Day 21 – 30 Days of Giving

Friendship Cardmaking Ideas by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Antique Corner - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there folks, please tell me if this is an age thing or a sign of having too much!  When I come across something that I don’t want to lose, I think to myself – ‘better put that in a special place or else I’ll lose it’.  Then guess what, I can never find that special place that I was so sure would make sense when I went to find ‘that thing’.  Welcome to my week!!  All over my house things are sitting in their ‘special place’ and I can’t find them; today I spent 1 hour looking.  The only saving grace is that most of the time while I’m looking I locate something, long since surrendered, that’s been missing for a long time :-)

If you’re new to the blog, welcome to my 30 Days of Giving – every day during the month of July I’m giving away a handmade card – you can read all the specifics HERE.  You can check to see if you’ve won a card by searching for your name on the Giveaway Winners page.  You get there by the menu at the top of the page – put your cursor on Features then look down the list and select Giveaway Winners.

For today’s comment –  where do you fit in –  lean crafter – rockin’ with just what you need, collector – like to acquire everything over time, hoarder – you want it all.  Fess up :-)

The card that’s being given away today is shown above.  Just a note – this is a card that has been shown before and there is a possibility that some of the supplies that were used are currently discontinued, no doubt there will be something you can substitute – have a look through my galleries for alternative ideas.  Many things can still be found on the open market, just google and you’ll find that many retailers are still selling.

I guess you would say I am a hoarder. I have more supplies than I will ever use in my life time. I will be 62 in September and even if I scrapbooked, made cards, or other paper crafts 24 hours a day, I would never be able to use it all.ReplyCancel

    Becca,
OK this is the question! I want every Spellbinder die they make!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful card, bow, color, everything. I remember this card and again one that I copied!!

I like to acquire everything over time, hoarder – yes i want it all, that’s half the fun for me.

I am definitely a hoarder. I love all of the supplies that are out there and, then, when I buy paper that I really love, I like to save it.ReplyCancel

  • Karen GreissJuly 21, 2015 - 8:19 am

Call me a …well organized hoarder! I see a card (usually one of yours lol) and have to have all it takes to make it….then use those items once or twice…then on to other thinngs I had to have.If I worked every day in my craft room, I would still not use all that I have.ReplyCancel

  • Janet CobbJuly 21, 2015 - 8:20 am

I guess hoarder…but not by intent! I have won so many papercrafting supplies in contests that I don’t know if I will ever use it all (I admit that I still buy things, too!)!! This card is amazingly beautiful. Gonna be a lucky winner that gets this one!ReplyCancel

Love your card, I remember when you first posted it I thought how lovely it was and so simple.
I suppose you would call me a hoarder, my husband does, for I have more things than I will ever use, and still want the new things that keep coming out.ReplyCancel

    Another absolutely adorable card today!
I’m bound by a fixed income, so I tend to pick up supplies on clearance which leads to quite a hoard… my precious!ReplyCancel

  • Karen K.July 21, 2015 - 8:28 am

Boy can I relate to this. I used to remember everything, but 3 years ago I suffered from a burst brain aneurysm, and I couldn’t even remember if I ate. Things are way better now and I can remember. One thing I learned to do was to keep a journal, and put post it notes as reminders. My house looked like Ray Rayner’s- remember all his reminder notes? Haha
So glad I survived all this! I haven’t written to you in ages!ReplyCancel

Who doesn’t want it ALL? I want every single speelbinders products there is, and I want every single card you make, but because that will not happen, I just copy them and do them again using different colors. I am hopelessly hoping (HA, HA) that by duplicating your cards I will get some of your talent. Keep hoping.ReplyCancel

I believe I am a slightly organized hoarder. I love a lot of the newest dies from various companies, unfortunately I can only dream as I don’t want to be “craft-poor” and buy them only when I can afford them. LOVE LOVE LOVE your card today!ReplyCancel

  • Stephanie WJuly 21, 2015 - 8:38 am

I’m a collector – mostly of paper and dies. Thanks to finances I collect slowly but that’s actually a good thing because I make sure I really want something and am not just following a trend.ReplyCancel

