Cardmaking Ideas by Becca Feeken using Amazing Paper Grace Dies by Spellbinders - Hannah Elise Layering Frame, Graceful Damask, Francesca Label, Hemstitch Ovals - for full supply list see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33511
Last week was one of dreams!  The Creative Team and I have been just waiting to roll out some inspiration for 3D Vignettes.  Of course we needed to wait until your local retailer and favorite online retailer had them in stock.  If they don’t have them, let them know you’d like them!  (Hint, hint: I have it on good authority that the dies are now available on the Spellbinders Website right now – you can see them HERE)  Today I’ll share the die winners and can’t wait to share the 3D Vignette Number inspiration and I have a card of my own to share as well!

Today, the Creative Team is showing you new dies but I never forget that you may have purchased some of the ones I designed a while ago.  Today I’m sharing a go-to style of card of mine – cream and gold with one central focal panel.  I’m using Hannah Elise Layering Frame,  Francesca Label, and Graceful Damask Border.  I used Hemstitch Ovals here but you can use any oval in your stash.  This is the type of card that everyone can do!

Lets Make a Layered Card:

  1.  Create a card base that is 5.5″ x 7.5″.
  2.  For the bottom layer cut a panel to 5-1/8″ x 7-1/8″ and mat with gold.
  3.  Create a foundation pattern by cutting Graceful Damask Border back to back – it will yield a 2/1/4″ element – you’ll need two.  (If it   seems difficult to cut two Damask Borders back to back, then simply cut four Damask Borders).
  4.  Use doubly stacked foam tape strategically on the backside of the borders to adhere to card base, cutting small strips that cannot be seen from the front side or the gold layering focal element cut and emboss one  Hannah Elise Layering Frame
  5.  For the detail layer of the gold layering cut and emboss one  Francesca Label
  6.  Adhere the pairing  to previous layer and card base with doubly stacked foam tape.
  7.  Cut the smallest cutting rim from   Hemstitch Ovals for your sentiment and attach with doubly stacked foam tape.
  8.  Embellish with ribbon and flowers

And now on to the Creative Team, they are sharing some inspiration as well!!

The Creative Team has a treat for you this week, “We Have Your Number”.  There was so much to show with our introduction to 3D Vignettes that we didn’t have time to give a hearty introduction the Filigree Numbers – we thought they deserved a round of their own.  The numbers are large at almost 2 inches.  They fit perfectly in all of the 3D Vignette Grand Bases but that’s not all!  Have a look at this weeks inspiration:

    I absolutely love this card.
My customers like cards in boxes and yes, I could offer this in a box but I’d likely have to make the box myself and that takes time. I am not aware of a box in the U.K. which will fit this card, I’ll have to research that.
I also have to say that (and I regret having even to mention this) it will take a lot of cardstock to make these cards……I still love the concept and the design process which has gone into it…it is stunning and kudos to Becca for her thought process.
I may still get this when available in the U.K. – some of the inserts are already available but not this base card.
The jury is out on this for the moment!ReplyCancel

Welcome friends, today I’m introducing a new Amazing Paper Grace® Collection by Spellbinders called 3D Vignettes.  Our hop today is packed with a lot of information about the collection; we done that in hopes of anticipating your questions.  Come back tomorrow and you’ll be able to see a video on how to assemble.

What they are:

3D Vignettes is a series of theme dies that can be inserted into what is cut with a Grand Base die to create 3D upright cards that fold down flat to go into an envelope – a collapsible tunnel card!  One of our readers said it right, the cards created are ‘collectibles’ that your family would never dare part with.  Well, I hope so!!  You can see it in action in the 1.5 minute video ——> HERE.  Where these Vignettes are unique, is the ability to die cut or not die cut each and every layer for an ethereal see through dimensional creation.  Collection elements were designed to cut out whole or to be cut out inlaid for inclusion in a Grand Base.  The collection centers around three themes – baby, love and birthday.  Today we show you traditional uses but with a little dreaming, only the sky is the limit.

How they are used:

The dies and elements can be used as stand alones or in the Grand Base where there is a good degree of mix and match-ability across the entire collection.  Today during the hop, three of the design team members have made three cards to show you how easy it is to isolate different insert sets or combine them all into one.  These are the basic cards –  you’ll see them Joanna’s Blog, Teresa’s Blog and Jo’s Blog– they are:

  • The Simple Card – There is a set of two ‘Layering’ dies which can be used as inserts or used on their own in regular cards.
  • The Embellished Card – There is a set of shaped dies, these add drama or can be used on their own in regular cards.
  • The Decked Out Card – There is a 3D “Grand” Card, which stands and collapses, made for use with purchased inserts or to use with dies from your own stash

A link list is below but you’ll also get to see some unique off the page projects from Melissa and Judy!

My Card Today:

Introducing 3D Vignettes by Amazing Paper Grace and Becca Feeken for Spellbinders - for more information see www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=33397

Today I’m showing you a card you can make using the Grand Cabinet Card (Base).  I’m not using any additional inserts and I’m not using any  themes, just the Grand Cabinet, that’s all :-)   Up until now all cards have had a solid back but today I created a Spinner Card where I’ve made the Grand Cabinet into a frame that you can see all the way through.   It is embellished using the Tiered Rosette Die and the oval is from Hemstitch Ovals.  You’ll notice it’s a little bit different on the edges – I covered up all tabs that normally extend through the slots so that I would have a sleek, clean look.  Two ovals glued back to back with a string in between make the spinner.   The string is attached to the backside of an insert with Glossy Accents.  This is one of my favorite pictures of my sweet girl and the saying on the back commemorates the occasion – she was graduating from college. Here are the new dies I used:

Squeeee!! Feb 13 can’t get here soon enough! My first choice will be to do anniversary cards with the grand cabinet with happily ever after & filigree veil and the frilly numbers, then some sweet spinners like yours and an album like Judy’s… love seeing other ideas to extend the use of these, tho it’ll be a while before I tire of the decked out option! ? I’m assuming that your tunnel spinner still folds up even tho encased, right? BTW, the little tootsies for the baby cards are darling!? 6 days and counting!!ReplyCancel
