Ordinary Fairytale
Can you believe that Valentines Day is so close? I pulled together something for my sweetie and the sentiment is one that I absolutely love but it has not seen ink in it’s lifetime with me. Well, I remedied that! Here’s the card I made for my husband for Valentines Day (don’t look honey). It is also a layout challenge from Splitcoaststampers – SC161. The card is embellished with a three dimensional heart and filigree from Some Assembly Required, embossed in black. The Sentiment is a wonderful stamp from Stampers Anonymous. ere’s a card I made recently attempting to use several new things I added to my stash. Working with Bazzill papers, I folded the purple paper and layered on top pink paper and a polka dotted panel from Nana’s Kids. From Nestabilities I cut a purple scallop and white circle. Stamped with one of my favorite old Penny Black stamps and colored with Copics. Then, punched the scalloped border from vellum paper and added the sentiment from For Giving Souls All Night Media with purple embossing power and secured with two pick brads. Lastly I tied on the pink grosgrain ribbon. I think I’m getting the knack of those Copics. I’m finding out at each sitting that there are so many ways to use them and hoping over time, that I’ll become better with them. Oh, and I sure am finding out that you don’t really know what colors you need until you sit down to work with them and reach for a shade that you don’t have. Yeah, you can do some blending and pulling off of color and mixing but you really do get a good feel if a color you want is missing.     I have collecty of Angels…
    cards, stamps and evrything were Angels are on..and also sculptores….

    I just love your cards. Your videos make things look so easy.

    I would like to ask you and your viewers a question. Once before I got so involved with card-making, I saw a symathy card made with white paper, using an oblong or square plain spellbinder in the center, also using the score pal on the top or bottom. It had “With Symathy” in the center. Plus one of the had a single flower with stem on it.

Scenic Poppy I’ve had this Stampendous stamp on my desk for a while, trying to think of how I would color it. Out with the Copics, they’re sooooo fun. This time around I colored the poppies and scribbled a darker shade on an acetate sheet. I then lifted the darker shade off of the acetate sheet with the same color copic as I base coated the poppies with and it gives a subtle shading on the poppies. I’m still learning with the copics but try to use them every chance I get. I used aquapainters to color the sky, barn and land. The frames are accomplished with rectangle Nestabilities then airbrushed with two copic markers to mirror the green grass and the blue skyline. Layered with teal and rose cardstock cut with scallop scissors and anchored on a rose folded card, topped off with a Stampendous sentiment, embossed with white powder. The inspiration for this card was a Limited Supplies Challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use leftovers on my desk. Thankfully for me, this day my desk was filled, so I had tons to choose from.