    Beautiful card once again, Becca.
I admire the way you always use the ribbons and bows, just wonderful!
No doubt, I am a hoarder.
Unfortunately, I am an addicted “must-have” person when it comes to scrapping supplies, and have more than I can ever use ;))ReplyCancel

  • Charlene DahlbergJuly 21, 2015 - 8:50 am

I am so guilty of being a collector – no, wait – make that a hoarder. Paper and dies are my downfall – along with Pan Pastels, copics, watercolors – well, you get the idea. I guess there are worse things I could be doing….
Love your card.Becca. It is lovelyReplyCancel

  • Cheryl StaufferJuly 21, 2015 - 8:52 am

Guess I am between a hoarder and want it all!! As most stampers I need to chose my purchases very carefully due to finances but I do have a very large collection of stamps, mixed media supplies and die cuts (which I am so addicted to!!).
I love your use of ribbon today in such a unique way.ReplyCancel

  • Sally J.July 21, 2015 - 8:52 am

I would fall in the collector category. I have a lot of stuff but have acquired it all little by little. I have been a stamper now for several years and have added to my “stash”. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful cards with us!ReplyCancel

  • Niki WinchellJuly 21, 2015 - 8:54 am

Wow! Such a gorgeous card. I remember when you showed it before, and I wished I could copy it.

I think I’m a collector, although if funds were not an issue, I could turn into a hoarder. I am making an effort to use what I have, not add to it.

Thanks for sharing your talents with us.ReplyCancel

  • Cathy HomanJuly 21, 2015 - 8:55 am

Thank you Becca for all the inspiration that you share with us! As I have got older I have often put things in a certain ‘special’ place, with the intention that they are not lost forever. I craft with a little more than what I need. I say this because I have supplies I have to learn how to use yet. Each week I try to learn how to use what I have and try to get things to go with what I already have. I have not been crafting a long time so I have a lot to learn.ReplyCancel

  • Juanita BraunJuly 21, 2015 - 9:03 am

Love the soft pink in this card. It is just beautiful! Well, I am a hoarder but I like to think of it as I am a collector. I still have drawers full of dies, ect that I have bought at previous shows over the years and have not used them yet. I am sure glad I have them though. I always knew there would come a time when I retire and would not have the money to buy so much so I went full steam ahead. I am now retired but it has not ended my buyingn spree of Spellbinders. The cards that you are showing now, if I don’t have that die I am ordering it. I MUST have it all!ReplyCancel

Pink was my Mom’s favorite color especially roses. Beautiful card! Is it fair to say all 3 reasons Collector-Hoarder and yes I want it all. I love to create-I see something new and my mind wonders but what I need to do is create as soon as I see the product-not just dream. Have a great day Becca!!ReplyCancel

  • Christine Harrop, Oxfordshire, UKJuly 21, 2015 - 9:25 am

Oh, I am most definitely a hoarder. I have paper and card stock in my stash which are so beautiful I just can’t bear too use them! Stupid, or what? I used to feel very guilty about the amount of money I spent on my crafting until my wonderful sister put it into perspective. She said – “You don’t smoke and don’t spend a fortune on clothes. If you went to a football match (soccer to you guys in the USA) it would cost a small fortune these days. You get a great deal of pleasure from what you do, and it results in an end product which then gives other people pleasure too.” Do you wonder why I love my sister? Hugs Christine xxReplyCancel

  • JanetJuly 21, 2015 - 9:25 am

I must admit I’m a hoarder. I have so many treasures and not just for paper crafting. I have yarn and material also. I have more than I need and don’t craft as often as I should partly because I have so many treasures and can’t always find exactly what I want in my treasures.

Becca, your cards are just absolutely gorgeous and I just love seeing them.

The art of letter writing is slowly fading and I keep saying I was going to pick it back up. When I was a teenager, my cousins and I use to write letters all of the time. I was the once who got the most mail in the family because of letter writing. I truly need to pick it up again.

