Hi there blog friends! As promised, I rolled random.org to get the winner. I hope you’ll take a second to pop in and see if it was you.
If the winner could please reach out to me through my contact page with your mailing address within 48 hours. With no response, I’ll pick a new name. Remember, I save packages until I have a few, then I make a post office run :-)
There were a lot of great clearance stories. It almost makes me feel as if I’m been living under a rock. There is no doubt that a frugal crafter will find a sale!! I’ve found some great items on clearance in my day many years ago I had a favorite sale I would attend. I’m a knitter too and more specifically I do machine knitting. That’s the impatient part of me, on a machine I can get a sweater done in two days :-) Knitting machines take cone yarn but it’s a tad pricey, besides being a little hard to find. It would begin at a couple of dollars a pound and go up – something like silk would be through the roof. I found a place in Cartersville, Georgia that sold yarn but better yet had a sale every July. They said to get anything good you needed to come early and camp out. So for years my family and I made the trip and could camp out the day before to get our place at the door. Once inside, you could have anything you could snag for $1.00 a pound, including some ribbons and laces. My family and I would case the yarn mill out the day before to see where all the expensive stuff was. Then when they opened the doors at 5am on the day of the sale – everyone would bust in and run along raking cones of yarn into big boxes. A stocked warehouse quickly emptied within and hour or so, with knitters, weavers, spinners and other artisans leaving quite happy. Pity, R&M Yarns moved to Tennessee and there’s no more sale, but every year the same people would come. Even though it was a hectic run to grab the best stuff, people were friendly!!
So as not to make it too confusing, I’ll show the winner for buttons tomorrow and I’ll have something new to show then.
Congratulations Vivace! Hope you see the post.
Congrats to Vivace
Congrats Vivace! You lucky girl. Enjoy!
Blessings Bernie
Here I thought that I was the only machine knitter around. I am very happy that someone else does it as well. You can also add spinning and weaving and a few other things. It’s a wonder that I have time in my day for making a card.
Congratulations Vivace! This is such a great blog to visit isn’t it? It is like having eye candy each and every day.

Becca, as a weaver I knew about R&M, but never made it to the sale. (lived in New England then) Then when I moved, so did they! Funny when I started to read your post I was thinking, hmmm need to tell her about R&M! Congrats to Vivace, she’s gonna be thrilled!

Hi Becca, This is the first time I have commented. I love your beautiful cards and my hubby made me a peg bow tier and my card friends all wanted one as well so he has had something to occupy his spare time. I am in Australia and love making cards. We are a smal group (10-12) who meet twice weekly to make our cards. I have just bought a die cutter and ordered Spellbinders dies to get started. I just get so much pleasure from my cards and my craft room & stash has been a long term project(10yrs). A girl has to have a hobby. Kind Regards Robyn
I’m so excited for you Vivace! Woot woot! Congrats!

The card, All Our Best Wishes, is beautiful and made me decide to subscribe to your blog. What did you use for the the swirls on the background? It looks like wood but maybe it’s chipboard? Would love to make this card. Thanks,

Hello Becca, I am from Australia & my friend & I are eager each day to see your new cards. We get really great ideas from you….many thanks. We were wondering if you would be able to do a few male type cards as we are often stuck for ideas, thanks Wendy H
Hello Becca, Wendy H had a wonderful idea for some cards for the males. They seem hard to make. Thanks
