AllDeco EasyCraft Punch, Ribbon, Pearls

How are you doing on your Christmas cards?  I always seem to wait until the last minute but as always profess that this year I’ll get an early start.  We’ll see how that goes.  Thanks for stopping by to see me!

    Becca,

Just a lovely card as usual. I do not subscribe to your site but I come a lot to see your wonderful work. As I was looking at all the cards today, I realized something. I hope I say this right. You have no ads on your site. You have the stamp companies you design for which is great. So many blogs are putting ads on their blogs which do not relate to the blog. One blog has food ads.

Thank you so much for not doing this. Thanks for all you share with us.

Good Morning friends!  Today I’m sharing a new release from Quietfire Design – just in time for Christmas (*wink*).   Suzanne has put together an incredible collection of Quietfire Christmas Designs for 2009 and they’re special enough to command the front of a card but look just as stunning on the inside of the card.  For this card I’m using a new sentiment called Hold on to the Spirit of Christmas – it’s just dazzling.  This beauty is hand penned personally by Suzanne Cannon (you know that just amazes me)!

For the card I created a medallion using Spellbinders Petite Ovals Small, Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large and Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Ovals Large.  This medallion is nestled on top of Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frame which is a lovely frame.  It was pure serendipity to see the result of lacing the frame with 1/4" ribbon.  The only matching ribbon I had was the large ribbon so I tied a bow on the side.  All my layers are smudged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – Hold on to the Spirit of Christmas
Paper:  Cosmo Cricket – Wonderland, The Paper Company – Cream White
Ink:  Versafine Sepia, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Petite Ovals Small, Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large and Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Ovals Large, Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Frame, Ribbon, Pearls

I hope you are well into a glorious week!

So beautiful – I just love how you laced the ribbon through the frame. Such an elegant card!ReplyCancel

I am back from the abyss.  The amount of hours that have churned by since 9:00am yesterday morning seems to be more that 120 hours.  So here is the scoop – yesterday my blog encountered a problem – as far as I could tell, it disappeared off the face of the earth.  A quick call to my hosting service revealed that this was not the case – all my hard work and posts were still intact – we just could not see them.   I was put on the list for a repair which like most things in life is not done on my time, but done on their time.  They were very accommodating but had to find the resources to do the repair.  Morning turned into night which turned into another morning.

Thankfully I had backups but to be honest I was scared to death to do anything myself for fear that it would cause destruction – I left everything to my hosting service.  My former boss would laugh because I used to be in Information Technology and dealt with issues like this on a daily basis.  Perhaps that’s why each hour of downtime was taking a toll on me

To make a long story short . . . do you remember the Wizard of Oz where at the end Glenda tells Dorothy that she had the power all along?  I couldn’t wait any longer.  This morning I called to make sure no one else was working on my blog and I uploaded the backup myself.  I was back in business within 5 minutes of making that decision. I had the power all the time!!   I could just kick myself for not being brave enough to do this yesterday – I would only have been down a couple of minutes.  The blessing is that I know my backups are valid and I’ve learned something new.    A wake up call to be sure!

George, if you are reading this, thank you for holding my hand :-)

I have the most awesome, awesome, (did I say awesome?) readers – you make me want to create.  So many of you have emailed me to make sure everything was okay.  Oh, I have the biggest hugs for all of you!!  I hope you leave me a comment today so that I know who you are :-)  My gratitude is eternal!!

I can relate, I was in IT myself. The unfamiliar I want to leave to someone else, thinking it would be safer and faster, less stress maybe… Hah! on the faster part when it’s not done in house. Hah! on the less stress when it’s not faster and not supervised by me! Ah, the joys and trials of all things computer/network related.

Oh Becca – at first i thought it was me, but i was able to go to your blog with your lovely picture, but no daily input. then i thought ‘they’ did something – sold your site/moved/whatever. Then how do i get a msg to you if your site is down! so i tried googling you (you should do that sometime – interesting) to see if i could get in another way. Finally i decided patience is the best at this point. So glad you’re back!! you are such an inspiration! i look forward to your posts every day! Congratulations!ReplyCancel

I can relate to your thoughts and feelings, having been also in IT. It is just one of those things we do so seldom (hopefully) that we don’t remember from one time to the next confidently what should be done. But as you know God always brings the best from a tragic situation and to be reminded about having the power within by your experience is a blessing to me – just like your art work! Thanks for it all!!!ReplyCancel

Did she move somewhere else on the internet?” Like they say…patience is a virtue and I have been patient. Thank goodness you are back, everything is okay and it was just a computer thing.ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,

I was so glad to see that you’re back … I panicked somewhat when I found your site down!!!

I’ve been visiting you every day for the last several months, since finding you via Claire Brennan’s “http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com” … you’re on her “Blogs I Wish Were Mine” list … and I’ve blessed the day I found you!

Thank you so much for sharing so fully everything you create, and the ‘how’ of everything you do. You are a wonder! Your lovely ‘chats’ about life and family are always such a pleasure to read, too.

Your cards and other creations are works of art, and have been a huge source of inspiration for me. You have been blessed with a special creative gift which I can only ever dream of attaining. I really look forward to seeing your latest card or project each day, and always draw a breath and simply gaze in admiration at your endlessly beautiful, innovative and fabulous designs. You are so modest, I do often wonder whether you are actually aware of your incredible and unique talent?!

What a shock for you, finding your Blog offline … I can only begin to imagine the rotten day you had, wondering what to do for the best. Well done you, taking the bull by the horns, and “going for it”! I’m so very glad that you did!!

Thanks so much once again, Becca, for sharing your amazing creations. I’ll look forward to enjoying them each day for a long time to come!

All Good Wishes to You and Yours.
