Hello y’all! Spring really faked us out, hunh? No worries, one thing I know for sure is that it is coming – I have good authority on that! I’m curled up today with my hot coffee in my toasty sweats, looking outside and eagerly waiting for that day to come. Even though it’s nippy outside, inside my desk is full!
Today I’m sharing an easy card. I used one die and I used two colors of paper. All I did was cut the die, add some matting layers and add a sentiment, a bow and pearls. That’s it!! So often I get comments that say something like I wish I could make that. My whole point today is that you can and I want to encourage you to do it!
So on to my card for today. This is a 6-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ layered card – I used Spellbinders Fleur De Square using the large square for my bottom latter and turning the smaller medium square on point for some dramatic contract. Oops, I fibbed, I pulled in another die for the sentiment – I used Spellbinders Arched Swallowtail Pennants. Lol, there’s not much else to say except that this die is absolutely gorgeous – how easy it was to work with and I love making a card in less than an hour!!
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card. The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11. You can check the list of winners HERE!
This is going to need an explanation – and the question this week is a tough one. Don’t answer if you don’t want but I think about these things. A sweet friend of mine passed away this week. I’ve been travelling quite a bit and have been so unbelievably busy lately that I didn’t have the chance to talk to her since December. I didn’t even know how sick she was. Of course, in retrospect I regret that I was so busy. I can’t tell you now much she has been on my mind this week. I do wish I had had an opportunity to visit her in person. Had I visited, I know I would have gotten the sense of the gravity of her illness. I’m full of prayer for my friend and at peace that she didn’t have an extended time of suffering. For your comment: What would you say to your friend if you knew you wouldn’t see him or her again?
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest – Natural White – Cover – 80lb smooth, Gold Poster Board
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Charcoal
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur De Square, Spellbinders Arched Swallowtail Pennants, Silk Ribbon – The Paper Source, Recollection Pearls, button from my stash
Thanks for stopping by friends. Since my desk is full and I hope to back and soon!!
Beautiful card Becca – very ELEGANT!
Actually an easy question for me to answer – I would tell my treasured friend that ‘I LOVE YOU’! Simple statement, but I know we do not say it enough to those we care about. If I could see the person face to face, I would add a great big HUG! Hugs have meant a lot to me in the recent home going of my husband….even people who could not utter a word to me said it all in a hug to show they cared.
Paper Hugs…real ones too if I could come across the miles Becca!
Jan Castle
Hi Jan,
Sorry for your recent loss. Sending you prayesr & hugs across the miles.
xox
Thank you so much Noelene…what a pretty name!!
You mean the world to me!
Wish I could post my comment but I didn’t see how ? I would say to my friend I love you I would make her a card and give it to her . The card would show just what she means to me.
I would tell her how much she and her friendship means to me and that she is loved.
Becca: I think you are long overdue to make another Becca bit about your bows. This bow is amazing with the middle loop larger than the outer loops-how did you do that?. I have your bow maker and my bows don’t look like that. Please, please, please! I love your bows and they are such a focal point to your cards.
I would sit with my friend and tell him/her that I love you and I will hug him/her and tell them I don’t want to let go. If you get to heaven before I do, make a little hole and pull me through!!! ??
If I could see them in person, in this life- I would tell my friend, “I love you!” And then ask them how is their relationship with God. Knowing we are loved by God, and loved by our family and friends are the most important things in life.
I love your card. This one is such a beauty!
Becca, I would tell my friend that I have been thinking a lot about her; that she is such a beautiful person, that she is missed, that you feel such close bonds.
What wonderful friendships we can have with so many. You can think those things now about your friend and I think she will feel your love.
After caring for four family members during terminal illnesses and having lost so many family members and friends of various ages over the years, I’ve learned to make each good-bye like it may be the last. There is no time like the present to let our loved ones know how we feel! So sorry, Becca, for the loss of your friend. You are such a thoughtful caring person, I am sure your friend knew how you felt.
It’s so hard to let go. I would tell my friend that they mean the world to me. That I will miss them but will remember the good times we have spent together.
Beautiful, elegant card, Becca. Thank you for the inspiration.
I’m so sorry you lost a dear friend this week. Even though you weren’t able to…say goodbye?…to her as you’d like to have done, I think she must have been happy to know you were out there living your life to the fullest, fulfilling God’s plan for your life. That’s what all of us want for our friends, after all.
Becca, this card is just gorgeous. I so enjoy seeing your work on display.
Thank you for sharing.
