Uplifting Cards by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles, Lunette Arched Borders and Cinch and Go Flowers II - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33618
Good morning sweet friends!  I’m popping in today for a quick post and to also let you know that there is a treat in store for you tomorrow.  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing some stunning book/card/mini albums that the Creative Team have put together using the 3D Vignettes Collection by Spellbinders .   In the meantime, today I’m sharing one of my uplifting cards that uses one of my favorite sentiments from  Quietfire Design.  It’s honestly a “feel good card” and so many times the recipient has called to say that it lifted their spirits precisely at a time they needed it.  That’s the home run I’m always looking for — just to know that it helped.  I’ve used some of the favorites you have in your stash: Lunette Arched Borders, and Cinch and Go Flowers II  in the Chantilly Paper Lace Collection.  I’m also using Hemstitch Rectangles from the Venise Lace Collection.

I send out cards quite regularly.  I do try to change them up slightly so that it’s not the same card over and over again.  That’s where embellishment dies come in handy.  Simply by adding the flowers, a different frame and the arched border, I was able to disguise my normal layout.

Pour and Send

Thanks for stopping by friends.  I hope that if you have a minute, that you’ll whip up something to uplift someone who might need it!  It doesn’t have to be a masterpiece.  It doesn’t have to be posted online or even use new things.  We collect and have so many tools at hand!  It’s a great experience to pour your heart out by creating and then to pass it along by sending.  Pour and send, if you will :-)

Beautiful card Becca. I love the hemstitch rectangles – might have to open my wallet!! I know exactly what you mean about sending a card to uplift somebody. I noticed a lady who attends the crafts class we run in the village had seemed rather low for a few weeks so I made a card for her. She was so pleased that somebody had realised that there was something wrong and had gone to the trouble (her words, because certainly it was no trouble to me)to do something for her. Just goes to show that it is the little things that can mean the most ! Hugs Christine xReplyCancel

    Hi Becca

I just wanted to tell you how beautiful your cards are. Each one is more beautiful than the previous one and I really enjoy seeing your creations.

I noticed that you use a lot of ribbon on your cards and just wondered if you have a special place to purchase it. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and I can’t seem to find really nice ribbon. I would appreciate it if you could offer some suggestions of where I could purchase some.

Grand Dome Card Ensemble by Becca Feeken using Amazing Paper Grace 3D Vignette Dies by Spellbinders - Grand Dome, Petite Double Bow, Marcheline Plume, Graceful Tiny Tags - for full supply list see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33575
Good morning sweet friends!  Today’s post is long with pictures, inspiration and a Grand Card tip!!  First of all let me say that I’ve caught up with mailing dies out to all prize winners – I’ll list below those who have claimed their dies so that I could get them into the mail.  Otherwise, today I’ve made a Grand Dome Card Ensemble using Quietfire Design Stamps to create ready to go cards for several occasions in a sweet card caddy.   Three Die sets were used from the Amazing Paper Grace 3D Vignettes Collection by Spellbinders die sets:  Grand Dome, Petite Double Bow and from the Venise Lace Collection I used the center from Marcheline Plume.  The tiny tag (that I love hanging on things) comes from Graceful Tiny Tags.

Note:  All Amazing Paper Grace Collections are 15% off at Scrapbook.com until midnight MST on Thursday, February 22nd they are grouped together —> HERE

For the Grand Dome Card Ensemble caddy is assembled just as I did in this video except I’m using only the front and the back, no inserts.  I also use a side piece as a bottom piece and added a 12″ strip of paper for the handle.

Grand Dome Card Ensemble by Becca Feeken using Amazing Paper Grace 3D Vignette Dies by Spellbinders - Grand Dome, Petite Double Bow, Marcheline Plume, Graceful Tiny Tags - for full supply list see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33575Next, for the cards I cut them double as I do using the hinge method.   The chads fall out of the front panel but do not fall out of the back panel with the 80lb paper I used.  Then I added an extra panel on top with an aperture.

