Bordered Light Tomorrow

Card Makiing Ideas by Becca Feeken using Quietfire Design (Light Tomorrow with Today) and Spellbinders Pierced Squares, Spellbinders Gothic Border - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends!  This has been the week of tone on tone here on my blog and I wanted to show you one more alternative.  This is layered tone on tone where a glimmer of another color shows through from the back.  Here again it adds some color but on this particular card helps to bring a little bit of definition to the border I’ve used.

Walk Through on How to Make Card

Base
This is a basic 6″ x 6″ card with a matted layer that is 5-3/4″ x 5-3/4″.  I simply glued a square directly to my matted layer using Spellbinders Pierced Squares and stamped inside the square with my sentiment.

Focal Panel
The focal panel is cut from Spellbinders Gothic Border – I cut this border four times and glued it together matching at the corners to make a frame.   Tiny pieces of double layered foam tape elevate it.

Embellishment
One bow with short tales to span the width of the bottom border and pearls around the square are simple enough to give a little bit of flair!

Accessories: Spellbinders Pierced SquaresSpellbinders Gothic Border, Recollection Pearls, Satin Ribbon – The Paper Sourcepost-header-bottomThanks for indulging me through my tone-on-tone roll.  They are seriously so simple and every once in awhile that’s in order, right?  Hope you have a great day!  I’ll be back soon!

    Good morning Becca,
Until I see dies and how you use them, I never actually get a “feel” for what it looks like. You always bring out the best of a die I cannot fathom. This one is no exception. Truly beautiful card! Will be looking for this one at Scrapbook Expo in Orlando. Are you going to be attending-wish you were teaching a class!!!

Apologies if those shows up twice, my computer did something weird with the first copy…

Wow – just wow. It takes a lot to say something just took my breath way, but that gothic square frame just did! Love the sentiment, but it could have been anything – it was secondary to design. Kudos, bows to the Mistress (Master was just wrong!) all hail…certainly deserved. This card is just all that and more. THanks, Becca…just thanks.

      Kathleen,
Please accept my condolences. Having lost my husband several years ago, I know what that pain is like. I sincerely hope you have friends and family (a support group) that can help you through the worst. The immediate pain subsides in time but the sense of loss remains. I hope there are wonderful memories that can help you as well. That is what still helps me and it has been nearly seven years. The love you felt will always be there. Take heart. May God guide your heart back to peace. Blessings to you!ReplyCancel
