Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Lunette Arched Borders, Spellbinders Tallulah Frill and Spellbinders Annabelle
Hi there friends,  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  As the days march on and we’re now into Christmas Panic mode, I have a layered Christmas Card to share using layering dies from the Chantilly Paper Lace Collection.  You know how I love layering dies together and so here’s a combo I hope you enjoy!

I’m also popping in today with a couple of reminders:
The winners for the Inspiration Blog Hop will be posted on the Spellbinders Blog —–> HERE.
In case you missed the hop, you can still make the rounds just follow the updated link list ——-> HERE.
The winner for the Spellbinders Gift Certificate from my blog is at the bottom of post ——-> HERE.

Stacking Your Layering Dies:

From the bottom up, here is how I constructed my card.  On the card base I used Lunette Arched Borders – they were cut as an inlay and for interest I lined the inside of my card with Desert Storm Cardstock.  On top of that I layered Hemstitch Ovals in a contrasting color.  For the next layer up I added Tallulah Frill; interestingly it fits nicely because the curved decorative edges match the curve of Hemstitch Ovals and the Lunette Arched Borders.  Last but not least, I added the rounded badge shape from Annabelle’s Trousseau – it perfectly fit the sweet Quietfire Design sentiment I selected – Have Yourself a Merry Little Flourished Tree.

I normally tape my bows in place on the sides using the long tails.  This time around the tails are neatly hidden because of the liner sheet I used for contrast; bonus!

I love the Chantilly Lace collection and the Hemstitch, too. Hope more hemstitch-like designs come out! This is the only time I’ve paid FULL PRICE for a die set but it was definitely a must have. So tired of cutsie animals, the elegant lace designs are much more my style. Cheers, Becca! ??ReplyCancel

Jo Ferriby for www.amazingpapergrace.com
Sweet friends, so much to share today and hopefully soon I can share some of the things I’ve been absent working on.  In the meantime, please pop over to the Spellbinder Blog and hop through the list of bloggers for a chance to win from each blogger and an opportunity to win prizes from Spellbinders.  The New Arrivals Blog Hop Starts —–> HERE.  There’s lot of Creative Team inspiration today hang with us through this long post.  But first, I have a new Creative Team Member to share with you.  Oh yeah, and it was hard to keep this one a secret – I had to contain all my gushing about her creations until we were able to introduce her.  So tickled that today is the day :-)

Jo Ferriby - Creative Team Member - Amazingpapergrace.com

She was (I hoped) to be in the first Creative Team Line up but as I went to invite her, she took a break to move her household.  I was tickled to get her as soon as she was settled in her new digs.  Her cards are extraordinary; her look is a clean elegance with a measure of well placed embellishment.  I love her sense of layering and her classic style is impeccable.  As with the other Creative Team Member, she’ll teach you much and if it’s time to make a card and you need something to go by, you won’t go wrong by using her die choices and placement – we call that inspiration :-).  Please join me in welcoming Jo Ferriby.

Here’s a little bit about Jo:

I’m a mother of 2 fabulous children and a wife to my best friend Mark. I live in a small seaside town in the North of England. I’m a dog lover and owner and a life longer crafter. After having a play with a friends die cutting machine, I became hooked on cardmaking, which has become my passion.

More than a quick scan through  Social Media, I’d love for you to get to know Jo, we think she’s pretty sweet.  Please follow her in these places so that you can get to know her sweet spirit too!

For Jo’s card above, she used Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame as well as foamiran flowers made with  Cinch and Go Flowers II.  Inside the oval of her card she used Spellbinders Mega Oval.  Here is a link to many more pictures of her creation —-> HERE.

The rest of the Creative Team has been hard at work dreaming up ways for you to use your dies.  They are an amazing group, take a peek:

The ladies have been busy creating with the new Chantilly Paper Lace Collection.
All of the dies the ladies used below belong to Amazing Paper Grace Collections

Haven’t had much time for creating the past few weeks – have been marketing at Christmas shows but you can bet the day after Christmas I’ll be at it full time again! Hugs to all of you for your inspiring works. Took a bunch of my new die cut cards along to the Christmas shows and got raves and I owe them all to Becca and the dream team! Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Layering Frame Large and Spellbinders Hemstitch Circles - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32837
Please note:  The Giveaways are all closed.  Please scroll to the bottom for winner of Spellbinders Gift Certificate.

