My goodness, I can’t believe that another week has gone by! I’ve put it off way too long, so I’m reorganizing my craft room and destashing. I’ve come across so many treasures and been inspired at the same time. I think the last straw was I went in the cabinet to look for something and it made me crazy that things were falling over and I couldn’t find anything. One thing led to another :-) My triumph this week is the 12 foot countertop that hasn’t seen the light of day for over a year, is finally clear! My goal is just to clear up the stacks, I want to walk into a tidy room every morning so I still have a bit of clearing to do… It’s a labor of love, I find such clarity when I’m cleaning!
Today is Friday, so that means Day of Giving Friday. I’m happy to say that all prizes to date have been sent (finally). The card shown above is up for grabs by a reader today, simply leave a comment and one name will be picked from the comments. For more information about Day of Giving, on the Features menu above select FAQ’s and scroll down to number 11.
I belong to a group of women who have been getting together every month for the past 14 years to craft. It’s always a highlight when I get to go but it ends up being purely a social occasion; I can’t say I get much done, but sure enjoy the company. When I need to get something done, I dissappear to the depths of ‘my room’ – I’ll admit, I’m an alone crafter. That leads to my question for you today . . .
For today’s comment – How about you, do you craft best in a group or are you the picture of focus and craft alone?
Rubber Stamps: Retired
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White, Coredinations
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Captivating Squares, Spellbinders Back to Basic Tags, Prima Flower, JBH Button, Recollections Pearls, May Arts Silk Ribbon
Hugs friends, I know I’ve been scarce but I know you know how getting a room tidied up is one rabbit hole after another! I’ll see you soon!
I’m in between . . . I craft best when I have just one or two other folks there to work alongside. It’s great to be able to bounce ideas off each other. Any more than 2 folks, and we just end up visiting, and not getting much crafting done ;)
Beautiful card but, what??? No pink???? Tee Hee Love how you kept it elegantly simple yet so feminine.
I, too, am a solo crafter. I find that if I work with a group, I talk too much or end up teaching. Besides, I never can pack for a crop.
Trying to clean up my room also. Can never find what I want.
Dixie
Gorgeous card! nI craft better alone.
Love your card, Becca. I enjoy crafting alone. I get too distracted by people and noise, so I guess you could say I’m a lone wolf.
I’m definitely an alone crafter when I need to get a lot done in one crafting session. I enjoy the company of friends, but, like you, I do more socializing than card Making! LOVE your card today. So gorgeous, Becca! Thx for sharing with all of us!
Blessings, Pat
Who wouldn’t have a smile on their face receiving this? My mom has been having some health issues and it’s been stressful for all of us. I can only imagine how scared she is sometimes. It’s sad, but as I get older, I am sending more “Get Well” cards than I ever imagined.
One pertinent question: How is it that you Know which stack contains the item you need but Don’t Know where you put it when the room is clean?
I’ve given up and let chaos fuel my creative process…..definitely solo. Too much socializing and nearly no work accomplished when friends are present.
Hi Becca. Love your gorgeous card with the beautiful colours. I too am a solo crafter – preferring to do my own thing in my own time with a little background music!! Hugs xxx
Beautiful card! I can’t believe your room needed to be organized! You are the epitome of organization! But, I know how quickly things get out of hand in a craft room! I prefer to be alone with music (country, 60s oldies, Motown, and piano) when I create. I love Pandora as I don’t have to change CDs all the time now, if I can only quit losing my wifi signal!
How beautiful. The purple really pops. I like to work on my own. Having just moved I swore to myself that I’d keep my desk clean after every project. It’s been two months and it’s still clean. It really isn’t hard to do. Good luck
What a beautiful card. I usually craft alone because I don’t belong to any craft groups. However once in great while if we have a special event a group of us might get together to make favors or centerpieces.
Hi Becca,
What a beatiful card! I have to admit having a hubby who works from home & a noisy household of kids lol I am an alone crafter. As much as I like to socialise I enjoy the peace & tranquility of crafting alone.
Have a wonderful weekend x
What a beautiful card Becca!!! I really enjoy going to stamp camps every once in a while. However, I love to make my cards when it’s just me and my crafting goodies! Have a beautiful day!
Beautiful card, I like to craft alone but I also like crafting with others to get more
Ideas and a different perspective on my projects.
Hi Becca
I wish I had cleaned my craftroom. It always messy and to small.
I craft best when I am alone. I talk to much and love to admiral what others are doing.
Have a nice weekend
Hugs Kira
Gorgeous card, as always, Becca. I find I never get anything done when we meet as a craft group. Everyone has so much talking to do, including me!! I only manage to get on with things when I’m on my own
Doreen R from Bournemouth UK
Oh Becca what a lovely card and like your colors. I know what you mean to have to clean your craft space I get it all clean and start crafting again and end up in the same mess. When I craft with some friends I find I don’t get much done, only if I have got all the parts together for my cards then all I need to asamble them,if not I don’t get much done or I end up teaching some thing. This is another subject a bought a Tool’N’One and loved it then the bristles started coming out now they have all come out , has anyone have this happen to them, I have e-mailed Spellbinders about this but no reply so far.
