This week is Impression-Obsession week over at Stamper’s Dream.  I’m tickled to be able to join the Dream Team for the first time and this week has seen a steady stream of fabulous cards from all.  I love this Shuttered Window Box, it’s going on my favorites list along with many of the other images that Gary Robertson has drawn for Impression-Obsession.   Because of the shading accents he adds in his drawing, coloring this is up very easy.  I colored it with my Tombow markers using two shades of brown and then multiple colors for the flowers.

For my sentiment I used some rub-on letters to spell out dearly loved and framed them with the Chatterbox Easy Bradmaker Kit – holey moley that  kit is neat.  Just for frame of reference, that brad is roughly the size of a quarter.  For the vine growing out from behind the window I used a Quikutz swirl diecut from my stash and the tiny flowers are made with the Martha Stewart Three in one Hydrangea Punch.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Impression-Obsession
Paper:  K & Co., Bazzill, The Paper Company – Kraft

Ink:  Versafine – Black Onyx
Accessories:  Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Quikutz, Chatterbox Easy Bradmaker,  Martha Stewart Three in one Hydrangea,
Martha Stewart Arch Lattice Border Punch, pearls, brads, ribbon

There’s much more Stampers Dream goodness to see today – Denise , Kimberly and Michelle
are stamping up more of the new releases.  Go have a look see!

i love this beautiful card!….but HOW BIG IS IT???? the shutters themselves are pretty big (3 1/4 x 4 1/4″)….that’s nearly an A2 card all by themselves!
are all the cards you make larger than A2? that could be helpful info for those of us looking at certain stamps, etc.

Beautiful card, as usual!! The rub on letters reminded me of a project that I did for my Mom many years ago, before the computer age. I bought her a new address book, and used rub-on letters to put every name and address she had in it for her. I thought it looked better than the typewriter!! I guess I had more time on my hands than I do now with 3 boys!!ReplyCancel

I haven’t visited your blog in a while and am kicking myself for all that I’ve missed! This is a glorious card, as are all your others. This one, though, brought tears to my eyes because it seems like a wonderfully fitting sympathy card and would have been ideal in the recent death of my dearest friend and fellow stamper. I’m at the stage of life where sympathy cards are needed with more and more frequency. This is not mentioned to quell enthusiasm but to let you know how your artistry is appreciated and appropriate for all kinds of purposes. You are an inspiration!ReplyCancel

This is so beautiful. It brought back memories of my childhood. You are talented. I was just looking for paper crafting stuff I can add to my collection and I saw this blog and I couldn’t leave anymore. Woderful work! One of the best I’ve seen.ReplyCancel

I hope you are having a glorious week.  I’m sharing a card that I created to have a touch of an old world feel.  Both stamps I’ve had for years and I was tickled to be able to use them together.  I distressed all my panels with Brushed Corduory Distress Ink and colored the world image with Tombow Markers.  The hardware on the left hand side of the card are bracelet toggles from the jewelry department at Michaels and the gold dots in the center are gold colored post earrings – also purchased at Michaels.  I peruse the jewelry section quite often and there are tons of finds there if you are patient enough to look for them.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Stamp Camp*
Paper:  The Paper Company –  Blonde Columns, Bazzill
Ink:  Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  Bracelet Toggles – Manor House, Ribbon, Tombow Markers

*I would advise you to call ahead to verify turn around time for orders.

Please don’t forget that Impression-Obsession week is going on over at Stampers Dream.   Here is the schedule for the rest of the week, so be sure to stop by and see what the Dream Team is working on.

Wednesday – Laurie , Tosha , and Michelle
Thursday – Becca , Denise , Kimberly and Michelle
Friday –
Kimberly , Tosha , and Michelle

Back soon with something new!

News first!!  After being a long time shopper and a big, big time fan, I’ll be jumping on board with with the fabulous Dream Team at Stampers Dream!!  They are the sweetest ladies ever and oozing with star quality talent!   This week we are kicking off Impression-Obsession Week – with the newest IO releases!!  I hope you’ll hop over to see what the fabulous Michelle Rodgers has lined up for this week!!

Today I’m sharing a card from one of the new Our Daily Bread Design sets…Ask, Seek, Knock.  I simply love this Pretty Poppy paper, as I have said before it is bold.  I’m thankful that some days I inclined to use it!  Can you tell that I’m on a window kick?  I’ve found that if you have Spellbinders dies in both the large and small sizes this is easy to do!

I cut and embossed my top layer first with Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Large, making three windows.   Then I selected the Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Small template that is the next step smaller than the large template I used.  With my red paper in place (I used repositionable tape) behind my newly created windows,  I dropped the Classic Rectangles Small template into the window, centered it then traced the inside of the template with a pencil onto the red paper.  I did this for all three windows.  I removed the top layer and was left with the red paper which was marked to show me where to lay the templates when cutting – I then cut the three windows and they line up perfectly.  I then stamped three parts of the sentiment and cut them out with the same template I used on the red layer.  To get them in place I simply ran my glue runner across the back then dropped each sentiment into a window and they seat perfectly.  Lastly I added ribbon and pearls!

Tip:  Don’t chance it – use two small pieces of tape to hold your die on to your paper, even if you have the magnetic mat on your Wizard.  With 9 cuts, the stakes get higher with each cut and you don’t want to take the chance that something will shift (ask me how I know this).

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Ask, Seek, Knock
Paper:  Autumn Leaves – Pretty Poppies, Bazzill, 140 lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper
Ink:  Versafine – Black Onyx, Clear Embossing Powder

Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Large, Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Small,  Martha Stewart Scallop Punch, Pearls, Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and happy Monday!!