Do you mean, “WOULDN’T see him or her again?” LOL I have a friend that I haven’t seen in years! And when I saw her last, I didn’t know that was the last time in seeing her for many years…. I would treat each time as being the LAST TIME! ;) Letting that friend know I loved them & they were cherished! We eagerly await the time we can meet up again! ;)
I really would tell my friend how much I miss her , care for her amd love her.
A good friend of my husbands passed a week ago after repeated surgeries on his intestines. It was tragic because his mind was 100% there. We knew he had no hope but it was sad. I knew him for close to 20 years. A little crazy, but a good man with a good heart, and very happy. It’s not so much what I/we would have said, but I wish we would have visited him more when he was hopping around to the many hospitals he was in. Hospitals can be so boring. I feel really bad we didn’t go see him more often than we did the past 5 months.
Gorgeous card! I would tell my friend how much I love her, and how much I enjoy our time together. I’m sorry for your loss.
Another stunning card! I think a big hug with a smile says more than words and I did just that yesterday to a ninety year old following his wife’s funeral. I doubt I will see him alive again because he lives so far away but I will keep my promise to ring him.
Hi Becca. Great card as always and love the look of your new die. As for your friend I am sure she knew what you would have said had you been able to see her. Don’t beat yourself up over it I say. True friends know what you are thinking before you do almost I find!
So very sorry for your heart-breaking circumstances, Becca. Hopefully my answer will not seem too simple for such a serious question. My first thought is to say, “I love you.” Even more, I would want to say, “Thank you.” I think love is clearly understood between close friends, but there are innumerable things to be thankful for: forgiveness, openness, wisdom, patience, laughter, and shared experiences no one else truly understands.
It goes without saying that the card is beautiful and one I could try easily.
A good friendship is based on years, not days. The lifetime of friendship that you had does not get passed over because of a few days/months that you were busy. And a true friend realizes that. What they want most when they are on a short timeline is to be treated normally. Many don’t want those “last time” conversations; they want death to be as normal as their life was. So don’t feel badly. If she wanted something other than that, she would have reached out. What you do for a friend all the time is much more important than what you didn’t do one time. Give yourself a pass on that one.
Oh goodness. I hope I would be able to say” I wish you enough”. Surely you have read the story behind that statement. If not do look it up.
Another great card as always. I would tell my friend how much I enjoyed knowing her and thank her for encouraging me with my crafts, and sending her love. Christine S.
I would tell him or her how much I appreciated our friendship. love today’s card. simple yet elegant.
Your card today is so elegant. I like your new die and enjoyed seeing the video and how to use it. Lovely. I’m looking forward to more of your lastest dies to come out and how to use them. So sorry for the loss of you dear friend. If I was not to see a friend again, I would hope I would be able to express in words how much our friendship meant to me. Sometimes there are no words.
Beautiful card, fabulous sentiment. I’d tell my friend ‘I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for always being there for me. Your friendship has meant the world to me. X’
1st thing is I would tell them is that I loved them. If they knew the Lord, I’d tell them this isn’t good-bye – that I would see them again in heaven. I’d also give them a hug and let them know how much I appreciated their friendship.
Sorry, Becca, so sorry for about the loss of your friend. Hope that you will frequently savour all the happy memories you cherish. X
Dear Becca,
I first want to extend my condolences for the loss of your friend – my heart goes out to you. It’s a shock to receive news like this. When you think of her with the love and appreciation you have for her, that communication transcends the boundaries of time and space. Love never dies.
Having this experience is a reminder to let our loved ones know how much they mean to us every chance we get. It’s an illusion that we ever know how much time we have with others.Communicating love and gratitude to the people in your live is something you do sooooo well!
Watching the video on your new dies made me excited to see all your new creations. I loved, loved, loved the re-positioning of the rectangular dies for custom applications. In your characteristic style, the possibilities are endless!
Love & blessings dear Becca,
Sandy
We all know how you feel because we have all experienced this situation. My favorite expression is ” You are in my thoughts and prayers”—simple,. But full of meaning. Also,. “I love you” and “You are special” are always appropriate. I know will love your new designs!
Good morning Becca, your cards just take my breath away!!!
I’m so sorry for your loss.
There is nothing I would like to say to my friends when they’re not here because I say it to them on the phone, face to face in a letter on a card,
When you lose a loved one it makes you realise how precious life is,it only takes a second to change your entire life.
Live each moment as if it’s your last. Life is what you make it and friends make it better!!!
Have a good one!!!