I am definitely a lone crafter! I enjoy visiting too much!! Another beautiful card today. Thanks for the chance to win!
Good for you Becca! It’s tough to keep crafting stuff inline and I find it’s very distracting to have my stuff disorganized when I craft so I’m sad to say I probably spend more time tidying my craft room than actually crafting….I guess that’s why I wind up card making/sewing/scrapbooking on the dinner table! A Plus is that I get some exercise running back up the stairs to use the big shot! Haha. I craft a lot at home with my playlist on my sound dock but I have to say I prefer group crafting cause then I get to socialize as I don’t get to do that much.
Have a wonderful day!
Great minds think alike! I’ve been doing some re-organizing this morning, as well. I can let it go so long before it starts cutting off my creativity! LOL
I like stamping by myself. When I go to stamping weekends or with others, I get so overwhelmed and want to do it ALL!!!! Invigorating…yes, lots of ideas to try…yes; I need to walk away and refocus! Enough about me!
I love the Get Well card because it shows me yet another way to use my larger silk flowers. You continue to inspire!
I am like you. Just me, my craftroom and my inspiration ( this one, not like yours but you know what I mean). Your card is incredible, I love the color combination. I have done some cards using it. Enjoy your long weekend!
More than one way to send a flower to someone that is not feeling well. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
For paper crafting, I get more done by myself. I enjoy the card making group at my church, the socializing and seeing others’ creativity. But, when I want to really get things done, by myself is best.
Knitting, however, is much more social for me. I can talk and knit just fine!
Gorgeous card today Becca. I love to take a class to learn new techniques but I never really get anything finished as I do find it a social time for me. I love to get in my craft room and create by myself. I find it so relaxing and an escape from reality.
Now that question is easy. I do my best crafting when I’m alone. That way I can leisurely go through my stash and take my time deciding what I want to do or use. It gets my creative juices flowing and at the same time I find it so relaxing and so rejuvenating.
I do best crafting alone. With people around – there’s distractions by conversation, questions, borrowing supplies, etc.
I like to have quiet – where I can concentrate and think about what I’m doing. I can make a flash decision to change something.
Also don’t like a lot of suggestions from others – I want this to be my creation.
I was an only-child so I guess I’m geared to think in quiet.
Love the card. The purples are so pretty. The layering is beautiful.
I’m going through a tooth infection so this get-well card would be wonderful to receive.
thanks
Lovely card Becca….have just had a massive sort out too so feeling accomplished. I like to play craft with others but prefer to do serious crafting by myself….no one else sees the mistakes then lol xxx
OH WOW, BECCA!!! WHAT A GORGEOUS CARD! It looks like the flower has just SPROUTED out of the paper!!! JUST GORGEOUS! AND PURPLE TOO!!!! ;)
I am an “alone crafter,” mostly because there is no one around to craft with. We live in a rural area….Thank goodness, I don’t NEED someone to craft with. LOL I’d NEVER get a thing done! ;)
Beautiful, so beautiful that if I received this card, when I was sick, it would make me feel so much better. I too am a loner card maker I do have a friend that comes to play in my craft room, periodically, but we get more visiting that scraping.
Wow, what a beautiful card Becca.
I love to craft alone.
Good morning Becca, another beautiful card!!!
I don’t mind either. I can craft in a group I like the social aspect or on my own with the peace and quiet!!!
Good luck everyone!!!
Have a good one!!!
Loopy Lynda xxx
Good Morning Becca. I absolutely love the purple and white with all its layers and ribbons. The corner die cuts really help set each layer distinctly. For you question, I would have to say I do both. I have a group at a lss that plays together and tries out new crafting techniques. I find this a great way to spark creativity and feed upon other people’s enthusiasm. A best friend and I get together once a month to craft and I find that another avenue. And then, there are the late night sessions when I’m alone in my craft room working out the problems I have with this or that. I don’t prefer one way over another, just whatever fits with my mood and my social schedule at any given time!
Love this card. The color is beautiful in the different shades of purples. I love that your cards are more simple in the construction. Thank you for your inspirations.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this card. It is my colors and certainly one that I will try to do. I just purchased the Spellbinders Captivating Squares and I have all of your dies so I should be able to do this. I, too, am in a group of ladies that we get together once a month to craft. Since they are mostly scrapbookers it has helped me to get some scrapbook pages done. When I do card making the best is when I am on my own in my room. Tuesday is our time to get together and at this moment you can not see the tables we use, so it appears that cleaning will need to start soon. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Becca, the card is lovely and my favorite colors. I love getting together with my craft buddies/friends but I produce more when I am alone!
