Calming the Restless Sea

Hi there sweet friends.  Popping in to let you know that two of the three winners have responded.    I’ll have a further update for you tomorrow.  In the meantime, after all my errands today I got the inspiration for a card.  I was thinking petticoats, lol.  Can’t you tell?  Seriously, this is my favorite, favorite, favorite lace.  I indulged last year after I saw this in the Prima booth at CHA.  No worries, it won’t go to waste – I sew too so this may end up on the bottom of a jean jacket or something.   It was my starting point on this card and then I thought it an excellent place to showcase one of the new background stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs – the Fish Background.  It’s very subtle here because it’s stamped over top of my striped design paper – I heat embossed it with ivory embossing powder.  Then I stamped half of the sentiment from the Anchor set and behind it, very faintly, you can see the anchor image.

My focal point medallion is made up of  two of Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two with Standard Circles SM and Standard Circles LG layered on top.   Lol, you know I’m push myself from time to time to step outside of my color comfort zone – voila -purple for you.  It honestly doesn’t happen often, but I’m trying to change that!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Fish Background, Anchor
Paper: Bazzill, K & Company
Ink: Studio G (dye based)
Accessories: Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, Spellbinders Standard Circles SM, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Ivory Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Prima Lace Pearls

You all are the sweetest!  I’m cooking up some good stuff for you!!  Come back and see me soon!

So many little details to get to the altogether glorious finish. The first thing that popped out at me was the ribbon corner and the pinking on the bottom of the bow tails. After reading each comment, I had to go back and look at that particular detail. Then, the oh so gentle anchor stamp. So beautifully understated. Like some of your other followers I could not quite take in that you stamped on your DP. Yes, you told us, but really, who does that? Except you!

I love every little thing about this card. You done did it again!ReplyCancel
