Good morning friends! This has been the week of tone on tone here on my blog and I wanted to show you one more alternative. This is layered tone on tone where a glimmer of another color shows through from the back. Here again it adds some color but on this particular card helps to bring a little bit of definition to the border I’ve used.
Walk Through on How to Make Card
Base
This is a basic 6″ x 6″ card with a matted layer that is 5-3/4″ x 5-3/4″. I simply glued a square directly to my matted layer using Spellbinders Pierced Squares and stamped inside the square with my sentiment.
Focal Panel
The focal panel is cut from Spellbinders Gothic Border – I cut this border four times and glued it together matching at the corners to make a frame. Tiny pieces of double layered foam tape elevate it.
Embellishment
One bow with short tales to span the width of the bottom border and pearls around the square are simple enough to give a little bit of flair!
Rubber Stamps: Quietfire Design – Light Tomorrow with Today
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – 80lb Smooth, The Fine Touch Metallic Poster Board
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Pierced Squares, Spellbinders Gothic Border, Recollection Pearls, Satin Ribbon – The Paper SourceThanks for indulging me through my tone-on-tone roll. They are seriously so simple and every once in awhile that’s in order, right? Hope you have a great day! I’ll be back soon!
I love this Spellbinders die. This card is awesome. I am going to have to get this die.
This is so lovely, you make things look so simple. Seeing your beautiful work encourages me too. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Hi Becca. Classic and classy. Love it.
Good morning Becca,
Until I see dies and how you use them, I never actually get a “feel” for what it looks like. You always bring out the best of a die I cannot fathom. This one is no exception. Truly beautiful card! Will be looking for this one at Scrapbook Expo in Orlando. Are you going to be attending-wish you were teaching a class!!!

Apologies if those shows up twice, my computer did something weird with the first copy…
Wow – just wow. It takes a lot to say something just took my breath way, but that gothic square frame just did! Love the sentiment, but it could have been anything – it was secondary to design. Kudos, bows to the Mistress (Master was just wrong!) all hail…certainly deserved. This card is just all that and more. THanks, Becca…just thanks.

Dear Kathleen I am so sorry for your loss !
Hopefully you have family to share this with there is nothing
anyone can say except take care of yourself.
Please know that even though we don’t know each other personally
on this blog we do care and support each other with kind thoughts.
Hugs Pamxxxxx
Oh Kathleen…I’m so so sorry for your loss and I just want you to know that I care.
Sending you lots of comforting hugs!

Kathleen,
Please accept my condolences. Having lost my husband several years ago, I know what that pain is like. I sincerely hope you have friends and family (a support group) that can help you through the worst. The immediate pain subsides in time but the sense of loss remains. I hope there are wonderful memories that can help you as well. That is what still helps me and it has been nearly seven years. The love you felt will always be there. Take heart. May God guide your heart back to peace. Blessings to you!
So very sorry for your loss Kathleen. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling. Hopefully you have family and close friends to help you through this tough time. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Bless you.

Wow!!!! You have been on a roll Becca. I really love this card. This border is beautiful. I am such a fan of your white on white cards and when you add a touch of gold as well. Pure heaven.
Speaking of which, this border would look wonderful paired with one of the beautiful Crosses set in the center for a sympathy card, Easter card, Baptism, First Holy Communion etc. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration.
Hi Becca, I’ve really enjoyed your tone on tone this week. Such a nice, elegant look. I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day and a weekend that’s fit for recharging your creative juices. Hugs, Diana