I have missed seeing your gorgeous cards but sure understand your needing to destash and reorganize. That is something I really need to do — and soon!!
I love the colors in this card !!
Crafting with friends is always a wonderful time – but i do get more accomplished when alone.
My group of 5 gals is just to much fun to focus on our cards ,we are lucky if we make one card each. We get together each Tuesday and the girlfriend chatter starts even before we sit down (: We share all the cards we made during the week and all the new “stuff” we bought! Of course we LOVE your new Spellbinders dies and although we try to buy different dies to share, not yours, we all just had to buy them so we could play with them whenever we wanted. so the answer to this weeks question, I get a lot more done at home alone using your cards and blog as my inspiration. I love this weeks card PICK ME :)
Love all the shades of purple in today’s card… it’s the second best color after pink I do believe!! I too do my best work alone, even though I do enjoy those days when I get together with the girls. As far as keeping my craft room tidy… it’s a must with my OCD. I can’t stand to see mess… it will drive me crazy !! Thanks for all you do and share with the crafting world Becca !!
Gorgeous card in my favourite colour!! I craft alone when I’m card making because none of my friends papercraft. However, I am in a group of WI friends who craft together weekly and we do various things eg, patchwork, crochet etc. It is lovely when you can teach somebody else a skill they don’t have, and then you can also learn a new craft. Although so far we haven’t done anything new to me … lol! Still, the company is great – not to mention the chatter and tea and cakes!! Hugs Christine xx
Gorgeous card & I so love the purples! I just happen to have those dies & will have to (try) to re-create…
I too am an alone crafter…
I should go clean up my craftroom too!!!
This is absolutely gorgeous, Becca! I love purple, and every shade of it, and what a wonderful way to showcase a pretty flower. I have tried doing group card-making and stamping. I am pretty much your introvert and self-conscious about my work on top of it all, so I do better in my own little corner.
Good morning, first I wish to comment on today’s card. It is a stunning vision in shades of lavender. Happy colors for me. Love that purple! Beaucoup of layers and embelishments here all perfectly created and formed to make this amazing card. You have again inspired me. Now to today’s question. I, too, get together with ladys for a crafting session. I started going so I could learn some techniques. Not having received much formal education in art but years and years of music, I felt I needed to expand my knowledge. I also felt a need to learn techniques to help me in my card making. I always enjoyed “playing” with my crayons, oil paints, and especially water colors and could spend hours doing so. Besides learning some techniques in these sessions, what I found in meeting with these ladys, is the tremendous amount of talent in the group, and the wonderful camaraderie I have received with them which I so desperately need at this time in my life. I come away from these meetings feeling fulfilled and giddy. Having said that, I craft best by myself among my papers, glues, dies and embossing folders, and embellishments, etc. When I craft at home, I stay focused and rarely even have music playing in the back ground. Seems I focus better in solitude when I craft. Congratulations on getting your room orgainzed. I envy your dedication to do so. I am still in the “I would rather create than clean up”! Like you, if I would do a good clean up, I would find treasures that have become buried in my stashes! lol. Please note I said stashES. Wishing all a wonderful weekend. Stay safe.
Becca, your card is gorgeous and in my favorite color. I do my best stamping alone. A friend and I try to get together once a week for a card making session but it usually ends up a gab fest so not much stamping occurs.
Your card is so thoughtful and full of the promise of someone caring. I hope I am fortunate enough to receive this piece of beauty, not to be hoarded, but sent out to someone I am thinking of who just got some bad news after a round of chemotherapy. The promise of someone caring could be helpful, even if it brings a smile to my friend, for just a moment, at a really challenging time. Thank you for the possibility!
Yes, Becca, I’m with you. I do get together with family members at times to do crafts, but I find I focus best when alone. You are right when you say it turns out to be a social “hour”, but certainly lots of fun and something to look forward to. Love your card, but am wondering what the circle die is called. I envy that you are “cleaning out” which is something I sure need to do. Hate to see things pile up. You are an inspiration!
Such a pretty card and lovely colours.
I too am organising my crafting goodies as my husband has put up some new IKEA cubes which I am slowly filling with my left arm and hand. This could take a while one-handed! Hope your progress is much swifter than mine, Becca!
I certainly accomplish more when I craft alone as in a group, I seem to be constantly off looking for things for everyone else. Not that I mind, but I tend to achieve very little when in a group!
Hugs
Anne (UK) x
Another stunning card Becca! Love all the layering and, above all, all the shades of purple, always my go-to colors. I’m definitely an “alone crafter.” I don’t do well in a group, that’s why I rarely attend crops and/or stamping parties. I do have a friend that comes over weekly when our schedules permit, mostly because she “needs” to have some girly time away from her husband.
I really enjoy the socializing in group settings but if I want to get something done I craft on my own. Time and again I have packed up my supplies only to get nothing accomplished when I craft with my friends!