Loopy Lyndaxxx
I love your gold/white cards. Always so elegant. What I would tell my friend is that the world is a better place because of that friend. So sorry for your loss.
Such a beautiful card Becca, love the white and gold and that bow is just another Becca special! W would say to my friend “I love you and thank you for being such a special friend and give her a hug”
Hi Becca,
|Such a wonderful and fun card (easy peasy) today. Happy St. Patty’s Day! One of the new dies that is on my list.
I would tell my friend that I loved him or her and would see them again one day! Meaning of course, in heaven! This happened to me just a couple of weeks ago. I met this fellow in the post office and as his had was bandaged, I asked what happened. Said he had a skin cancer removed and went on telling me the whole story. Said they wanted to cut some more on him but didn’t think he was going to do it. Within 2 weeks he was gone, So Sad!! Only in his early 60’s.
Hope you have a great weekend and slow down just a little and smell the roses, girlfriend.
HUGS
Ann R.
Becca your card is just lovely and do like the gold you do.
If I was saying to a friend that I wasn’t going to see again I would let them know what their friendship meant to me and to tell them I love them.
Hugs Trish.
That one is super easy for me to answer.
What I would say: I Love You.

This card is so gorgeous! I love the Gold.
First of all, I wanted to tell you how thrilled I was to win one of your beautiful cards last month. I haven’t received it yet but I patiently wait as I know you are always so busy and I don’t want you to feel rushed at all. What a wonderful blessing you are to so many. Now , as for the question of what to tell someone you will never see again here in this present earth …… I have been faced with this situation quite a few times in my life. Always, I felt uncomfortable to admit to them that they were dying and because of this I didn’t address the most important issue at hand…. Have You Accepted Jesus as Your Savior ? Now, I have matured enough to know that this is the last chance they might have to hear about God’s promise and the fact that He said , there is only one way to The Father, Jesus. When my mom was dying I knew she was saved and only her body was lingering. As she was breathing her last breaths, I held her hand and told her it was okay to let go …. we would miss her but it was okay, we would be alright . I believe she passed away peacefully and that she is at rest now. I look forward to seeing her again someday. I believe if we have a chance in life to spread God’s Word and we don’t, we are making a big mistake. I look at death differently now and I look at this short time on this earth differently. This earthly life is short and will soon be over, even a hundred years that you might have goes by so fast. I pray with all my heart that anyone reading this , if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your personal savior, please , please, do so now. God bless…Denice with a ” c”.
Hi Becca, This card is so pretty, and it just goes to prove that you don’t have to take days (like me) to make a pretty card.
Enjoy your weekend, I’m off to a craft show tomorrow, can’t wait.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Oh, another beautiful card, Becca. I would simply say to my friend – I love you and I’m so blessed we have our friendship.
I would say I love you. Thank you for being in my life.
Hi Becca,
I always love your cards with gold & white. Always gorgeous!
I only discovered your new collection last week. I definitely have them on my wish list.
My condolences on the loss of your friend. Don’t feel bad about not getting to see her.We are all guilty of letting life get in the way. I am sure she knew how much of a busy lady you were & would not want you to feel bad about not seeing her, but rather remember the good times you shared together instead.
The answer to your question is, I probably wouldn’t say much but that I loved them & give a huge hug. That is what I did with my grandmother that I visited many years ago overseas. I was blessed to meet her twice & never knew if I would see her again when we left. Sadly I wasn’t blessed with all the wonderful technology of today to be able to keep in regular contact like skype.
Take care, Sending hugs & prayers.
Have a lovely weekend x
Hi Becca,
Love your cards, the gold and white is so gorgeous, luxurious and with that stunning bow so elegant.
What would I say to a friend – I would tell them I loved them as I always do and hug them.
Di.
What a beautiful elegant card and something I can duplicate. Thank you for sharing your creations and thoughts. I’ve had several bfs pass away and while spending my last times with them I thanked them for all the love, time and adventures we shared. I cherished the memories that the Lord allowed us and surely this wasn’t the last time we’d meet. We don’t need modern technology to keep in touch…a simple hand made card is a perfect tangible message of love.
Wow! This really is another one of your stunning creations Becca! Thank you for sharing it with us. So sorry about the loss of your friend. I experienced something similar when my mom died suddenly. I was so busy on the last Saturday I spoke to her that I didn’t take the time to really appreciate her call. I never knew it would be the last conversation we’d have on earth. Wish I’d had one more chance to tell her how much I loved and appreciated her. Yet I have hope because she knew and loved the Lord, and therefore I know that we’ll meet again. Thanks for reminding us to treasure our loved ones while we have them. :)
I am so blessed by my friends! I would certainly thank them for all the laughter, support and love over the years and for loving me as I am! What a beautiful card and sentiment, thank you for the inspiration.