Thanks so much for this series. I’ll have to go back and read the comments from your readers because they are so inspiring.ReplyCancel

  • Wanda ThomasJuly 21, 2015 - 9:27 am

Well actually I prefer the term “gatherer” instead of “hoarder” but that’s my category. I really do use a lot, but more goes in than comes out. And my worst habit is when I find something that’s perfect for what I’m doing, I often say to myself “I’d better save that because I really like it and there may not be anymore.” See, I feel better already having confessed my sins.
    Awesome card as usual!ReplyCancel

  • SuzzieQJuly 21, 2015 - 9:28 am

Your card today is lovely. I especially like the way you placed your ribbon and added the pearls for a tuxedo look.

When it comes to cardmaking, I am a “want it all” girl. I don’t want to need that special item and not have it in the middle of making my card. The problem I am having is storing all these little bits of “everything” and the ton of cardstock I now have on hand. It seems I would rather make something than organize my stash. Regarding finding that special item that has been put in a safe place, I have that problem too. However, for me, the item doesn’t have to be special anymore. Each day seems to bring another issue of “where did I put it”.ReplyCancel

  • Judy InukaiJuly 21, 2015 - 9:32 am

Love the sentiment you used on the card. The ribbon on the card is gorgeous. I guess I fall into the collector/hoarder category. I’m collecting Spellbinders dies – just placed an order to take advantage of their July sale – and of course the ones I need most are the ones you’ve used. I’m a hoarder when it comes to patterned paper or double sided scrapbook card stock. I keep buying it, but then I can’t bear to cut into it to use it on a card.ReplyCancel

  • JanJuly 21, 2015 - 9:32 am

Another beauty, Becca! Love that soft pink. Now to answer your question. I am a hoarder. Okay, there I said it. I’ve publicly confessed. I want it all. I constantly battle trying to fit more into an overfull craft room. I love pretty craft stuff.ReplyCancel

The put something up so you will be able to find it. And then you can remember where you put it. I will hide candy so my grandchildren won’t eat all of it. I am a hoarder. Put the problem is I have no organization so I can’t always find the items I am looking for. My husband said if I had a fifty room mansion I would fill it up. Sometimes I buy paper and then it so pretty I don’t want to use it as I know I can’t find more. Have a wonderful day.ReplyCancel

LOL!!!! I don’t think it’s an age thing, Becca! I do it too…place things in “special places” so I will remember…but, to forget where that “special place” is! I’ve done it FOR YEARS!!!! LOL

Your card is BEAUTIFUL!!! LOOOVE how you put the ribbon on this one! NEAT IDEA!!! ;)

As for your question, I have changed over the years….I used to be a hoarder. I couldn’t get the products fast enough. Over time, I have realized I don’t NEED EVERYTHING, nor do I need it RIGHT NOW! LOL Now, I am more of a “Lean Crafter.” I never did get to the point of wanting to purge everything to begin again either… LOLReplyCancel

As for supplies, I want it all but can’t afford it so just save for the things that I want or put it on my Christmas wish list. I do have a lot of dies, but mostly the older ones and I love using them. A card, to me, seems bare unless you have a diecut of some sort on it.ReplyCancel

  • Charlotte ZweigoronJuly 21, 2015 - 10:05 am

Another simple yet simply gorgeous card, Becca. Still trying to figure out how you do those lovely satin bows. Mine are always bulky and tend to slip apart even though I use an excellent bow maker (by Becca Feeken!). As to your question: I am, as usual, a combination of the types listed. I have learned the style of dies I prefer and the colors of paper I am drawn to; I keep those colors stocked and watch for that type of die. I have learned that I do not like circles (cards or dies) but I LOVE dotted anything. I use my Distress Inks and re-inkers instead of many of the things on the market… I love versatility in a product and don’t go for a different tool for everything. (One exception: I have an envelope maker and a score board.) I want one tool to do many things. (I absolutely love the way you find so many ways to use one die.) So, I think I am “lean” in a way. Yet, I have a stuffed craft room… and I know where every single thing is in that craft room… and can always find room for more!!ReplyCancel

Oooh your card has taken by breath away Becca. Sooo feminine, really magnificent. I just love how you’ve handled the ribbon ends and the placing of the pearls down either side of the centre join. Reminds me of a fancy bodice. I can’t recall seeing this card before, must have been one of the numerous times my computer was playing up!
Embarrassed to say ‘Hoarder’ would describe me. Well, I have duplicate dies, duplicate stamps and paper that is too nice to use!!. I almost always shop online which presents problems when it comes to matching up colours and colour shades so I can’t even guess when all the card and paper will be used up but I need more ;)ReplyCancel