Gorgeous card as always…someday I would like to have one of your creations!!!
I am inspired by this beautiful card, I will need a card of condolence very soon, thank you Becca.
I too am an alone crafter, I enjoy the creative process that takes place when I am alone in my workshop, beautiful things seem to materialize.
I stamp with a group one evening a month and we have an absolute fantastic time .we do three cards in 4 hours and of course talk and eat to no end.But I have to say,my creative side comes out when I am alone in my craft room.I LOVE my room, have everything organized to my liking and can make a card in a few minutes,or at times can take hours. What ever I am in the mood for!
I love my weekly craft group, but to be truthful, I get the most done and am most creative when I craft alone. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful cards and things, Becca.
Hi Becca! It does feel good to reorganize a crafty space and start fresh every time. It must have been a breath of fresh air to see your big 12 foot counter top again!
I am fortunate to craft with several ladies. We meet monthly and sometimes in between. It is a good excuse to get together and have fun while doing what we love. Some meetings I get a lot done and I shock myself by doing so. Sometimes the get togethers result in not as much done but I don’t mind at all! Playing with paper and hanging out with friends is a great time.
Have a good weekend, Becca!
I love your flower card. I was just out in my garden this morning and realized purple is a dominant color! I sometimes get together with one or two of my friends, but since I am usually on the fly, I rarely have anything prepared. I do best alone, sort thru my stuff and until something catches my eye. Happy Labor Day
Lovely card as always Becca. I craft alone most but I do go to a card making group one a fortnight where everything is done by hand! Dies are a nono there and a craft group once a month which is good for trying new crafts as it gives you a taster for something new. Glad your tidy up is going well. It will be worth all your efforts I am sure. We’ve just decorated the kitchen so its been chaos here but today normal service has resumed and it looks so much better than before. It was a light green colour on the walls but now it’s a soft coffee colour which I like! I never can envisage quite what it will look like in my minds eye before its on the walls despite doing a tester patch. TFS.
I think I craft best alone. I take my time and don’t feel pressured to complete my project in a certain amount of time. Thanks for offering today’s beautiful card. They are all so gorgeous! You are such a gifted artist!
Thank you for another chance to win one of your beautiful creations!
I am very much an “alone” crafter. When I do attend group crafting I find it much more difficult to get anything done. :-)
Have a blessed Labor Day Weekend!
Beautiful card. Love those corners.
I craft best alone. I think it’s because when I get together with the others they always need help so I don’t get much done. But, I love teaching them because they get so excited and they are so appreciative.
I’m glad you’re getting some space cleared up. There’s nothing like walking into a clean craft space. It feels good. It really does.
Becca, your card is gorgeous!! I think I could tell your cards even without your name on them, they are beautiful works of art. I tend to get more done when I craft with my friends then when I’m alone.
Stunning card! Love the colors and layers. I have a friend I craft with, or should I say talk, talk, talk, with :). We never get anything done. I do best when alone.
Beautiful card–purple is my favorite color.
I do craft at times with friends, but I find I am much more productive on my own.
Another wonderful card today Becca. Your consistency amazes me!
I prefer to craft alone as I am inclined to chatter too otherwise!
What a beautiful card today, Becca!
I too craft best on my own. I love to meet other crafting friends, but coming together with them I talk more than I craft ;))
Best in a group! I actually gather up my stuff and take it along for a project, rather than getting sidetracked at home by myself!
Regarding your this week’s “rabbit hole venture” Lewis Carroll might add “Begin at the beginning and go till you come to the end. Then stop.”
I generally craft alone (if you consider ice cream, tea, Pandora, or chocolate chip cookies as “being alone”). I generally experience and enjoy the community of a group when I take classes.
I like to craft alone with no distractions or talking. I love the colors you used on this card. Very beautiful. The one good thing about having to look for some thing in your hundreds of craft drawer and boxes is it helps you to remember what you have.
I am a loner for scrapping. I have one dear friend who I will start making cards with in about a month.
Becca, I love when you here with us, but I also know that you have a life.
God bless.
I do best crafting alone, but crafting as a group can give you different ideas and is more fun. Christine Springman.
Hi there Becca,
Such a plesant view to look inhere today and see this amazing and soooo beautiful card here. You´ve just as usual made such a gorgeous piece of art.
About crafting I must admi9t, that I´m exactly like you. I love to go to gatherings, but it´s more for the sociale part of it and getting inspiration and new ideas, as I very rare get anything done. I first get the work done, when I´m sitting in my craftbarn all by my self with just the radio on to keep me compagny. But then I can also get lost for hours and almost days in my own little paperworld he he.
