Good glorious morning!  You know how excited I get about the first of the month!  Today marks the release of three new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs.   My card today is from a new sample called With Heartfelt Sympathy – you can see the remaining new sets here.

I pulled out some earthy fall tones and ribbon for my card and also relied on all the decorative edges of several Spellbinders.  The background panel was cut on both top and bottom with Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities.  On top of the main panel I layered Spellbinders Labels Eight and Spellbinders Labels Five.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – With Heartfelt Sympathy
Paper:  Bazzill, Die Cuts With A View – Rustic
Ink:  Versafine – Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities, Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders Labels Five, Ribbon, Recollections Gems, Prima Flower

Today Our Daily Bread Designs is having a Blog Hop and if you made it here from Debra Saaranen then you are in the right place, if not the start of the blog hop is at Our Daily Bread Designs.  The neat thing about the blog hop is that there are prizes – the twist?  The prizes are hidden – you don’t know which of the designers have the prizes but if you leave a comment on each Blog along the ODBD Blog Hop, you will be entered to win.   All you have to do after entering a comment on each blog is go back to the Our Daily Bread Blog and leave a comment that tells us:
1. That you have visited and commented on each blog on the hop, and
2. What you liked best about these new sets!

The ODBD Blog Hop will be open for comments until 6PM EST Friday Oct 2.

The prizes:. A $5.00 Store Credit, a $10.00 Store Credit, and a $20.00 Store Credit!  These credits will be for any merchandise in the Our Daily Bread Designs Store!  Be sure to check the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog to see if you’re a winner on Saturday, October 3rd.

Now, on to the next stop which is Angie Z

That ribbon really made that card great!!! I’ve seen so much wonderful talent. I must hop on…ReplyCancel

Today I’m sharing a project that I’ve had on my mind this month and finally sat down to make it; it’s a birthday reminder.  I don’t know if you are like me, but I have all my birthdays plugged into my iPhone.  Without fail they come up and remind me, then without fail, I immediately forget.  I know it’s crazy but it may just be because it’s not in my face all the time.  Thats where this project comes in, the clip can sit right on my workspace and that’s a pretty good way to keep it right in my faceJustRite to the rescue with the project; I used JustRite Calendar Borders and Centers and love the variety of borders. . . and as easily could have used THESE.

My listing is computer generated then I cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Eight for the main part of my panels.  The name of each month is stamped onto Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  Next I stamped my selected border and cut/embossed using Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large.  The Fancy Tag was mounted on the oval then attached to the top of the Labels Eight panel.

I was able to use up quite a few scraps ;D

Then I painted a clothes pin with white gesso and once dry applied paper to the flat surfaces.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Calendar Borders and Centers
Paper:  DCWV and K & Co.
Ink:  Chalk Inks and Memento Black Tuxedo
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders Standard Ovals Large, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders Doodle Parts, Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia, Buttons.

I added some embellishment to the large clothes pin by adding a swirl from Spellbinders Doodle Parts and a flower using Spellbinders Nested Poinsettia as well as a  couple of buttons.

Can you believe we are almost to October?  It’s glorious weather here.  Wherever you are, I hope it’s good too!

awesome Becca!! Allllll your projects are awesome… but I’m the eldest of 10 kids… my parents are still living.. all siblings are married with kids.. and some of the kids have kids.. and every year, we add 2-3 new babies and sometimes new spouses. So, birthdays and anniversaries make up quite a list. I prepare a little calendar for the new year… 1 sheet for each month that is put in it’s appropriate slot in a little calendar book I made them some years back.

I love love love the clothes pin ides and your accents for each page. I always print the months in the coordinating print used in the book.. but I can certainly add to it and add the clothes pin this time around.

*I was also thinking of a question or tip from you for how to best remove the card stock from spellbinder’s pendants without messing it up. I know I need to do it slow and methodical.. but just in case you have a special tip.

You are an awesome inspiration to me!!!ReplyCancel

    Becca~

I just LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this and I have had 3 jumbo clothes pins that sat 2 years in my craft closet and finally got then out and decorated them and gave them as a gift to one of my neighbors. Now I need to get to the cities and find some more. This just maybe the Christmas gift for my sister-in-laws this year. Even a bazaar or craft show idea. Thanks,JackieReplyCancel

Hi Becca. OMG. this is just amazing. I’ve got the clothes pins thats been sat there for mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, months, years!!! Yippee, now I know what to do with them. One quick question. Do you back the card onto cardboard to make them stronger? I was just wondering how they go when they are clipped into the peg if its just cardstock. Do you strengthen them at all?ReplyCancel

  • Mira DavisSeptember 30, 2009 - 9:11 pm

WOW! What a great idea and so beautifully made!!

How do you get the metal part of the giant pin out and in again? It looks perfectly done. Can you please make a tutorial about the process?ReplyCancel

    Becca~

I want to make a couple of these reminders and give them as gifts. I have no idea how to do the computer generated lines. To stamps them would be tricky to to get them straight. If you can help me out with ideas I would so appreciate it. Thanks much, JackieReplyCancel

The other day I got a comment from someone who said they didn’t think I could make a card without ribbon.  Ha . . Ha . . yes I can!!!   . . . well . . . there really is no ribbon, right?  When that comment came in, I knew exactly what card I’d be making.  This is set of stamps from Northwood Rubber Stamps for which I can think of no other words except simple and classic.  It can be stamped and embossed or colored, layered or not layered, it’s as simple as that.

I embossed three of the ribbon stamps and three of the bow stamps with Gold Detail Embossing Powder on Prism Simply Smooth Cardstock.  To assemble I simply layered the bow for some dimension.   For the sentiment, also from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, I cut/embossed Spellbinders Labels Nine then traced around the inside with a gold pen.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Northwoods courtesy of Stampers Dream
Paper:  Prism So Smooth – white, The Paper Company
Ink:  Versamark and Gold Detail Embossing Powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Nine, Gold Pen

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Be blessed :-)