  • DK KeelsJuly 21, 2015 - 10:31 am

Currently, I am mindful and attempt to be balanced about my crafting supplies. There have been times in the past where supplies overwhelmed my creativity. A few moves around the country have remedied that situation. Now I evaluate my purchases (even when they are only 25 cents at Michaels). I have found that “scrap – busting” ideas\books really help. Most importantly, I have learned the freedom and joy of “letting go”.ReplyCancel

WOW! what kind of crafter am I? I think I will have to say I am a collector. I have only been in this for 2 years and I am acquiring bits and pieces, especially dies. I wait for sales and use coupons all the time.I do hoard some papers as I fall in love with them and hard to part with as I know I will probably not see them again. Doing beautiful work as you Becca is taking time but I am getting there with your help.ReplyCancel

  • bunnyJuly 21, 2015 - 10:36 am

Lean crafter. If it’s not been used in 6 months (not including seasonal) it needs to be traded with a friend, given away or sold. When you don’t have a paying job you have to be very selective what you purchase. There are so many things I’d love to have, especially the new stuff.

It’s so true that if you send out a smile it returns to you.ReplyCancel

  • Clare WJuly 21, 2015 - 10:37 am

I am a collector/hoarder. But I have to have it well organised. I keep things for ages, just in case, don’t use them, then bin them or give to charity etc., then I need them! The times this has happened and usually it’s something that’s difficult to find again. Soooo frustrating! Everything has its place and that’s where it lives. If I move anything to a special place I put a post it where it should logically live with a note of its special place. The times I’ve searched for items I’ve put in a special place and can’t remember where that is. It makes me mad! It’s always in the last place I look after I’ve turned the place upside down trying to find it making a mess and spending hours in the process. I’ve often joked I should keep a special places book to refer to.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca!

What a lovely card today! Soft pink is so delicate and sweet…Love it.

I must confess, I am a borderline collector/hoarder. I do tend to want it all and it is had to use up supplies b/c “if I run out, I will never be able to get it again.”

    Valerie

BTW…I can NEVER find what I have put away in a special place. If I was the swearing kind of girl, I’d swear that I spend more time trying to find something that I know I have than actually crafting.ReplyCancel

Good morning Becca, another beautiful gem!!! I too put things in a safe place, so safe
I can’t find it, and have done for years!!! Paper and card stock are my real downfall!!!
I have to have it but never use it I just keep it for a special occasion which is stupid really!!! Definitely a hoarder!!! Oh dear me!!!

I do not call it hoarding, I call keeping the necessary tools handy (dies, stamps, paper and etc) to spread beauty in the world. In other words hoarding, yes I confess.ReplyCancel

Until 2015 I spent about $500 per year on this hobby. This year I decided that I would buy glue and tape (consumables) in an effort to use what I have on hand. Initially it was difficult as I love dies, but now I’m real okay with my decision.ReplyCancel

Beautiful card again Becca! Yes, I admit I put things in their ‘special’ place only to find when I need that thing that I don’t remember where that ‘special’ place is! Very frustrating! I think it’s to do with age and not being able to remember.

I admit to being a hoarder. Have lots of stuff I absolutely had to have but haven’t yet used it. I want it all and don’t necessarily follow trends so much, just buy what I like. Have tons of paper, stamps, and especially ribbon that I had to have but shamefully have never used.ReplyCancel

  • Laura PapercutsJuly 21, 2015 - 11:34 am

hahaha…well I will admit I will buy all kinds of embellishments IF they’re on sale. So I have tons of stuff waiting to be used. Mostly I tend to layer paper….and just enough to make it purrrrdy. Not to many heavy tangly things added just because it costs more to mail them.

