I received this sweet rose in the mail yesterday and immediately knew what stamp sentiment it would match perfectly.  Suzanne with Quietfire Design sent me this awesome sentiment – And the Day Came.  You may have seen it before as it is in my personal favorites quotes database that rotate on my blog.  So before I crashed and burned with a migraine yesterday, I pulled this little card together fairly quickly

I normally use design paper for my backgrounds and I swear it takes me longer to pick the paper than it does to produce the entire card!!  No so this time – I used a Hero Arts Background stamp just so that I could get ‘er done.  So I set up my background and stamped the flourish.  Then I cut the Spellbinders Curved Rectangle.  I cut and embossed Spellbinders Rose, stenciling it carefully with my SU dye based inks. Lastly I cut and embossed a Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval Large and a Spellbinders Petite Oval Large.  Using Chalk Inks, I stamped the sentiment and colored the word "open" with one of the smaller Cat Eye shaped Chalk Ink Pads.  Everything is smudged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – And The Day Came, Swirl – Hot off the Press,  Hero Arts –  Four Leaf Grid background
Paper:  The Paper Company – Khaki, Bazzill
Ink:  SU Rose Red, SU Bravo Burgundy, SU Always Artichoke, SU Old Olive, SU Close to Cocoa, Colorbox Chalk Pink Pastel, Colorbox Chalk Dark  Moss, Colorbox Chalk Rouge, Antique  Linen Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Rose, Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Ovals Large, Spellbinders Petite Oval Large, Mays Art Silk Ribbon

I’m still here!!  A couple of you have emailed me to make sure I’m okay.  Y’all are so sweet!  I’m doing fine, I’m just in the background doing some serious stamping.

Beautiful card as always. I love that background, all of the elements just look like they were meant to be together on a card. You are like a gymnast that is so good, that she makes her routine on the balance beam look like she’s doing it on the floor instead of a 4 inch wide beam 4 feet above the ground.

Greetings friends!  I have a quick card to share with you today.  It’s turning out to be my favorite format and you’ve seen similar cards.  I guess I’m just tickled to have found a formula to make all occasion cards without being on the hook for hours.  I made several of these at one sitting and I’m rolling them out one by one.  This one features the Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts Pendant; it lends itself very easily to folding which gives the round motif some dimension.  Here I’ve used two Pendants and one Center.  I’ve also used the Renaissance Hearts Borderabilities however I’ve turned the border around and hidden the most recognizable part – it makes for nice contrast.

As is easiest in this card format, the sentiment fits nicely on Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.  I used one of my very favorite papers, K & Co. Madeline.  In my Michaels, they have clearanced out everything on the K & Co. aisle.  I sure hope this means there is more K & Co. goodness on the horizon.

Tip:  To keep the folded Pendant in place and to keep its dimension, simply use glue dots on the eight points to cinch the flower in.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Wordsworth
Paper:  K & Co – Madeline, Bazzill
Ink:  SU Bravo Burgundy
Accessories:  Spellbinders Renaissance Pendant, Spellbinders Renaissance Hearts Borderabilities, Spellbinders Tags, Ribbon, Button

Speaking of more goodness on the horizon, have you checked out the Spellbinders Blog?  There is another Blog Frenzy in the works that begins on Thursday, July 9th on Debbie Olsons blog.  This Frenzy covers CHA releases and you will be amazed at the new stuff in store.  Speaking of that, if I seem quiet in the background, just know that I’m working on more papercrafting goodness to share.  Thanks for stopping by, I so appreciate it!

I LOVE these pendant cards you have made. I figured out how you folded and connected the Fleur de Lis pendant medallion but I am stumped with this Renaissance Hearts pendant medallion. When I look at the graphic of the pendant die from Spellbinders, it looks “inside out” compared to your folded pendant medallian. The little cut out diamond and swirls seem backwards on the Spellbinders graphic. I don’t have the die yet so I can’t look at the actual die. Is there any chance you could provide a tutorial on these for those of us who need just a little help figuring them out?

LOL………………..I know, I know that I am already older than you but a girl can dream can’t she.
I alway come here and look to see what is new..ReplyCancel

You may have noticed that lately I’ve added to the line up of companies I have the pleasure of working with.  No one has gone away, but in my quest to keep things fun and include all the styles I enjoy stamping, there is another addition I’ve been dying to announce.  Well I’m so pleased to say that I am on the design team for Quietfire Design!   Headed by the very talented Suzanne Cannon, each design is hand lettered by her before setting into rubber.  Her selection of quotes is breathtaking and the lettering is perfect in every way.  These stamps are the perfect elegant element for my favorite genre of card.  I can hardly wait to share, and I know that many of you will say that this is sooooo . . . me.

The hardest part of coming up with today’s card was wondering which of Suzanne’s stamps to pick first.  This one, Be Not Forgetful, is one of my favorites so I thought I would start here.  I simply stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossing powder onto Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.  Each layer is backed by shimmery gold paper.  At the top of the card I made angel wings using Spellbinders Scalloped Paisley.  I simply cut off the top scalloped part of the paisley.  Each wing was stamped with a filigree background stamp using gold leaf adhesive followed an application of gold leaf which was burnished and brushed off revealing a distressed gold design.   The wings are perched on a square filigree jewelry piece I found in the jewelry section of Michaels.  Ribbon and gold pearls are the final touch – as if I could leave those off!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – Be Not Forgetful
Paper:  The Paper Company – Blonde Columns, Gold
Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx with clear embossing powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Scalloped Paisley, Gold Leaf, Filigree Jewelry Finding, Ribbon, Gold Pearls

Tip:
If you are interested in making your own angel wings using the Paisley die template, I recommend you make a pattern.  Simply cut one paisley and trim across the top curve all the way out to the narrow part of the shape.  Cut two more paisleys and be sure to flip one so that it presents a mirror image.  Trace using your pattern and both with match perfectly!  I know that seems very simple, but I had to get it wrong before I tried making a pattern.

Thanks for stopping by!

    Becca,

Wow. beautiful card! I love it when you go white and gold with your color scheme.

I was wondering, how in the world you are able to keep up with all of these companies that you are working with? I think I have lost count. Let’s see if I can name them: Spellbinder’s, Our Daily Bread Designs, Magnolia Stamps, Flourishes, Just Rite, Stamper’s Dream Team, and now Quietfire Design. I am dying to know if I got them all. Let me know. Tee Hee.

    Hugs,