Good morning sweet friends.   I’m tickled to be participating in the Spellbinders November Inspirational Hop and several giveaways.  It just so happens that a collection I’ve designed is in the mix today and I’m so excited to share a little bit about the Chantilly Paper Lace Collection.  The collection features embellishments as well as five layering frames that can be used alone for a quick card front, they can be cut together with a hinge for a shaped card or they can be layered over each other for a sweet romantic feel and enchanting look.  I’m so blessed to be a die designer and very much design what comes from my heart as well as feedback that I get from this wonderful community.

If you are new visitor on my blog today, I hope you’ll subscribe :-)  I’m a long time card maker and on the blog – for inspiration –  I have a pretty large visual gallery of samples, sortable by die name (color, style, size and occasion) that I’ve been building for the past 10 years.   I typically make fancy custom cards with unique layering.  If you’ve one of my subscribers then you well know that I adore ensembles.  I got started in papercrafting because I wanted to make a card to match the gift or gift box I was giving.  Along that vein, today I’m using Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame  (my clear favorite) for a classic, elegant Christmas card and matching box ensemble.

The Card
Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Layering Frame Large and Spellbinders Hemstitch Circles - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32837

One of things I’m loving about Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame is that it can be cut so many ways.   Today I wanted a deep frame so I layered up the largest diecut without the center pieces.  I stacked three dies with foam tape between them and laid in a background from a vintage dictionary.  I added a focal panel cut with Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles and stamped a sweet Quietfire Design sentiment in two colors.  For the finishing touch I fussy cut velvet petals and rolled them into flowers – I wanted to rich green and red to signal traditional holiday colors.

The Box
Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Bella Rose Layering Frame Large and Spellbinders Hemstitch Circles - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32837

The cream box is a simple one with a hinged lid closure.  From Spellbinders Bella Rose Lattice Layering Frame I scored 7/8″ and 2-3/8″ from each end.  This created a wrap.  The loops from the end of the diecut overlock each other (total coincidence) to complete the closure and box simply slides inside the wrap.  To finish it off, I added flowers!

Love the card and the box above -I like what you did with the Bella Rose frame. I purchased this frame recently but haven’t created a card with it as yet! As for how many Christmas cards I created this year, my work was done in the summer months and I may have finished at least 6-8 new ones for a total of 160 cards. I usually create 20 of each for my craft shows and online. My selling season will be over shortly for Christmas cards and I’ll use some of them for own card list. This is the most wonderful time of the year isn’t it! Hugs DianneReplyCancel

Hi there Ms. Becca, I tell you what you never cease to amaze me. So many beautiful things just seem to pour from your soul. Love love love all your dies and continue to purchase as I can. As for my Christmas cards, I make anywhere between 50 and 75 cards each year and almost entirely from scratch (as the ol’ saying goes). I just love to make pretty things and always have. Then to hear people say things like they never throw one of my cards away gives me such a special feeling. You are the very first person I ran across on the net to inspire me to make cards and I remember being awestruck at all the ways you can make paper sing. I was fortunate to win one of your cards a while back and I feel like I have a little masterpiece displayed front and center on its shelf. I just want to take the time to tell you again how much I appreciate your kindness and your talent and especially your zeal for our Heavenly Creator. I can tell you not only talk the talk but you also walk the walk so until we meet in Heaven , may God richly bless you and your family. Hugs, Denice with a “c”ReplyCancel

    Hello Becca,
You have been missed. I always looked forward to Fridays with Becca…however, your creation for this blog hop/giveaway touches my heart. You have a way of romancing the pieces and parts to make something that takes the breath away. Our house buyer feel through, so we are waiting to try again to sell in the spring. Now, what to do, as I have packed everything anticipating a Nov.29 closing. I guess I’ll just HAVE to buy your newest Dies and the small 6″ Platinum Die Cutting machine. Giggle! Best regards, SaraReplyCancel

This is a gorgeous card & gift box – such a delight for my eyes! I couldn’t be happier that Spellbinders is featuring your Chantilly Lace dies. I am always fascinated by multi-layers but some of the other bloggers highlighted just how elegant your dies can be used on their own. Fancy certainly doesn’t have to be hard and time-consuming, since YOU do all the work!