Regal, glorious and elegant and so Becca.
As always a beautiful card. Sorry for your loss, As to your question I have been in a similar situation several times and one of my friends was on limited time when I first met her so each time I saw her i would leave her with a big gentle hug and kiss and tell her I loved her, she lasted nearly 21/2 years after we first met and I just wish I had known her longer. It’s always hard when we don’t get the chance to say goodbye but we know in our hearts they are now at peace in Gods care.
Beautiful card! Just love how elegant your cards are. Happy St. Patty’s Day! :)
~Gin K.~
Elegant card! Love it!
That’s a tough one to find words for. I’m not sure what I’d say.
Hi Becca. Beautiful gold and white card with a stunning bow. Must try this for sure.
Sorry for your loss. Xx
I’m so glad we’re friends. You are so special to me…I wish I had told you before you were gone…I didn’t know you were going to leave us.
I would tell my friend how much they meant to me and reminisce about the good times we’ve shared. Hugs to you!
Hi Becca
It is so hard to lose a loved one and no matter how much we have loved, cared for or supported them, we seem to have a sense of guilt that we haven’t done enough or been there for them at their point of need. Your candid post has touched a nerve and I’m sure that your gentle reminder will bear fruit amongst your followers. Thank you so much for sharing – a difficult thing when carrying a burden of loss. I pray that you will find peace. After reading your post I will try to make sure that in future I don’t part from family or friends without saying something loving and uplifting. Our Church house group is following the 40 acts of kindness during Lent and there have been several nudges about appreciating others and showing that appreciation. I will try to do better.
Your card is stunning! Ivory and gold make such an elegant combination.
Hugs
Anne (UK) x
I was so lucky to have had the chance to speak my heart to a very close friend the night before she passed. She was in a morphine haze and had not been awake or speaking for several days. I thanked her and the Father for coming in to my life. We had gone to the same church and had broken in to small groups that met at peoples’ homes. She was in another group, along with her husband. Something told them to switch groups. That was the beginning of a new and very special relationship. When I told her how thankful I was that they switched groups and that I consider that one of the best days of my life, she moved her arms and I believe she tried to say something. I am so glad that I was moved to visit that day.
Hi lovely lady so sorry for your loss , but I am sure your friend knew how
much you loved her and cared about her ,,,,,,
I love this card the white and gold yummy and the sentiment is

Just in case I dont get another chance it means a lot to me love

What a gorgeous card. Becca, please share how you do your bows. They are always so beautiful and mine never look like yours.
I would tell my friend, “I love you… and remember we will be together again one day… with a new body and no aches and pains.”
Blessings,
Judy
I love this card and the sentiment. I would tell them that they are loved and will be greatly missed but i will miss them the most because they mean so much to me
Beeeauuutifulllllll! Love this card. I wanna win it! Now, the comment prompt is a tough one. Very thought provoking. As I think of each special friend, I would tell each one – ” Keep the Faith ” and ” I love you.”
I’d say, “See you in heaven”.
Fabulous card. Love it.
Dear sweet Becca….I am so sorry for your loss. May your memories of your dear friend comfort you. I would tell my friend how much I loved them and reminisce on our adventures and even just the simple things in life that we shared. I would thank God for bringing us together and that through his Grace, we will be together again! Thank you for another beautiful card and the gentle reminder to appreciate those who are dear to us.
Dear Becca – I’m so sorry for your loss. Sudden losses often carry a sense of guilt that perhaps we should have seen it coming, or done something, or helped somehow. But we can’t always do these things. Here’s prayers for you that you find a sense of peace that your friendship with your friend over time brought her comfort in the end.
I would tell them thank you. For the joy they brought in to my world and for taking the time to be with and believe in me. Beautiful card Becca
Awesome card, think could make that one fir sure, thanks for makin an easy card! I lost a dear friend almost 5 yrs ago, I was lucky I got to see and talk with her, but her last day she was in a fetal position and I still talked to her, yet she could say anything, I think bout her a lot…don’t best yourself up over this. Paper hugs
What a beautiful card today and the sentiment means a lot to us all in reminding us that friendships are so very special.
Ive been lucky that I haven’t lost close friends yet but I held my precious son in my arms during the night before he slipped away from us. What did I say? Just gentle words telling him how much he meant to us and that one day we would meet beyond the blue at the edge of the sky. He was a good person. My son and my friend.
