We’re so excited!  For months we’ve been bringing you creative ways to use your dies to make stunning cards.  Not today!! Today, we’re showing you how to make anything but a card.  I issued the challenge that the creative team could pick any die and not use it in the way in was originally intended. What that means for you is everything we are showing today is pretty much outside of the box.  Dies are meant for this kind of inspiration and as you hop around, you’ll be amazed at some gorgeous creations that will have your head shaking.  Yes there are prizes, but have your gift list sitting by so that you can pick out the next gifts you might be making for someone special.

I’ll tell you a little bit about my creation and will share a link list below so that you can see the creations of each person on the Creative Team as well as information on how three lucky people can win Amazing Paper Grace Dies.

I keep mini legal pads around the house and because they are so economical.  To make them even more of a deal, I take them to Office Depot and have them cut in half vertically and it doubles my stash.  The resulting pad is long and tall and perfect for list making.  I knew I wanted to create a little portfolio using the Filigree Bookmark Die along with the Filigree Pocket.  So I had my paper pads cut to 2-1/4″ wide and had them cut shorter to 5″ tall.  You can get 2 pads out 1 mini legal pad like I’m showing below.

I cut four bookmarks along with a piece of cardstock cut to 5″ x 5-1/4″ and scored 2-3/8″from each edge to make a tall side fold panel.  I glue a bookmark to the front, back and insides while matching to make it look like it’s one bookmark.  On the front, I folded down swirl motif by half and the half swirl on the front along with the swirl on the back, look like a full swirl.  The half mini legal pad is secure because you simply slide it into a pocket and then there is a pocket on the left hand side of the portfolio to keep other notes or your list for the day.  These tie closed but it would be just as easy to put any other closure you dream of.

Oh-me-oh-my-oh! I love both your samples! Thanks for the tip on getting the note pads cut – I’d like to think I would have come up with that idea. But, I think not!
Wow, what a great time to come up with gift ideas! Christmas will be here before we know it and even though it’s more exciting to wait until the last minute (hee, hee), now is a better time.

Mixing Elegant Textures to create a Harmonious Look - Card Making Ideas using Spellbinders Cascading Grace Pocket, Spellbinders Cinch and Go Flowers I, Spellbinders Regal Allure - see supply list and links at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32531What a beautiful morning friends, it’s gorgeous outside my window and I’m happily creating.  I”m getting ready for Tuesday because on Tuesday, August 15th the Creative Team and I will be giving away some dies and hope you will join us for our Thinking Outside of the Box Blog Hop.  We won’t be sharing cards but inventive gifts to make with dies beginning at 9:00am Central Time!   In the meantime I’m so thankful for the sunshine today.  Full of gratitude, this creating weekend has had it’s moments where the music was blaring and I was able to make a card or two for my stash. I’m thinking that it’s for a newly wed couple, but it could just as well be an encouragement to someone.  I’m trying to use dies you probably have in your stash but this weekend I played a bit with Cinch and Go Flowers I and my trusty favorite Pierced Rectangles.  I wanted a tiara back drop to honor the regal look of that paper so I used a motif from the Cascading Grace Pocket set.  Still a little bit on the plain side, I added the flourish bar from Regal Allure just to add some contrast to the gold frame and mimic the peak on the tiara.

I love sentiments full of optimism and I thought this was such a lovely reminder to stop and savor the sweetness you live every day.

For sure, inspiration for my card was this crazy cool dimensional paper that I picked up at a Sam Flaxx.  I don’t think I even know how much the large sheet cost except that I had to to have it.  At the time I thought it was a such an elegant texture but didn’t know how to work it into anything.  I went all the way classic with gold and cream just to keep all the competing elements under control, lol.

I was also inspired by the inlaid dots in the pattern so I picked the piercing rectangles to mimic those dots.

And so, I’m moving on to work on another project.  Not sure what it will be yet, but I’m sure there is something close by just waiting to inspire.

Don’t forget Tuesday, die giveaways and the Thinking Out of the Box Blog Hop as we take a break from cardmaking to make some die cut gifts! Thanks for stopping to take a peek at my makings and musings, lol!

Also, my sincere thanks for those of you who purchase dies and review their performance on Amazon.com, Scrapbook.com and Spellbinders.com or at the location of purchase.  It helps other people in their decisionmaking process :-)

Simple Note Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Mini Card/Mini Booklet Die S5-289 - full supply list at www.amazingpapergrace.com/?p=32506
Good morning!  Did you know  that cardmaking doesn’t always have to be a grand production?  True.  I’m working on not always having to have the bomb diggity card to send, especially if it is going to hold me up or keep me from getting the card in the mail.  These are two minute sweeties made with my Mini Card/Booklet die that simply use one insert, some vellum, some ribbon and a paper rose for a 4.25″ x 3.25″ cutie.  That’s it.  Plus, it was a mini craft session that made me feel as good as when a churn out a hand full of cards.  I won’t be tempted just to write my note on a plain piece of paper – I decided to do a little die cutting and maybe when the box arrives I’ll get a little ‘oooh’ :-)

Hey, also today we have a little round of up some projects created by the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team.  Wow, Tuesdays come so quickly and again this week everyone has contributed their take on their favorite Amazing Paper Grace Dies.  I hope you can take a second to breeze on through!

Here’s More Inspiration from Venice Lace!!

Joanna Krogulec (above) crafted two cards with her signature flowers.  They give the card such a dimensional look, take up a fair amount of real estate and bring multiple colors into the equation. She has used Marcheline Plume on her first card along with Isadora Trinkets for the flowers.  For her second card, she took the large lace motif from Isadora Trinkets and mirrored it on four corners to make a background.

Teresa Horner (above) created a pretty card layered up with  Ornamental Crest and some sweet patterned paper.

Melissa Bove (above) used her vintage pagers to create a sweet and shabby card using Marcheline Plume then created a lovely gift box using the Mini Booklet/Mini Card Gift Box where she uses Francesca Label as a sweet tag.

Anita Kejriwal (above) is bringing back spring with a card using Emmeline Treillage.  She anchors her card with Francesca Label and spray of spring time flowers made using Cinch and Go Flowers II

Kristi Schurr (above) wields some lovely design paper and a luscious silk ribbon in a card using  Marcheline Plume.  The birds are such a pretty focal point – she used  Graceful Tiny Tags to add a small sentiment to keep the focus on her pretty papers.
