This beautiful violet stamp has been on my desk for a while so I was thankful to finish it up.  The violets are one of the recent sets from Flourishes called Sweet Violets

Using Tombow Markers and European Watercolor Paper, I watercolored the violets and cut them out using Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Small die paired with a gold layer cut using Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Large.  This panel rests on a pair of Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.  To ultra frame the combination I cut two Spellbinders Large Octagonswhich were offset then embellished with pearls.  To finish, I threaded a ribbon through the top and bottom of the octagons and tied a bow!

Easy Peasy!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes –
Paper:  Bazzill, The Paper Company  – Charcoal Black, American Crafts – Gold
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Small, Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Large, Spellbinders Large Octagons, Cllear Embossing Powder, Tombow Markers, Gold Pearls, Ribbon, McGill Word Punch,

Have a blessed day my friends!

You’re not crazy – this post reflects a date of yesterday!  That’s how long I’ve been fiddling with this card!!  I had it ready last night and wrote my first draft post but went back to the drawing board several times before I was interrupted by the need for sleep.  Finally I get to share!  This card was a ton of fun to bring to life.  I fiddled around with die cuts the other night and came up with something I wanted to make into a card but my perfectionist tendencies were getting the best of me – I wanted a totally symmetrical medallion and it just wasn’t happening.  At any rate, the results became the perfect venue to show one of the newly released JustRite sets called Tiny Words Borders & Centers Set 1 3/16"

I work with a lot of sentiments and sometimes I just cannot find where to position them without them taking up valuable real estate on the card – especially when I don’t want to cover up the design paper.  That where the JustRite Tiny Border Set fit my needs perfectly – they are tiny sayings that say a lot.  The sentiment is stamped with the 1 3/16" mount and punched out with a 1" punch.  The border is stamped and cut out with the smallest Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle Small.  That pairing perches on top of a circle made with a 1 3/4" punch.

For this fun, fun medallion, I betcha can’t figure out what I used!  Seriously when you find out, it will show you that the dies you least suspect will stand up and do double duty.   I’ll give you a little hint – I call this a Spellbinders Swirling Heart Medallion.  You got it, it’s made with the Spellbinders Classic Heart.  I used six double cut hearts that result in frames that I pivoted around a central point..  That’s it.  All the swirls really add to the texture of the card and I curled them up a little bit to make them a little bit more dramatic.  You can easily reproduce this medallion and when time allows I’ll try to pull together a tutorial.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite
Tiny Words Borders & Centers Set 1 3/16"
Paper:  K & Co. – Cut & Paste Pad, The Paper Company – Kraft, Bazzill
Ink:  Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink
Accessories:  JustRite 1 3/16" Mount, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle Small, Spellbinders Classic Heart, Spellbinders Fancy Scallop Pierceability, Fiskars Apron Lace Punch, Mays Art Silk Ribbon, Pearls

Thanks for looking in on me today!!

Thanks so much for all the comments on my everyday cards!  I enjoyed making them because they are short, simple and sweet and I know they’ll get sent out.   Trust me, there will be more!   Today, I’m sharing a sneak peek of one of the sentiments from a new Our Daily Bread Designs set that will be released on June 1, that is called Quiet Waters.

I pulled out some of my K & Co. Blue Awning Paper and embellishments (one of my personal favorites) and cut a frame using Spellbinders Curved Rectangles.  I married that frame with my Blue Awning Chipboard frame and let it be a portal for my bow.  The sentiment is perched on a Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval, Small paired with a Spellbinders Petite Oval, Small.  I finished off with these sweet and pretty Hero Arts Blue Pearls that Kellie has in the ODBD store.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Quiet Waters
Paper:  The Paper Company – Kraft, K & Co. – Blue Awning, Bazzill
Ink:  Adirondack – Denim (Pigment)
Accessories:
Spellbinders Curved Rectangles, Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Oval, Small, Spellbinders Petite Oval, Small, Hero Arts Blue Pearls, Blue Satin Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Prima Flower

I should be back tomorrow with another card, it’s sitting on my worktable almost finished.  See you then!!

    Hi, Becca,
You continue to amaze me lady! I have purchased Ornare, ODBD sets, and JustRite stamps because of what you design and inspire me to create.
I can’t thank you enough for your generosity in your openness to share with others.
I just started my blog and working on photo quality.
    I see improvement each time.
    God Bless you!

Love how you combined the frames……food for thought as this is the main reason I rarely buy the extras with a paper collection….they look kinda naked. As usual I am overcome with admiration. Thanks Becca.ReplyCancel