And guess what is just moved in here with me today? It´s my birthday here very soon, and this week-end my craftstore also celebrates their birthday, so hubby took me there to do some great shopping, and guess what? She had just yesterdauy got home for me, all the way from the US?? Yep it´s 4 packs of your amazing dies, so now I´ve finally got my hands on both Swirl Bliss packs and both Arched Elegance packs too, so now I can finally get to play with those amazing boxes and cards you shared with us a loooong time ago. I totally fell in love with those, but noone here had your dies, but now she had taken these home just for me, so I´m a very happy bunny here today ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful week-end everyone and lots of crafty fun. I know, I will for sure.
The short answer is “alone” but that can happen by myself or in a group at a crop. I just have to be “in the zone”. Can I say that I would love, love, love to fall into one or more of your rabbit holes! What fun and inspiration that would be. Hugs.
Definitely alone. If I’m in a group I end up helping everyone else and don’t get my stuff done.
I love to craft in a group, but do just as well alone. However, when crafting alone, I am soooo messy, and tend to go on to another project before I clean up the one just finished. I really need a “crafting fairy” to go behind me and clean things up! :)
Beautiful card Becca, with a gorgeous bow!
What a rich collection of purples in that card! Love it!
I like the social aspect of getting together to do some crafting, but once I get going in a group, I tend to get quiet and do my thing. If I am really intent on creating, or getting a lot done, then I have the Mom CAVE for a reason. It may not have a door but it is aptly named. Don’t bug me unless there is smoke WITH fire or there are copious amounts of blood.
Good job getting the counter cleared off…I am jealous of a 12 foot space…wow! And I know how you feel. Sometimes it just has to be done! I find myself with projects lining up, supplies all gathered, until finally th space is covere. Makes me crazy! I love walking into clean, ready to use space so I really try to keep it ready to go. Occasionally the bad disorganized fairies get in there and things explode. Glad to know there is a group of them at your house too!
Thanks, Becca, for another giving day…
Joni
I like to craft alone. I get way more finished and all my stuff is at the ready. Beautiful card Becca! Thanks for a chance to win it. Loves,Ruthie
Oh boy, I am definitely a lone crafter. I can’t think and plan (my project) with a bunch of chatter or commotion, drives me nuts.
I love the social aspect of crafting together, but I prefer to craft alone. I get more done and I like having all my “stash” and supplies where they are handy rather than being somewhere and not having what I want. It’s more trouble to me to get together a project to take along somewhere than to do it at home. Beautiful card…seems like I’ve needed a lot of get well cards lately.
Hi Becca I have been following your blog for years and adore all of your cards, I am a lone crafter because I am a perfectionist and have to do things right. Have a lovely weekend.xx
Becca, that is a lovely Get Well card and will cheer anyone during a time of illness. Thank you for the inspiration.
As a paper crafter, I do more work when I am alone, as in cranking our the finished product.
But I do love crafting with a group – for a different reason. Not to just crank out the cards. I enjoy crafting with a group for the friendship and the sharing of ideas. I think it is very stimulating to see what others are creating and to be able to encourage each other on the journey of paper crafting.
Paper crafters are generous and giving people and often share ideas and techniques freely. Most other craft people are very proprietary and unwilling to share.
If I were sick that gorgeous flower would surely perk me up! I really enjoyed our small crafting group but all but me have moved on so I craft alone now. Good memories. Will you show us your craft room when it is ready?
Hi Becca! I am afraid that I am a ‘lone’ crafter, also. I invite my 6 Grand Daughters over to make cards and I end up just watching them create and finding anything they need. At get-togethers I cannot get inspired to craft. Your card today is beautiful…as all of them are. It is a great idea to make and have on hand for Get Well cards.
Crafting in a group can be fun, but I am more efficient and creative alone.
I LOVE to craft in a group. Not because I get much done, but the ideas and inspiration I get from others is what I look for. I agree, group crafting is a VERY social activity for me. I am more productive when I am alone, but prefer to be in a group. Unfortunately, with the closing of so many small shops, it is harder and harder to be in a group. And I miss my crafting friends!
I’m more focused when I craft alone and certainly get a lot more done but I love the socializing of a group. I also often pick up different techniques in a group and its so much easier to learn when someone shows you.
Carol b
Morning Becca
The group I go to is only small but very friendly and heaps of laughs.
So no we just focus on cards, there is lots of catchup time as well as a cup and bickie.
Many thanks
Annamieke from the land down under
Love the card so pretty. I like crafting in a group but do not have anyone around me to do that with so I do it alone but that’s okay
How I would love an empty workspace! While group crafting allows for encouraging one another I work best by myself. I have an “upper room” which is very messy, not enough storage for the amount of stuff I have, but it is cosy where I can focus on who I am making a card for and their circumstances, which to me is all important. Your cards continue to inspire.
I don’t need a get well card, but I would love to have any of your cards.
Dear Becca!
Beautiful card! Great dies! Just need your help locating the circle part. Probably staring me in the face, but I’m missing it!!!
Beautiful!