Grand Dome Card Ensemble by Becca Feeken using Amazing Paper Grace 3D Vignette Dies by Spellbinders - Grand Dome, Petite Double Bow, Marcheline Plume, Graceful Tiny Tags - for full supply list see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33575
I love making these type of sets because it means I’ll have a variety of ready made cards on hand.
I used my favorite sentiments from Quietfire Design:

The Greatest Strength

The Best Thing – Believe in You
Worry
The Moment A Child is Born

Grand Card Tip:

Several people have asked how I get edges on a Grand Card (like the Grand Dome or the Grand Cabinet Card) without having the tabs pointing out on the side.  The way the side piece dies are configured, you can cut with slots or without slots.  For cards that have no tabs pointing out I simply flex and glued or taped down the tabs and covered with a duplicate side piece that has no slot!!

And now for an inspiration treat, this week the Creative Team is showcasing Z Cards today and they are gorgeous!!  I love what everyone has done with the single elements from the 3D Vignettes and a Z Card is a nice way to overlap the two layering elements.  These are cards that can be done without the Grand Bases and need only layered elements and embellishments :-)

One of your dies that I ordered from Spellbinders was not in stock so I went ahead and bought it from ebay (someone whom I have bought quite a few and she sends them out really fast). 10 Things I Love About You Book by Becca Feeken using Amazing Paper Grace 3D Vignettes by Spellbinders - Grand Dome, Filigree Numbers, Cinch and Go Flowers III, Filigree Pocket - for full supply list visit www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33540
Hi there Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace here.  We’re having another Spellbinders blog hop to celebrate new collections and today I’m going to share with you an alternate use for one of the new die sets I designed for my 3D Vignettes Collection by Spellbinders.  If you have come from the  Spellbinders Blog, you are in the right place and I’ll link you to your next location below.

3D Vignettes is a series of theme dies that can be inserted into what is cut with a Grand Base die to create 3D upright cards that fold down flat to go into an envelope – a collapsible tunnel card!  If you cannot envision it here, you can see it in action in the 1.5 minute video ——> HERE.  Where these Vignettes are unique, is the ability to die cut or not die cut each and every layer for an ethereal see through dimensional layered creation.  Collection elements were designed to cut out whole or to be cut out inlaid for inclusion in a Grand Base.  The collection centers around three themes – baby, love and birthday.  The die set that I’m using today is  3D Vignettes – Grand Dome along with 3D Vignettes – Filigree Numbers.  In addition I’m using Cinch and Go Flowers III and  Vintage Elegance – Filigree Pocket.

My creation looks like the normal card you would create however it is open on one side, which essentially creates pages.  I used the opportunity to create a 10 Things I Love About You Card Book.

There are 10 numbered pages and on each page is a small filigree pocket that has a double folded card.  Inside the mini card is a space to hand write one of the 10 things and there are 10 mini cards.  I used the round/oval medallion that comes with the 3D Vignettes – Grand Dome to make a topper that ribbon is threaded through.  That way each mini card can be pulled out individually.  There are a total of 5 pages with a pocket on the front and back of each page except the Cover and End.

The flowers are quick and simple inked petals using Cinch and Go Flowers III .

Like you Becca, I find myself going to white also and if I want a little color, it’s usually a pink shade! I just love your creations with white and gold and white with silver – and I never get tired of it! Your Blog hop creation is amazing. I would love to created a little box of it for die cut note cards as a gift! Of course the box would be white! Hugs DianneReplyCancel

Oh, good grief! Yet another project I simply HAVE to try! I LOVE that there is SO MUCH that can be done is such a variety of ways with these beauties!! This idea is just fabulous!!
Now, to answer your question… I’m supposed to have a ‘go-to’ color?! lol! I usually just reach for whatever I think will work with my project, but I just went and looked at my Instagram and I seem to use a lot of white as it goes with everything, so that must be my go-to color.ReplyCancel

I gravitate to blue. It’s always
been my favorite color in everything
so it seems a lot of my cards are
    touched with blue somewhere. Gold
and silver are also prominent – love
    the richness. The album is
fantastic – would be a wonderful
give for a wedding shower or wedding.
    thanks for sharing.
