Today I’m sharing a sneak peek of a new set coming out on March 1st for Our Daily Bread Designs called You Are the Potter.  It will be a special release month for Our Daily Bread Designs with a normal release on March 1 and there’s an extra special surprise planned on March 17th, so stay tuned!!

Today’s card is very simple.  The pots are colored with Copic Markers and the sky was airbrushed in with the Copic Airbrush System.  The entire image is popped up on a double set of Spellbinders Labels Two dies and the sentiment is displayed on a Spellbinders Tag.  Although the ribbon  runs vertically it matches nicely with the hole in the tag which makes a perfect place to tie the bow.  I finished it off with three small brass bling.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – I Am the Potter
Paper:  Bazzill, Georgia Pacific Cardstock, Mementos Crackled Mustard
Ink:  Black Brilliance, Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Two, Spellbinders Tag, Ribbon, Bling

I’m so glad to be back!!  I thought I would have an opportunity to blog from the road but just as I discovered I had internet, it was taken away by a cruel stroke of fate.  A construction crew nearby severed the cable and we got it back just as we were packing to leave.  No worries, it just gave me a little bit extra time to love on my family.

If you’re just tuning in, I had an opportunity to teach a class with Flourishes and take a class with the magnificent Copic mentor extraordinaire, Marianne Walker; both were phenomenal experiences.  Equally exciting was the opportunity to meet some of the sweetest people in the world!  I have many new friends, some I knew by email and others that are new, but in either case I know that I walked away blessed beyond measure!

Today I’m sharing one of the cards I presented at our workshop.  It took us through some of the techniques I use often and tidbits I like to share – like stenciling, where to get unique supplies and bow tying.    I was tasked with teaching something that had my "look", but that people wanted to learn.   That’s why this card looks oddly familiar, by popular request, I translated this card into an Easter Card.

The highlight of this card is the newly released daffodil and Happy Easter sentiment from Flourishes Signs of Spring Set.  It is stamped onto the Spellbinders Labels One die cut with dye ink and touched up with a Tombow marker and aqua painter to soften the image.   As with the other card, this one uses the Spellbinders Decorative Frames and is stenciled and adorned with tiny pearls.  Double sided wide white satin ribbon is embellished by a smashed jewelry Bell Cap – a technique I used last year here with these smashed filigree caps that make an excellent way to secure my ribbon.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Flourishes – Signs of Spring
Paper:  Basic Grey – Urban Prairie, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor paper
Ink:  SU More Mustard, SU So Saffron
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels One, Spellbinders Decorative Frames, Ribbon, Bell Cap, Cosage Pin and Stopper, Swarovski Crystal, Pearls

Thanks for patiently waiting for me to return and as always thanks for stopping by – I so appreciate it!

This is a gorgeous card! I would never have thought of using those jewelry filigree pieces – what a marvelous idea you gave us! One more question, if I may: WHERE do you get those hatpins with stoppers on the end? I can’t find them anywhere (not even on the Net), and I KNOW they’re out there, because I even own a couple of them. They were quite popular in the early 90’s as lapel pins … If anyone knows, please email me; I’m not opposed to making my own – many, many thinks.

Greetings!!  I bet you thought I fell off the face of the blog world, hunh?  My apologies – no posts since Tuesday!!  There is a reason for this; I am traveling along the coast of Florida.  Why?  What a pretty venue for a Copic Class and the first annual Flourishes Stampers Dream Weekend!!

This is a nice refreshing break for us as we’ve not travelled in so so long.  My family and I are RVing it along the coast of Florida so that I can attend the Copic Class and I actually taught a class for Flourishes yesterday.  Our campsite is right below this gorgeous lighthouse in Pensacola, Florida on the Naval Air Station.  The view is wonderful from here . . .

The sand along the northern gulf coast of Florida looks just like snow…okay, and I have to admit that although it rarely snows here, today it is quite cold.  Cold enough that I’m wearing my parka.  Ironic isn’t it?

Lucky me, I’ve figured out that I have internet at the campground so look for a post from me soon!.

Wow! What a beautiful location! I’ve always heard about the gulf coast beaches made of sugar. Your picture proves it. It looks to be beautiful. I’ve missed your posts but glad you are vacationing. I can’t wait to hear about the convention. I would love to take a class from you. Enjoy your time. Hi! I love the pictures. I lived in Pensacola for several years while I attended Pensacola Christian College. I went to the naval museum once but never saw this light house. They next time I go up I will look for it. The beaches there are beautiful. Unfortunately, after one of the hurricanes a few years back I heard several of the beaches were washed away. The beaches in Pensacola are much more rural then other beaches in Florida. Your God given talent has really inspired me since I found your blog. Thank you for sharing with all of us. God bless!ReplyCancel

What beautiful pictures! The beaches on the Gulf are the prettiest anywhere, and with the most beautiful sunsets, in my opinion. I hope you get to see a few of those. My husband and I used to RV down there alot, but haven’t got to go in a while now with the economy and all. :( But I hope you enjoy your trip, enjoy your classes, and look forward to “seeing” you back here soon. I agree with Mary above, makes me wonder if you will do some beach-y cards soon! With all that inspiration around, it’s bound to give you some ideas. And we know you already have an awesome lighthouse stamp!

    Thanks!ReplyCancel

Oh my!! My hubby stayed on the Naval Air Station in Pensacola in 1996. It was his forward training camp for the Paralympics that year in Atlanta. He was part of the British Disabled Air Rifle Shooting Team. The whole team were made honorary citizens of Pensacola and he is the proud owner of a certificate to prove it. He loved the place and these photo’s are just gorgeous.

Hey Becca….I’m over here in Gulf Breeze, across Pensacola Bay from Flourishes…but I’ve been to Flourishes to pick up my order before since I’m so close…instead of paying shipping. The ladies are so very nice. I wish I could have attended this weekend but I had work deadlines to meet. Your work is just beautiful. I hope to read about it and see pictures of what all went on there. Enjoy the beautiful Gulf Coast…it is blessing to live here in God’s creation of this part of the world.ReplyCancel

Hey Becca, your post and pictures just calmed me after reading about you getting away and then teaching something you love. What a blessing that must be.

I just started my first quilt, a simple one (so they said) a rag quilt. I finally finished cutting out all those 9 inch squares (with my huband’s help) and now the sewing is so fun, I’m loving it.

Copics hmmm, I don’t own a single one. I’ve thought about it but so far I stayed away. You will probably pull me right off the wagon :)ReplyCancel