To answer your question – I’m usually a “crafting loner” I seem to do my best work at the oddest hours of the day! Never on command within a group – It’s just not my thing! I do dearly love to be with people and help them enjoy the craft, but personally I love me, my paper, and my music! Ahhhh, it’s calming just thinking about it!
Love the colours in this card Becca! I craft alone as I do not have a group but I also have cyber contact with a couple of friends, who also craft. Funny you should be having a tidy this week. I too have been trying to get some order!
Becca – Love the card today – course I love all of your cards. I love to craft with friends, but I think I definitely get more done crafting by myself. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Becca, I have been out of state and came back to a beautiful card! Soooo pretty in purple! I too work better alsone. I get so much more done. I like a nice clean work space too, makes it easier. Blessings, Lisa
Even though I teach crafting and work along with my students showing them as we go, I work better when creating or preparing by myself. I can talk my way through each step. That also prepares me to “instruct” as I can hear myself as I try to explain each step.of course this provides a lot of amusement for my family when carrying on these little lessons!
I love today’s card and enjoy seeing you re-invent new cards with your older dies. Thanks for sharing your talents.
I find that I craft better alone. I can focus easier without the distractions that come from being in a group. But then, I am ADD.
Beautiful! I absolutely love any shade of purple.
I much prefer to craft alone and I get more done that way. I am one who will have an “instant” idea or change the design and find that I don’t have what I need. I won’t be able to move on until I finish that projects. So having all my things at arm’s reach is a necessity for me.
Hi Becca, beautiful card, I like to stamp alone, it is like meditation for me, I understand the group thing,
I am battling away trying to learn french and our group does do a lot of talking.
Rene from OZ xo
I do better in a group as I have focus issues! I’m too hyper and get distracted easily!
I guess it depends on what I am working on. If it is a tad complicated or a new technique then I definitely want to work alone. I need to keep focused and not be distracted.
Love the card you are sharing today.
Hugs,
Barbara G
Hi Becca,
Your card is so beautiful. I only WISH I had dies like that!
I try to get my crafty friends in for a day as often as I can. We do the whole day thing with a pot luck lunch. Unfortunately, for me, I seem to get nothing done as I cannot function, creatively, in a group. However, I LOVE the crafty chat and sharing of ideas and that is as good to me as a productive day by myself! So, in answer to your question, over the years I have come to realize I am MUCH more creative on my own!
beautiful card!!! most of the time I am alone, other times with friends. sometimes I need help, lol
I love this card and it is done in my favorite colors! I craft better in a group. I like getting ideas!
I do much better crafting alone. I craft with a friend sometimes but I prefer my alone time. Beautiful card Becca!
Again a very nice card. I love the background colors that are coming through. I like to craft alone or with one person. When I go to a class to learn a new technique, I can hardly finish the project as there is too much going on around me. Thanks again for the contest.
Thus card is screamingly gorgeous. . . My favorite colors!
I really have no group to craft with so it is just me.
I love crafting with a few friends, they inspire me. I make up kits for them and show them a card I have made with exactly the same supplies. I love to watch the create something totally different.
Oh my, I thought you were commenting about me. My craft room is in ‘disaster’ mode and I promised myself that I shall tackle it next week Monday for my annual clean and preen event. I love attending my card clubs but love the socializing more than working on any project and everybody knows that. I’m a ‘Lone Ranger’ crafter. I can focus and concentrate on projects forever if I’m not distracted. I’ve always been like that even in school (h.s. and college). Great minds sometimes have to isolate themselves to be able to create. LOL.
I definitely need to be alone to craft, although I certainly find the work of others gets my creative juices flowing. I identify with your need to “destash. I often tell myself I should Make myself make a few cards with just the things I have already on my desk.
Becca forst let me say you card is stunning – love the rich colours you have used!
I love crafting with a group, but like you I don’t get a lot done – if I have deadlines and orders I far prefer to craft on my own – in silence!
For a while my daughter and I would get together and we would ‘spark’ off each other, but her card making ventures did not last long, unfortunately :-(.
Blessings
Maxine
Once again you’ve made another beautiful card! Thank you for sharing! I too prefer to craft alone and I also meet with a group of women once a month. We socialize more than craft but it’s all in fun.
This is a beautiful card! I have never crafted in a group before…I’m pretty new actually to card making, so haven’t had the chance (and probably won’t as I don’t know anyone who does card making) but if having extra people just visiting us is any indication, I wouldn’t do to well at crafting in a group, cause I find it hard to craft if anyone else is around. My hubby has a friend how visits now and then, and if he’s here, even if they are out messing around in hubbies workshop, I find it next to impossible to concentrate on making a card. So…I’d have to say I’d be much better crafting alone. :-))
Today I tried clearing my stamp area and found so many things that have set needing completion. All my cards to my friends are still setting there calling my name. I find your use of color and dies so inspiring that I have decided to finish my cards. I am sure my girlfriend will appreciate my get well card that I started before her surgery. My best friend is probably wondering what has happened to me. I have failed to communicate with her for over a year. Your having to clean your area has made me think about the clutter in my work space. Thank you for your inspiration… keep the cards a coming, I do so enjoy them.