    I remember this card! xoReplyCancel

I’m a lean collector. I usually get what I need for a project but when I see a sale or just a plain pretty paper, etc. I become a collector. Some days I look over my stash and think I could open my own store. I do buying a few new dies each year. I am trying to look at the dies I have and use them in a different way.
Thanks again for this fun blog and give-away.ReplyCancel

I loved this card!!!! But, not sure there has ever been a card that you have made that I didn’t just love. I guess I fall into the category of “Hoarder”. I love making things and like to have what I need on hand, so I have tons of paper collections, Spellbinder dies, punches, die cutting machines, sewing machines, fabric, woodworking tools, paints, pens, stamps, inks etc. Do I have more then I need???? Do I want it all???? Absolutely!! But I very seldom have to run to the store to try and find something at the last minute and in my defense, I do have a fairly large house with two rooms set up with storage for my craft addiction and I have a very support husband. LOL

I love the new, the excitement of the unexpected ribbon texture, paper design, newest dies and stamps. I regularly turn over my craft supplies every year and dispense in a great free for all at really almost giving it away prices. I only have about 3 – 4 stamps that I have kept since starting this hobby 19 years ago.
I keep some cards that I have made and cards that inspire me. This would be a thrill to have one of your creations in my humble craft room.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, Another gorgeous card here from your hands again today. I totally love your style and your gorgeous work, and I still hope, I´ll be soo lucky to win one of your gorgeous cards here, before it´s all over.
About todays comment, then I think, I´m one of those, who have and get what I need, but often wish I could afford much more, but as I´m on health retirement pay, there´s not much to play with anymore, and then I think, we all know, this kind of things are the first to be cut back on, but luckily I´m very good at recycling loads of things, and there really are lots of things, that works really well for all kinds of crafting and also cardmaking, so I always find a way of things, even I´m missing an item or two, so I´m doing just fine amuway, and will do just great.ReplyCancel

  • Kristine VencelJuly 21, 2015 - 12:12 pm

Hahahahahahaha! What a question! Of course I started out with just a few items. Went to other people’s craft rooms & said “I will never have that much stuff. How can they use it all?”
Now, even though I look for sales, use coupons, & only stick to my style of items, I have definitely accumulated a “stash”! Every year I purge & say “no more stuff”!
Then, something new draws my attention & somehow works its way into my room! Huh! Imagine.
I definitely think the Internet has become my worst enemy. I love to peruse blogs & Pinterest for ideas. And I find them. I also find “things” that I fall in love with. It could be worse. I could be out at the local bar is what I tell my hubby! Lol
Another gorgeous card up for grabs today, Becca. ????ReplyCancel

Have to say if anyone needs anything, they call me…I have collected for the 10 years I have been crafting and have a lot of everything at my house…especially dies and stamps! There! lI said it and fessed up! I do shop with coupons and sales ‘almost’ all the time, so really do not feel guilty! I craft everyday and dislike the hassle of having to run to the store or online to find what I need to do a project!

Good Morning, Becca! I am getting so much enjoyment out of this “30 Days of Giving Series” of yours. Seeing an exquisite card each and every day from your stash is such a pleasure! As to the question of the day: I have so many obsessions: a paper fetish, a ribbon fetish, a love of all dies, a gene that forces me to buy many, many stamps beyond my means and something in my psychic that compels me to buy every color in a particular marker, spray or paint line. I guess I will fess up and gleefully put myself in the “like to acquire everything over time – hoarder” category.ReplyCancel

  • NancyRJuly 21, 2015 - 12:30 pm

Very, very pretty. Fancy, yet simple all at the same time. Love it! As far as buying, it all depends on what the item is. If it is an ink that I find I love, then I need all of the colors. Cardstock and papers are less of a hoarder unless again I find something that I love, then I will get lots of it. I’m always concerned that something I use a lot will be discontinued. Although hubby will say that I’m a hoarder, then I just show him pix of somebody else’s craft room!ReplyCancel

  • MarilynYJuly 21, 2015 - 12:48 pm

Oh merci. To be called a Collector is saying it nicely but honestly, I’m more of a hoarder. Blame it on when I used to teach Therapeutic Art where you had to have everything available to produce a completed project. So now that I am completely enthralled by this ultimate hobby, I find that my habit of collecting everything that I can envision for future projects makes my shopping sprees look wild. Plus the fact that there are few craft stores here and I have to rely on craft websites. And I do like to have all supplies readily available when I start a project.ReplyCancel