Beautiful card Becca, the gold really pops.
Re my friend who is my chosen Sister – I would tell her how much I loved her and that it has been a blessing and a privilege to have her in my life for nearly 40 years. Becca I have tears in my eyes just thinking of a time that she would no longer be in my life x x x
What a beautiful card. I would tell them how much I loved her and how grateful and blessed I was to have had their friendship.
Hello Becca,
It’s a beautiful card today because the dies are gorgeous.
You have my sincere condolences on the passing of your friend, and you must try to have some time for yourself. I know it’s difficult as this is your business but life goes by so fast.
I see my friends once a fortnight, different friends on different days, and when leaving I always kiss, hug and tell them that they mean a lot to me. One of my friends I’ve known since 1958 when we worked together and we have gone through life together, she’s extra special and I make sure she knows it.
Maureen xx
This is so ELEGANT! Absolutely gorgeous!
A beautiful and elegant card today, Becca. The bow is lovely and really finishes your card.
I would tell a friend how blessed I was to be their friend and that I love them. I would tell them that I will cherish our memories and will not forget the friendship we shared. I would also try to share a memory that would bring a smile to both of our hearts. I would also share the love of JESUS with them and encourage them to be sure their heart was right with God
Beautiful card! Sorry for your loss, I would stop and reflect on memories and our friendship, and try to leave things on a positive note.
That is one sweet card with one die, yes plus the tag for the sentiment LOL
what an absolutely gorgeous card again. I always come back here to be inspired into the beautiful!!
Sooo sorry for your loss Becca. I actually had a very dear friend passing from terminal illness here back in January, and even we all knew, she was sick, we had no idea, it was this close. She spent Christmas eve and New Years Eve til late with her entire familky and tuesday evening the 2nd she went in peace. I´ve known her in almost 40 years since our very first youth, and we had our kids together and she and her husbond visited us here sunday before christmas, and she seemed better than ever, so it was a chock, and I know exactly how you feel, as I´ve been through it all myself here lately and kept asking, if I could´ve done more. But we often talked about her illness, and I told her directly,. that I jnew I couldn´t say or do anything, that would make things easier or better, but she should know, I would be there for her at any time of the day or night, if she needed me to talk to, and that I loved her dearly and would miss her terribly, when it was time, and we became really good huggers, that´s for sure. We always gave a hug, both when we met and when we left, every single time.
But at least none of our friends are in anymore pains now, and that comforts me a little.
Your card is as always very very beautiful Becca and I love your gorgeous work.
Such a beautiful card! I am sorry about your friend. I think we all need to be reminded how precious time is.
Another beautiful one, lady! I’d tell my friend how much their friendship has meant to me. I’d thank them for being such a godsend in my life, and how their presence had impacted my life. Then we would reminisce about some good times we had shared. Laughing together is always good. A person’s laugh is something I’ve always cherished. I wish I had recordings of those closest I’ve lost.
So sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Please remember all the blessings of having her in your life, rather than your dismay.
We are dealing with knowing my hubby’s time here on earth is very limited, Knowing we are in others prayers is the very best blessing of all. Please let her loved ones hear from you with a special moment the two of you shared, for their hurting hearts (and yours).
And to answer your thought…how about ‘see you with our Lord’, hugs
With much respect and enjoyment of your creations,
a fan,
Cheri
Beautiful card and sentiment. May I offer you my condolences for the loss of your friend. I would say, “thank you” for being in my life, for allowing me to be in your life and for all the fabulous memories that I would cherish forever.
This tradegy did happen to me as I lost my teacher friend of 40 years. She was told that she had 4 weeks to live and I visited her everyday as she grew weaker and weaker. I told her that she would always be in my heart . I shared with her that she was my role model in life regarding how to treat one another. She was an inspiration to everyone that she encountered. I was so blessed to have her in my life and if I encounter a bad situation I always think what would Marj would say and do. I feel that she still guides me throughout the time I have on earth.
I would tell them how much i love them and that i will miss thhem every day
Love the card Becca thank you for your inspiration
Paper hugs Ang fromGB xx
Becca, being an older person myself I always hug a person and tell them I love them. I never know when it may be my last time to see them and I just want them to know I care and love them. Your friend knew you loved her and memories are a precious thing. She is sending you love from above.
So sorry for your loss. But I never truly like to say goodbye I say we will meet again . Our paths will cross God knows the plan we meet before we will meet again. I made this quote up along time ago and I truly believe in it.
