Thanks for visiting with us today during the Mega Blog Hop for JustRite featuring Fonts.   JustRite is celebrating their Mega Font Hop in style (a 2 Day Event with 54 designers) with a Super 7 Day Font Sale.  Take 30% off all JustRite font sets as well as the Horizontal and Vertical Font Stampers. Sale begins Sept 17th and ends Sept 24th.

My project is a Christmas Card log – that will hold your Christmas Cards and allow you to keep track of them for 5 years.  This is something I do each year as I can’t stand to throw away old cards.  The secret weapon I used is HERE.  That’s right, this is a project that’s perpetual, by using my fonts, I can keep it updated and always have a place to stash and track my cards.   I started out with a hard back book I purchased at the dollar store and stripped out the insides.  I created sides out of velvet and lined the inside with velvet backed with cardstock while using Zip Dry Glue and lots of Red Tacky Tape. (For those with a fear of fabric, this project can also be done using cardstock, I would imagine).   I glued trim and ribbon on the outside and embossed on the front of the book using a border from Just Rite Old Fashioned Christmas.   The border is then decorated with gold pearls, Spellbinders Fancy Tags and a name plate that says Christmas Card Log in the JustRite Brayton Font

I developed a set of cards to file away with the old Christmas cards.   As file tabs I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags and stamped the date on each tab with Justrite Brayton Font.

Here’s a view from the inside :)

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Brayton Font, JustRite Old Fashioned Christmas

Paper:  The Paper Company
Ink:  Memento Black Tuxedo, Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Gold Pearls, Velvet, Tassel Trim, Burgundy Ribbon, Purse Handles, Old Book, Clear Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder

Keep in mind…there is Mystery Blog Candy being given away during the Two Day Just Rite Font Blog Hop!!!  Why is it a Mystery…..well, there will be 3 blog candy giveaways on each day and you can only win by leaving a comment on the right blog!  The real surprise is you won’t know which blog has the candy…..even the designer doesn’t know!  So as you visit each of the 54 designers over the two day event take time to leave a comment…..who knows, the lucky winner may be you!!!!!  You have until Sunday at noon to leave a comment for your chance to win.  Then check back at the JR Blog on Sunday evening to find out who won!!!!   Enjoy the Hop, get ready to see some amazing stuff!

I give my Christmas cards to the “Bazaar Ladies” at my church to use in crafts and also send them to organizations that use the fronts. BUT I always keep birthday and anniversary cards!!! I’ve been trying to use the Zip Dry Glue but the dispenser gets “all gooked up” even when I follow the directions. Any helpful hints? I know that every time I show a Magnolia I gush about how adorable they are . . . this one has my heart.  These are sure favorites with some of the little girls in my life (you know who you are *wink*).   I love to keep a stash of these around for my special little ladies and try to make up gift boxes or baskets to go with them as well.  This one is #346 Tilda with Ladybug.  In the depths of my studio I knew I had these wooden ladybugs and I thought they would go perfectly with the card.   I have been dying to use this Spellbinders On the Vine Borderabilities Grand with all the vines and curlicues – it is sure to become one I use often.  When I looked at the Mojo Monday Sketch one thing fell into place after the other.

To make the card I cut all my circles with Spellbinders Standard Large Circles and Spellbinders Standard Small Circles.  After intertwining the vine with the hollowed out circle and threading the sentiment through, I added the wooden lady bugs and pearls.  To make the box I followed this sweet tutorial from the Scor-Pal library, this specific project can be found HERE.  Once I know the recipient I’ll add coloring cards and a bundle of new crayola crayons tied with a bow :).

Project Recipes:

Stamps:  Magnolia from Magnolia-licous – #387 Tilda with Ladybug, Magnolia Sentiment
Paper:  Bazzill, DP from my stash
Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders On the Vine Borderabilities Grand, Spellbinders Standard Large Circles, Spellbinders Standard Small Circles, Wooden Lady Bugs,  Pearls, Martha Stewart Lattice Arch Border Punch, EK Success Scalloped Scallop Border Punch

Its a busy week, hope to see you later!

Do you know how hard it is to make something with the letter "Q"?  Well actually it’s not, only if you have a temporary mojo block like I did.  Okay, I’ll explain.  I’m hosting the Tuesday challenge over at CreatedByHand.  The best part of the challenge was that the challenge was assigned to me – I like it that way because it makes me stretch my artistic muscle and use my noggin’.  The hard part of the challenge was to create something that would hopefully inspire people like me – who lurk – to go over and take a look and be inspired enough to come up with something to contribute.  Since it is my week, I’m thowing down the gauntlet . . . I dare you to s-t-r-e-t-c-h :-)

If you’ll look closely, my card spells the word "Quote".  The "Q" is obscured just a little bit, it couldn’t be helped, I just had to use ribbon (*wink*).   The stamps used here are from Quietfire Design.   Each letter is overstamped  using the same stamp used on my card yesterday (When You Get to the End).   Next I stamped the sentiment called Fill Your Paper, on my suggested letter "o" , which is the layered Spellbinders Labels Four.  Everything is smudged with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – Fill Your Paper, When You Get to the End
Paper:  The Paper Company – Khaki, Bazzill, K & Co – Tim Coffee Autumn
Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Antique Linen Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Four, Ribbon, Bling

As you know, I like all genres of stamps and challenge myself to use them.  I’m left handed and tried my hand at calligraphy years ago and somehow patience was not on my side.  I say that to say that I adore the stamps I’m working with, Suzanne hand letters each one of these designs – gosh, I only wish I could do that.    Well to use them is a little bit of living vicariously.  As you stamp and create, remember to go where your heart goes . . .

Okay, well that’s my story today and I’m sticking to it – big wink*
