Amazing Paper Grace January 2018 Die of the Month - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=34546

Good morning!!  Every month, we love bringing you inspiration for the Die of the Month; today is our Die of the Month Blog Hop!!   My lovely Creative Team has shown up with some surprising and stunning inspiration on how to use this die – I hope you will click through to each blog – they have really blown this challenge out of the water.  This month we have the most elegant of elegant dies that are designed to allow you to cut the die then slip a card into position.

The Lacework Finery Slip-In Card Die has a tiara-like motif that can be used with the corner pieces or without.  If you are looking for a subdued card, why not use the corner pieces only?  All of the pieces are inlaid, you can use them alone or together to get the look you want.

If you are new to our blogs, the Die of the Month is an exclusive die I designed. It is called the Lacework Finery Slip-In Card Die. This particular set has 10 dies and they can be used to make a background, a slip-in card, or a frame with decorative corners, while the individual dies in the set can be used for many things.  Oh, and to make the set complete, I’ve included flowers!  A gentle reminder, it is available beginning January 2019, until the limited supply is sold out.

Amazing Paper Grace January 2019 Die of the Month - Lace Finery Slip-In

You can visit this post if you missed the Lacework Finery Slip In Card introduction and want to know more about what inspired it.

My Lacework Finery Slip In Card Today:

My card today is a simple card, in fact the simplest.  I designed the die so that from this set you can simply get an elegant frame — to highlight a sentiment — to slip in a picture  — to add reserved corners to anything you want to highlight.

Curious how to make the card?  It’s simple –

Run the large rectangle die along with two corner dies (one inlay in each corner) through your die cut machine.  Remove paper from die and turn paper 180 degrees.  Reseat paper into die and run through again.  This will give you two filigree corners on each end!  Easy!

Your card today is simple yet elegant – and gorgeous as always. Unfortunately only one of your design team – Ewelina – has the die of the month blog published at the moment (beautiful projects). I will revisit tomorrow. Best wishes

It’s I who should be apologing Becca! I didn’t intend it as a criticism but merely an observation and probably shouldn’t even have mentioned it. We in the UK have the advantage of being several hours ahead of the US. I’ve now seen all that your design team have created with this fabulous die and they are all gorgeous and a real credit to you. Best wishes

Becca I went to sign up for the die of the month as I think this set is the best ever and I was looking forward to making beautiful cards with it . However when I went to the pay part on the spellbinders site it quotes $30 for the die set and $64 for the postage so a total of $94 Australian dollars. I can not pay such a ridiculous price for postage so sadly I can not join the club. Is there any other way I can purchase the die set. Sadly I do not know anyone in US who could get it for me. I am so disappointed as I had my heart set on owning the set.
Congratulations on the fantastic job you have done creating the beautiful set.ReplyCancel

Hi sweet friends – what comes once a month and has me antsy all month long?  Another Die of the Month, that’s what.  This month I am sharing – a die called Lacework Finery Slip In Card, it’s the Amazing Paper Grace January 2019 Die of the Month.

(Note:  Thank you friends if you have answered my Questionnaire this week – the contact forms are rolling in and what you are telling me is music to my ears!  If you have not visited my blog lately, I have a special request at the end of my post).

Inspiration for Lacework Finery Slip in Card Die

I kind of found myself looking for a different kind of challenge that would allow me to design many things with one die.  Many of you had written asking me to release some premier dies on a slow schedule so they could be purchased one by one.  Well, that’s the Die of the Month program.  Do not worry if it is not in your budget – that happens.  I still have other dies and collections – but this one allows you to get multifunctional dies that are classic and should be in style for some time to come.  I get this question all the time, so let me say they become available one at a time and when they are sold – they are not reordered.

The January “Lacework Finery” Die is one of my favorites.  I can’t tell you how fun it was to put this together and dream of what you would do with it.   Believe me, I don’t have to go far to get to second and third favorite, but this one — this one is quintessentially me!  I wanted a die that you could cut apart and use the pieces — um, or not.  If you want nothing more than to have four tuck in corners for a frame to put a pretty picture in or sentiment – then this is your die.  If the princess look is right for the occasion then, this one can be configured that way.   I even combined two motifs to make one delicate card front motif.

I made a video to show you how easy it is to use the “slip in” feature:

And there you have it!!
post-header-bottomSo here’s the scoop . . . . I’ve been a little bit out of touch due to a pretty aggressive design schedule.  As a result, I’m getting back in the saddle here on the blog and in video land and need your help.  I’ve learned that those who visit here are not necessarily the same readers who live on Instagram or Facebook.  I’m heading back to my roots here and need some honest feedback.  If you have a second, privately leave your answers in my contact form at the top right of the blog.  Here goes…

Questionnaire

Many years ago I did a questionnaire at the end of the year that I asked you to submit your answers through my contact form.  I’m doing that again because it gave me so much insight as to why you stop here.  I would be so honored to hear your thoughts – they will help me set my course for 2019.

Please submit through the contact form at the top right of the blog.  Answer all or answer any or just send a private note – here’s what I want to know….

How long have you been a reader?
What brings you back?
What do you miss most that I’ve moved away from?
Other than videos, what am I not doing that you would like to see me do?
Are you on Instagram – Yes or No
Do you have a digital die cutter – Yes or No
Do you have other crafts do you love?

post-header-bottom

Thank you for being there for me throughout the years.  I’m bowled over and touched by everyone who has responded to my request.  It may take me some time but I’ll read them.  So tickled to see so many familiar names.  I can’t wait to know more of you!!

I’ve been a fan for several years ever since I saw your dies on the Spellbinders site. I always like how elegant your cards are and it gives me inspiration in my own projects.

I do not have Intagram or Facebook but I do go online to read your blog as well as one or two others. Mostly I go to company websites to see the latest products or how to use products I own (which is a lot!)

I own a Grand Caliber as well as a Crafter’s Companion Gemini. I die cut and punch the most. Mostly for cards as I don’t have too much right now to scrapbook.

I would really like to see more of this site as a one stop shopping (buy dies here, see videos, blog, etc).

Overall, I am very impressed with your talent as an artist. If I could be 1/2 as good, I would be proud.ReplyCancel

I made one of the cards…took me a couple of trys but I got it to work! Whew! My question is what size envelope do you use for the “Let’s be the Fairytale” card? Also, did you create the “Let’s be the Fairytale” and “Where there is great love…”? Will we be able to purchase them from Quietfire? Also, would love a link to the buttons that you use. I’ve looked and looked and am unable to locate any as beautiful as yours! Now, onto the “You are my happy place” card! Whoohoo!ReplyCancel

Happy New Year Sweet Friends!  I couldn’t resist throwing one more card out there to officially close down the year.  I feel like I’m sauntering out of 2018 and ready to take on 2019!  I’m closing the year with one last foil card that I had laying on the table.  I’ve enjoyed playing around with foil and keep testing new ways to do it.  This is a card made with Spellbinders Glorious Glimmer Foil Flowers and for the sentiment, I used Spellbinders Glorious Glimmer Elegant Sentiments.  If you look closely you can see that I also foiled the cut side of Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles to get the tiny square border.