  • Christine MillerJuly 21, 2015 - 1:27 pm

I am probably on the “lean” side but “gaining” slowly. One of the principles I try to adhere to is: “The most expensive items in our homes are the ones that go unused.” I really try to evaluate items before purchase by asking questions about versatility, storage space, cost of “add-ons”, and so forth. I started making cards to “use up” scrapbooking left-overs, but eventually succumbed to a nice, but manageably sized stamp collection and a good collection of 6 x 6 card stock pads. Many of the “non-consumable” things such as tools can be used for both crafts and also to make decorations for my elementary classroom, so I have a clear conscience about “my crafting stuff”.ReplyCancel

I had to comment today because your question made me laugh out loud!!! I tend to go by the way of “collector” pushing to the first stages of “hoarder”! I do use the items I have, but then there are some things that I just haven’t used because I haven’t found “the right project” to use it on. I used to buy a ton of patterned scrapbook paper (and never use it), but haven’t bought any in a quite a long while as I haven’t worked on my scrapbook. I use digi papers for my cards or make my own patterned paper with stamps, and other mediums. I am LOVING your 30 Days of Giving. Thank you for doing this.ReplyCancel

I also have gotten more lean on some things…more astute on not buying something just because. I now make myself stop, and not just dream but imagine…how would this look, where would it go, how would I use….and I have pared Dow a lot of embellishments that way! Also, if I like two things out of a package of six, does it make any sense to buy the pack?

Another day to find gratitude in my passion, and my craft…in my learnings and in this community. thanks, Becca!

Love your work! I’m glad I am not alone, it looks like a lot of us are hoarders. I love stamps with matching dies. And of course I love spellbinder dues too. I just want it all.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca loved this card the first time very girly !
Pleased to hear EVEN YOU misplace things makes us all feel normal !
At least when they turn up its a good feeling the fact they are not lost.
I AM A HORDER can not believe I just said that. ,!!! I put it down to
    appreciating their value lol.
I do like to share with my friends that is a good feeling .
Good luck everyone and well done to the winners.
Still have a few days to go ………

    I am not a hoarder, I am not a hoarder, I am not…
You get the idea! I get rid of things but love having my craft supplies.ReplyCancel

  • Cyndy WJuly 21, 2015 - 6:07 pm

Beautiful card Becca! Loving collector that has morphed into a hoarder- that is me! Had to build a new craft room to house all of my stuff–in my book,a girl can never have too many crafty items–besides, I’m saving up for retirement! lolReplyCancel

  • BrendJuly 21, 2015 - 6:18 pm

Beautiful card! I think I’m a little bit of a hoarder but I’m getting rid of things I probably won’t use or have never used a little at a time.ReplyCancel

  • Carol H.July 21, 2015 - 6:18 pm

Well the you describe it, I’m definitely on the hoarder side. LOL! I have done a very good job at using my patterned paper and not buying more this year. I just love patterned paper but really struggle to know how to fit it into cards and scrapbook pages. Your pink card is so beautiful!ReplyCancel

  • Debbie DunhamJuly 21, 2015 - 6:26 pm

Gorgeous card! I am a collector. I buy things on a regular basis to try and get a little of everything. I like to try different things.ReplyCancel

I am a lean crafter who will look in my supplies to see what I have that can be used to make a card similar to the one I saw.

I am a collector who will buy things over time.

I am a hoarder unintentionally. I have acquired a lot over time, and know I won’t get to use it all.

