Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Beautiful Dreamer, Spellbinders Pierced Squares - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32769
Sweet friends, I’m peeking in today with some news!  I’m really kind of excited because I have a new die collection that the Creative Team and I will be introducing on Saturday, October 14th beginning here on my blog at 9:00am Central Time with an Introducing Blog Hop.  Of course there will be some giveaways, in fact we sweeten the pot for those who make it by on Saturday!   This release is one of my favorites to date, but I guess I say that each time.  It’s a long road from inspiration to drawing, to submitting, and going through the process of getting things made and ready to go on the market.  I’m humbled that I get to go through the process and, I hope you will join us on Saturday.  Okay, so we have cards to share today, so here we go!

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Beautiful Dreamer, Spellbinders Pierced Squares - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32769
For my card today I’m using the Beautiful Dreamer die set to echo a motif around the inside of my frame and the top and bottom.  I could have easily let the design go all the way around the outside but stopped short – I liked the way it looked as a long design.  This card is so very easy – I basically glued the Beautiful Dreamer motifs to the right size of Pierced Squares and that was it.  Oh, I used a sweet little die cut sentiment from the HoHoHo Die Set that I also plan to put on tags and things this holiday season :-)

I’ve enjoyed so much dabbling with Christmas things this past week.  I’m telling myself not to skip fall, so hopefully this next week delve into all the cozy things I love about the season.  In the meantime see some more inspiration by the Creative Team!

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Ladies Shoe and Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles - see full supply list on www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32737

Yes, we make cards. Yes, we gingerly lay a postage stamp on them and send them off with good wishes tucked inside the envelope.  Have you ever stopped to think about what that does for someone?  I love to send Birthday Cards and Holiday cards because it holds up a heartfelt tradition, but by far my favorite card to send is one that lifts someone just when they need it.  Any card you send is a triumph to someone.   This actually goes out to a friend of mine who needs some sweet encouragement.  I believe in her and want her to believe in herself.  The inspiration for my card came from a set of red shoes that a friend on Instagram shows from time to time.  I got to thinking about the red shoes from the Wizard of Oz and how Glenda told Dorothy that she had the power all along.  Light bulb!  Ladies Shoe Die!  I pulled it out and made a card with glittery red slippers :-) Along with the Hemstitch Rectangles, it is a simple, simple card :-)

This really makes me smile and I hope it be a reminder to my sweet friend!

Loving all the projects today, but especially the “red shoe” card. ???? Perfect sentiment to help your friend believe in herself. ??
I am wondering if the sentiment is a stamp, or a digit saying? I think it would work for many of us in our projects of encouragement.

BEAUTIFUL BECCA!!!! Yes, your ruby red slippers look WONDERFUL! I too think of how others feel when they receive my cards, & get the most joy out of sending cards that give others a lift! Seems there are so many things that get people down. Life sometimes is just HARD! And harder for some than others…. It is nice to be a source of comfort & strength to others! Beautiful card. You “hit the nail on the head” with this one!
You couldn’t have picked a better message. This sentiment is so very true. This is just what I needed to see today. I need to make 3 cards for dear friends who are battling stage 4 cancer–knowing their time on this earth is very limited. I was feeling a little down because I know I won’t have them here with me much longer. This card helped me, now I feel I can make them something that will let them know they are not along in their journey.ReplyCancel

It made me smile too Becca – it’s beautiful and I love the encouraging words! Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Gilded Ornaments and Spellbinders Naughty or Nice - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32726
Can you take one more?  When I sat down to play around, I made a couple of shaker cards since I had all the supplies out.  Since I didn’t finish this one up in time to make the post, I thought I’d share it today.  It’s a departure from my home colors – cream and gold – but I love the contrast of the royal blue and silver.  From the batch of new holiday dies, this time around I chose Gilded Ornaments and words from the Naughty or Nice Set.  In case you didn’t see my post yesterday where I had another shaker card – it helps to see the inside to know how they are put together – I have some step shots  —> HERE (scroll down to the bottom of the post) when I did a guest spot for MFT Stamps.

Christmas Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Gilded Ornaments and Spellbinders Naughty or Nice - see full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32726
For this particular card I used Twinklets Diamond Dust as the filler for the inside of the ornaments. I think for this card I prefer it over the glitter I had, it feels heavy and moves around inside the card nicely.

Take a look through your stash for items that have rims and will let you use the inside motif as an inlaid motif or look for things have thin border around.  These are the things that make for perfect shaker cards :-)