Oh my!!!! I love this design!!!! You have an amazing gift!,, than you…
Stunning card love the layering and the flower is Beautiful the added ribbon adds that special touch. thanks for sharing,
I work better in a group because my Granddaughter is at home and I cant get anything done because she is into everything and I have to stop every minute to check on her. but then she is only 3 so when she is older i will get her into scrapbooking with Grandma.
Hugs
Hope the craft room fairy comes to my craft room soon…it’s terrible….love crafting once a month with the stampin up group, but I do my best alone too…but this would never stop me from going every month…..miss them much in the winter, when we go away, but in the winter I go 2 times a week, one for card making and another for scrap booking …plus a few others thrown in here and there ….lovely card as always, once again, thanks for sharing and still hoping for bow video, am I the only one that would love to make beccas awesome bows?
Love this card!
I am definitely a lone crafter–if I want to get something done. My creativity comes with silence. But when I just want to puddler along, a friend or two, or five is always great.
Another stunning and beautiful card. You are always such an inspiration, thank you so much for sharing… God bless you Becca.
I love to craft with friends, that said, if I’m creating, I need to focus, I do that best alone. There are 5 of us that meet every Monday. We spend most of the day laughing and sharing great ideas. We have lunch and return to actually finish a project – doesn’t always happen. The time we share is priceless. That leaves 6 days to focus and create! Love your cards….today’s is another beauty. I agree, cleaning and organizing makes mornings so refreshing. I smile when I peek into my craft room and look forward to creating.
Becca, I love all your cards! You and they are such an inspiration to me! The answer to your question: I craft alone!!! I don’t have anyone around to craft with!!! So I don’t really know for sure if I could craft with others, as I have never really had a chance to find out!!!
Hi, Becca,
Beautiful card and have a beautiful weekend!
I love crafting with others as a means of connecting and sharing ideas and information. Creativity, though, is a pretty solitary venture. I rely on inspiration and for that I need quiet time to listen (to Spirit within).
Love and blessings,
Sandy
What a pretty card Becca. I am too living in stacks of paper etc. doing my Christmas cards and have to take a breather and clean up and start all over again. I am a lone crafter also. I get more done and not distracted from the project I want to finish. The best time is when I spend with my 7 year old grandchild who loves to scrap with me. Making memories is wonderful.
Beautiful card today. I too, get together with a group of ladies monthly to make cards and socialize. However, I prefer to create in “my room while listening to soft music”. I concentrate better and am more creative. I have all my “stuff” at my finger tips while with the gang, I don’t.
I get inspired by my friends when we get together each month, but ours always turns into a social occasion, too! I craft alone when I can clear off a couple inches on my desk!
I love your card.
I craft best on my own. I’d rather socialize when I’m in a group so I don’t stay focused on my project.
I have no company for crafting. Don’t know how it is. So have always done it alone.
Firstly, I love the card!! I am a purple lover.
As far as the question goes…I, too, craft with a group of ladies every month. We usually spend at least 3 hours together. We all do the same project, though, whether it be a set of cards, a scrapbook page or a 3-d project. We all get our project done, but we do spend a lot of time visiting and laughing. I certainly can get things done more quickly when I craft alone and I really enjoy spending “me” time alone in my space, but I also love the company of this diverse group of women.
Such a beautiful card, Becca. The colors are just attention grabbers!
I belong to several crafting clubs, which I thoroughly enjoy. What a fun time chit chatting & sharing ideas! And sometimes I go to friends homes & we work on projects together.
But if I am serious about accomplishing a project, I need to be home in my own room with my own stuff. And no interruptions, please! Lol
I scrap and make cards alone and when I did scrap with my bestie we rarely talked and just scrapped away. She passed a few years ago and I miss her dearly. I too am rearranging my scrap room as I can’t find anything any more. I have built three cabinets from Ikea and have two more to go and my long table is finally clean and what a wonderful feeling that is. Thank you for all your inspiration we so appreciate it.
Wonderful card Becca!!!! I belong to several card clubs and enjoy each one for different reasons. While we do get a lot accomplished, I find I am more productive when working alone….probably because I am fussy and can take my time – LOL!
Definitely enjoy each and every opportunity to craft!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
A simply elegant card, Becca. I usually craft alone or with only one or two others. When my craft group is getting together, I have to plan ahead and have all parts of my project ready if I want to get anything done. Then I can assemble it and still be social. The only alternative to that is to do something repetitious, like shaping and layering a bunch of flowers, so I can do it without really thinking about it. We always spend a lot of time visiting.
Hello Becca love the card the colours are pretty!