    I am a stamper!ReplyCancel

  • Sandy HaysJuly 21, 2015 - 6:55 pm

I am a total and complete craft hoarder. I tell myself… “No more stamps, no more dies, and no more paper!” And what do you think I do with my Joanne coupons?! I’m sick.ReplyCancel

  • CatherineC in CanadaJuly 21, 2015 - 7:08 pm

I do that all the time. I manage to find a place so safe that it’s safe from me!
Hm, honestly a hoarder at least when it comes to dies. Paper, I am perforce a lean crafter. I have limited space. Given that dies take up so little space, I ca afford to hoard them. The CRd Creator series is particularly versatile.ReplyCancel

  • QuiltstamperJuly 21, 2015 - 7:12 pm

Ohhh, I admit to being a borderline hoarder. Borderline, because sometimes I actually say No to a new item, at least for the time being. Love your card.ReplyCancel

This is one of your cards that I have wanted to make since you first posted it. I guess you could call me a collector. When I see a card like this, I want the dies and everything it takes to make it. Eventually, I will get around to making it. Thank you for the opportunity to win it.ReplyCancel

  • KathyJuly 21, 2015 - 7:28 pm

  • Sandy ArtmanJuly 21, 2015 - 7:38 pm

    Hi, Becca,
I suspect you are in very good company. I know exactly what you are talking about. I’ve even prayed for divine guidance-and found what I was looking for. A miracle!

I’d like to say I’m a collector but one look at my stash and I’d be busted. Guilty as charged.

I love what you did with the ribbon in the corners of this card. I’ve covered all 4 corners of a card but have never handled this way – great idea!

    Blessings,
    SandyReplyCancel

  • Dalyce MangumJuly 21, 2015 - 7:53 pm

This card is one of my favorite! !!! I would love to be picked for this one.
I would say my kind of crafting is all three.
Sometimes I go with what I have. If I’ve got the money at the time I want to buy as I go along. When I see good deals. And yes, I have to say that at times I do hoard things.ReplyCancel

  • MargaretJuly 21, 2015 - 7:56 pm

    Becca,
Another beautiful card today. I spend most evenings and lots of my day off crafting, preparing for a class I give every second Monday or doing cards to order. I so enjoy making and love to have some free time to try out things that I have seen on your blog or on Pinterest. I wish I had more time to craft as the day job gets in the way all the time.
Thank you for all your inspiration .

  • Janice BrummettJuly 21, 2015 - 8:08 pm

Very pretty card, as always. Love the ribbon technique, I must try it on my sister’s birthday card. You never cease to amaze me. Now, the question of the day: HOARDER no question about it! One can never have to many stamps, dies, embossing folders, chalk, ink pads, markers, colored pencils, copic/spectrum noir pens and of course paper. I am a paperholic. If I made 100 cards a day for the rest of my life, I would still have paper left! LOLReplyCancel

  • PamJuly 21, 2015 - 8:11 pm

I don’t just want it all, I NEED it all!ReplyCancel

  • Marilyn in E~TownJuly 21, 2015 - 8:12 pm

WOW loaded question. . . I would like to think I fit in the middle, of course every time something new in the Becca Fekken collection comes out, I’m drooling and must have it!!! I have a lot of supplies, but I do know every time I go on line and do some searching oh boy, there sure is a whole lot out there I would love to have, or at least have a chance to use it at least once!
I’m not a horder, but then I’m not skimpy on supplies either, love to have supplies on hand since I DO NOT live by any craft stores, with that said I’m sure my better half, my love, my husband would say I have it ALL in his eyes!!!
I marvel over this card and how well you got your ribbon to go over those corners, quite impressive!
Becca thank you for the 30 Days of Giving, I so have loved the questions, thinking, and answering, it has stretched my thought process out of the box!ReplyCancel

  • Karen RatcliffeJuly 21, 2015 - 9:03 pm

What a beautiful delicate, lacy looking card. Love it!! I’m a crafter who unfortunately sees crafts and wants the dies and etc to make what I’ve seen! My eyes are bigger than my crafting practice! I’m trying to organize my craft items so I can be more productive!! I guess you could call me a hoarder with my craft products.ReplyCancel

  • Victoria DentJuly 21, 2015 - 9:05 pm

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!! I definitely fit into the upper end of the scale of being a hoarder. My craft room was described as, “Victoria, this looks like a store. It’s like walking into JoAnns or Hobby Lobby.” Yeah, don’t judge me, it is all paid for, free and clear to the Glory of God! I am blessed beyond measure and pass those blessings on. Love your work.ReplyCancel

Right now I am in So Calif doing a shop hop of scrapbook stores. Drove 225 miles to get to our first store. Do I need anything more. No. Did I but at all 8 stores YES. It is an addiction. Tomorrow 5 more stores then back home.
Love this card. So many possibilitiesReplyCancel

