Todays card is one I did for Card Positioning Systems (CPS)!    I love working with sketches and this one is absolutely a classic and  it has gone into my permanent sketches file!!

Basically I took my Spellbinders Decorative Frames Set and cut them from Solar White Paper, stenciling them with Tattered Rose Distress Ink including stenciling the area inside the frame.  Are we seeing a pattern here?  Yes, same inks I used on my card from yesterday – I love the vintage-y mauve-y feel of that ink!!  The edges of all white papers are then smudged very conservatively with the Tattered Rose Ink.

I stamped a sentiment from one of the new sets with Our Daily Bread Designs  – this is is called I Am the Way.  I elevated the big frame then double elevated the smaller frame to make it rise above.  A pink pearl, some greenery and white satin ribbon finish off the main parts of the card and then I mounted it on a shimmery piece of Coral cover stock from The Paper Company that I punched with a Martha Stewart Edger.  Oops, I forgot to mention the pearls – my favorite embellishment of the week!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – I Am the Way
Paper:  The Paper Company – Solar White, Metallic Coral Cover Stock
Ink:  Tattered Rose Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Decorative Frames, Martha Stewart Leaf and Branch punches, Recollections Pink Pearl, Prima Flower, Michaels half pearls, White Satin Ribbon

Okay, about my card…before 5pm this afternoon I had no idea what I was gonna do.  This whipped up so quick that you HAVE to give it a try!!  Using my Scor-pal I scored in 3/4" increments to make a panel with squares.  In each square I stamped the sweet little flower from the Flourishes Thinking of You Stamp set using Tattered Rose Distress Ink and Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  The pearls I buy come in a set with tiny, medium and large pearls – well, I rarely use the large pearls they just seem, well, too large.  I unloaded those pearls here!!!!   The bunch of flowers and that beautiful sentiment from the Thinking of you Stamp set is stamped with the same distress inks however I marked in the green flowers with a green Tombow marker before huffing and stamping.   To show off the sentiment I used a scrapbooking tag I had in my stash and it was an excellent background to my Spellbinders Labels Four die.  Lastly, the swirl (gotta have a swirl!!) is from the Spellbinders Doodleparts set.  I finished off with crisp while satin ribbon.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:
Flourishes Thinking of You
Paper:  The Paper Company –  Solar White, Metallic Aloe, Metallic Coral; 140lb Strathmore Watercolor Paper,  Bazzill
Ink:  Tattered Rose Distress Ink, Peeled Paint Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Four, Spellbinders Doodleparts, Tombow Marker, Pearls, Ribbon

You’re an amazing bunch of readers!!!  Thank you for stopping by, you know it makes my day!!

Wanna know one of the best things about the first of every month?  It’s a new release day for Our Daily Bread Designs.  Three new sets have been released and they are I Am The Way, Keep My Lamp Burning and May God Hold You.  Click on over and preview the sets – there are lots of sentiments that can be used alone, paired with your other ODBD sets or paired with the other art in the set.  Kelley amazes me each month as she comes up with something totally new and unique that will work with the other sets I have!

The first card is from I Am the Way.

I watercolored the easter lily then masked it off and airbrushed it with my Copic Airbrush System.  I used the Spellbinders Labels One die and I kept my image inside the diecut while airbrushing to get the white frame around the image.  The next time I do this image, I’ll emboss with gold, but I also like the image embossed in black.  The base card is cut out with the Spellbinders Curved Rectangles and the vellum overlay is cut out with the same die cut.

The next card is from Keep My Lamp Burning.  I consider this a "theme" stamp and just looking at it conjures up and image of what can be done with it.  I love all the nautical elements around the lighthouse and the accompanying sentiments are perfect.  This is a little bit of a departure for me, but this was fun to work on and I used a couple of techniques that I don’t often use.

The lighthouse is stamped on coffee paper that I have had in my stash for years.  You ask what is coffee paper?  Well, it’s plain old white typing paper that I soaked with coffee, hoping to get stains and splotches and the like.  I took that paper and stamped on it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink then burned some of the edges and sooted in other places on the image.  I embellished with dark brass brads and added twine.  The sentiment is mounted on a Spellbinders Label Four onto which I mounted a Spellbinders Tag.   The paper on top is distressed with a paper edge distresser.  On each layer and on the sentiments I smudged with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.   Oh, I love this set and for my first time out of the box with it I wanted to do something different.

Gorgeous card, I really like the techniques you used. The twine is a great companion to the lighthouse, it finishes off the card nicely as does the scripture. It never ceases to amaze me how well you pair off or put together items. You do that as well as you find ways to put together punches, such talent!