I love crop days but don’t get as much done as I do at home on my own.
I enjoy classes when we do a kit as it is all ready to go , but must confess
Quiet time is precious time.
Take care stay safe XXX
I find trying to craft with friends means too much chatting and too little crafting. Both have their time and place.
What a brilliant card! Love it all, but especially how the ribbon goes across the corners. I would love the chance to own it.
I like your card very much, and I must say, most of the time I’m crafting alone,to clear my thoughts. But I like also to watch others crafting, like my very talented sister :)
hugs, Ernestine
Beautiful card! I tend to do best crafting alone, as I seem to become indecisive when I am in a group. I have to check out what everyone else is doing!
Beautiful card! I’m definitely more an alone crafter. I have to really concentrate when I create (which is part of what makes it so relaxing – I don’t think about anything else), so other people would be a distraction :0
Beautiful card Becca! As always! I too enjoy the retreats and get together a but I am definitely more productive alone with my Gospel music or piano! Love your blog!
What a beautiful card! I love that purple. I am definitely one that has to have my space tidy. So congratulations on getting yours cleaned up! It makes me happy to have mine tidied up between projects. I always craft alone. I don’t have but a couple crafty friends anyway so just enjoy time with friends socially. The most company I have while crafting is my sweet Maltese doggy, Teddy. He likes crafting! Haha!
Hi Becca. What a beautiful get well card! It almost makes me wish I wasn’t feeling well! :-)
I usually work better alone or with one or two other people. If there are too many people I am distracted and just end up talking! I do like having someone there to run ideas by and get their opinion.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Becca, This is a fabulous card, beautiful colours.
I know what you mean, when I am clearing things in my craft room, I find things I had totally forgotten that I had !! and it’s fabulous because I get excited all over again haha. I am trying to de-stash at the moment too.
Enjoy your weekend.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
What a gorgeous card! Thanks for sharing.
Loely card. To answer your question, I’m a solo act.
Oooooooooops! That was supposed to be Lovely card!
I almost always craft alone because I get more done and all my craft supplies are in one place. But once a year I go away for 4 days with my closest friends and we scrapbook the entire time! It’s social, but I try my best to actually get a layout or two done each day.
Hi Becca,
Sorry for my absence of late, I must say your past few cards have been stunning, just love them and this one is no exception, gorgeous.
I hope you are well?
Love & hugs

Hello Becca,
Your card would certainly make the recipient feel a whole lot better!!!
Of necessity, I craft alone, but when I get the chance (the last time was two years ago) I love to craft in a group and swap ideas and stamps or dies whilst there.

Hi Becca, I do best creating alone with one or more of your cards to guide me. Usually not an exact copy because though my stash is endless I need to improvise to come close to match your work. And I do best with an uncluttered surface which isn’t always the case. I’m traveling and out of FL into Alaska but am finding the time for my Becca fix between the bear and moose sitings. Thanks for another great card. Barbara
Lovely card Becca (as usual)! I too am a crafter that works better when I am in my crafting room. I converted one of the bedrooms as my sanctuary. It’s time for me to do exactly what you just did. :-( I just can’t seem to get my mind right and go ahead to take the plunge. Pray for me, cause my sanctuary is starting to look like a three year old had a tantrum in there.
We have a Card Making small group ministry at church. I love the monthly
Bible study and card making, but I’m afraid I never get anything done besides either catching up with my friends, helping someone with their project, or demonstrating even though I’m not the leader of the group.
Hi Becca
Love the new website. I haven”t visited in a long while! I am definitely a lone crafter. Its how I find my strength. I love the peace and solitude.
I do enjoy getting together with my stamping friends to make cards, but like you, I get more done by myself. I love your card today, another Becca Beauty! Another one I’d like to case. Thanks for sharing.
I craft alone.
Dear Becca,
I found my way to your site today via a Pinterest board. I absolutely love the cards I have found here. Every detail adds to the dimension and richness of the card. I have found new inspiration!
I take a card class each Friday and have a wonderful time and learn so many techniques from our wonderful teacher, but when I want to create or practice a new technique it is when I am alone.
I still love a good play date though!
Thanks for sharing!
Vicki
I tend to craft alone well not along me and my pooch craft because he loves to stay between my legs because when has had enough of me crafting and demands my attention he puts his big nose on the keyboard or whatever it is I am doing to make it known he is there! Gotta love him right
Well…I somehow missed this post and while it’s much too late for m r to enter to win this fabulous card, I thought I would comment anyway.
I definitely accomplish more when I craft alone but I truly enjoy crafting with other. I love the social interaction but most of all, I love to sit with a group of crafters and watch them create. I really enjoy the discussion that can take place when crafters share ideas. It’s so inpiring!
Becca, all your cards are georgeous!! I love to craft with one other person otherwise it is a social event! That is nice too, but nothing gets done!!