  • Sue D.July 21, 2015 - 10:14 pm

What a pretty card! I love what you have created with the ribbon and your bows are always perfect. Well, I am a hoarder in the sense that I save all sorts of what-nots in case I could use them on a card. On the other hand, I can’t afford to buy near what I would like to, so I can’t go all out. That would be nice!ReplyCancel

  • Kathy mJuly 21, 2015 - 10:26 pm

Definitely hoarder regarding some brands, especially the brands you use! I could probably start my own store!ReplyCancel

  • Lu CJuly 22, 2015 - 12:18 am

Yes! I have had the same problem of trying to remember where that ‘special something” is. I finally got so frustrated I now have a special notebook that is dedicated to record the ‘new’ home of that special something. NOT kidding. I do this. And, end up using that notebook often. LOL!
As for crafting I am the collector. Don’t have to have it all…but must have most because I am sure I will need it at some point.ReplyCancel

Hi Bekka, Beautiful feminine card, so pretty, I love it. I have not been crafting very long, but am surprised by the amount of goods that I gave acquired up to now, it’s surprising how it mounts up just by buying a little here and a little there!!! LOL. Linda.ReplyCancel

  • Sandi SmithJuly 22, 2015 - 4:25 am

Hi Becca – I do the exact thing with things I think I’ll need at a specific time. I used to be able to remember where I put those “special things” but age and memory fog from medications make it more difficult each year. I have a wonderful brother-in-law who has early onset Alzheimers. It’s such a tragedy watching the ravages of this terrible disease. He was my sister’s high school sweetheart and they’ve been married 46 years. I know no one is exempt from this disease but I do believe we can keep our brains healthy and I’m trying to do that.
I didn’t intend to get serious but this is an issue close to my heart. So…I love your fabulous peach card. Your “out of the box” use of the ribbon is so creative. I love this wonderful sharing of your art. I enjoy seeing the variety of your creations consecutively. It’s so inspiring.ReplyCancel

    • Sandi SmithJuly 22, 2015 - 9:10 pm

I was c reading comments from this post and when mine came up, I realized I didn’t answer about my habits regarding crafting materials. I definitely was a hoarder in the past. I actually have accumulated 14 different die cutting systems! Of course, I have dies to go with the non electronic systems. Spellbinders are my very favorite. I also have more paper than I could use in two lifetimes. lol! Looking back, I wish I had approached my paper crafting differently. We lived in a rural area when I began with no local shopping so I shopped “ahead” just in case I might need it. I wish I had been more directed.
Today, I am more selective . I am still hooked on beautiful Spellbinders dies and they are my splurge. I haven’t purchased paper in m o re than a year. Not even cardstock. When I am physically able, I plan on a major purge and reorganization. I think I’m a “collector” now. I hope I can stay that way. When you’ve been laid up for 7 months, you can do a lot of online shopping. (big smile). I’m working on being selective!ReplyCancel

Morning Becca, Hahahahahaha, I do that all the time !!!!! it is so annoying when you can’t find it though, isn’t it hahaha.
A stunning card, I love how you have done the ribbon at the corners, so effective.
I am a hoarder, and I always ‘want it all’ hahaha, so much so, that I buy stuff when I see it being demo’d and then after a while I can’t remember what to do with it !!!! what is all that about hahaha.
You have given me quite a few chuckles today.
Lots of love from Patricia xxReplyCancel

This card is so delicate and soft, I love the way you use the ribbon, have never seen anything like if before, it just adds so much!
Well I am fessing up, I am a collector of wonderful objects that I know I will use sometime, I hate having to go out and find just the thing for a project, I want it near or close somewhere in the basement. In face a couple of weeks ago I was drilling holes in hockey pucks and the most wonderful black curls came out, was I surprised, they went into a ziplock bag for later, I just might need them. The reason I don’t get anything done is I have too much stuff, but hubby is retiring next year, so I know the end of the buying season will be over. Then I can play with all my hoarder objects.

    Hugs and God Bless,
    GretchenReplyCancel
