Good morning sweet friends! Today is Day of Giving Friday and I’m getting ready to send the next batch of cards out. Can I just tell you that when I don’t make a new card for Day of Giving Friday, I take a look through my never ending stash. That’s a great feeling but even more, the rush of memories is delightful. I remember what I was doing and what I was going through with each card. I don’t know why, but this was one of my very, very favorites. Leave a reply if you’d like it to come live at your house.
This time around, I decided to do the inside with using the same punch. Easy!
The pretty swirl making the frame around the card uses an EKSuccess border punch. I haven’t picked a border punch up in a long time but they’ve always been one of my favorite tools. I figured out an easy way to punch the border on four sides so that it fit and I show that in an older youtube HERE. This especially works with long tall sentiments and there’s also a way to make a square sentiment as I ‘ve shown HERE. It makes a lovely background to an easy card.

Great card. I’m not too up on what is trending. I just know what I like. First I was a paper addict, became a stampaholic, progressed to punch binging, and am now a die freak. The best part is, I’M NOT LOOKING FOR A CURE OR TREATMENT! (;}
Very pretty my friend, Becca. Just like Earlene I too am a dieaholic! Can’t stop buying but I have told my hubby if I die first that they are worth a lot LOL.

Since I have been stamping since….the late 1980’s (!!!) I have seen lots of things come and go. I have loads of stamps and am happy to see they are still popular, even though the dies, computer graphics, and electronic cutting have added a lot to my cardmaking. I still reach for the stamps.

Your cards are so beautiful. I am a bit behind on my site. As a solo crafter, wife and mom, an aged self is not as fast as she used to be. As I operate a Non Profit business, funds are always tight. Where I won’t cut corners, it is often limiting quantities.
Becca I believe that your cards are as beautiful as you are. You have touched my heart so many times through your trials and triumphs. I have thought on several occasions that I may not ever get to drink coffee with you or have intimate girlfriend chats with you on planet earth, but as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will have all of eternity to get to know each other. As a always, Becca, you outdo yourself with each card. I confess to being more and more of a die-aholic, too, but also love punches for their quickness, They are very versatile.
Once again you´ve shared such a beautiful card here today. I love the soft gentle touch to it.
I must confess I don´t think much about if anything is on trend or not, I do what I like and try some new things now and then and some I really like and keep in, while others I don´t really like, and then they´re gone again pretty soon.
I also have been using my punches more lately. They were gathering dust. :-)
I have been using them to make my envelope liners. 99.9% of the time I make my own envelopes so I like to jazz them up a bit.
I love the inside of this card as much as the outside! Pink gingham is so feminine. Lately I have gone back to stamping some images and coloring them with watercolor pencils, blending with a blender pen and then fussy cutting them vs buying dies for images I already have.
Your card is just beautiful as always Becca, i like my dies some beautiful new ones coming out ,just wish i could afford them .

Lovely sentiment. I usually don’t keep up with the trends. I read all about them, may try a few at the time. But they come to mind later and I enjoy trying a trend from the past. Time to drag out my crimper.
I love the trend of DIY. I remember in the 60’s we made our clothes, cooked from scratch and my mom decorated the house with hand made items and of course all the crafts and hand made cards! Another lovely card Becca . . . Have a wonderful weekend! !

Love the saying Becca – and, the card. So appropriate for me at this time as we have a tree farm…you really feel in touch with God when walking thru the grove of 40 feet high Christmas Trees planted 12 feet apart so it is a forrest! Smells just like Christmas!!!!
Can’t think of any tool that has come back to my use other than a punch or two that I am liking..

I love this card. When you first showed how to use the punch for a frame, I tried it several times. I haven’t done it since, so it is great to get a refresher. I’ll have to start using the punches again. So that is my come-back tool.

First of all I must say all the cards you create are beautiful! I’m really not into trends I just make what I feel at that moment. Usually it turns out but there have really been some disasters. lol
Unicorns seem to be a fad now–collected them decades ago on store bought cards when they were so hard to find. Copper seems to be a trendy color now– love it for autumn.

i sometimes forget that i have that hand held die punch with the little squares. the name is alluding me now. just the other day i remembered to personalize something i mad in the mixed media relm. love these cards and all of you tutorials. tfs

Hi Becca, this card is so beautifully made. I’ve always loved using punches. I am not sure what is in & trending, but I always seem to find that when I like something & want to purchase it it is old stock. Gotta love google though, it always makes it a challenge to find.
I am yet to master using my punch around the page punches lol

What a lovely card and I was very surprised to learn that the openwork was not from a die but from your border punches. Thank you so much for the tutorials!
I love dry embossing with brass stencils and for awhile it seemed everyone stopped making them. I know dies can do this too, but even so, I was so happy when I found stencils available again.
Isn’t it great to have so many creative tools available to us?!

Truly beautiful card, yet again! Strangely enough, it’s the large border punches which have made a come back with me. Only a few days ago, I did a batch where I punched both sides of a strip of card so that I could run a ribbon through the centre and I’d forgotten just how lovely they look. Great minds think alike!
I especially like today’s card for it’s simplicity and good-for-all-reasons usage. I’ve noticed and happily welcomed back the availability of stencils. My collection dates back to the 70’s and I’ve always made it a point to use them several times a year so they wouldn’t be forgotten or wasted expenditures. The stencils allow me to play around with coloring and different medias for effect.

This one indeed is special as I am Lutheran so Martin Luther is familiar to me and next year is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. I didn’t know there were stamps with his quotes. I’m so happy that embossing powder has made a come back. When I was first introduced to it, we used a light bulb as the heat source to melt the powder…a heat gun is a definite improvement over the light bulb. :) Gorgeous card!!

I received your very lovely card in the mail this week! It was a wonderful pick-me-up, and I know with whom I will share it!
I started card making after the paper- crimping rage had passed. I think the crimper is lots of fun to use both on cards and on other types of crafts. I also like chalks.
I could really use this card right now. I am going through so many painful illnesses that still are not being treated even after two years of suffering from an infection that has been spreading throughout my body. I am still fighting for the antibiotic I need so in the meantime the Psoriatic Arthritis is running rampant as well which is really painful this time of year. So please keep me in your prayers.

Hmmm, Well, Can I just say I have never had any tools of the trade other than cardstock, paper,scissors and Ribbon before now….BUT, I just sprung for the new Platinum 6 and cannot wait for my shoulder to heal so I can play with it :D. The first two dies I bought for it was a cross and a heart. These two symbols mean so very much to me. I did get some embossing folders , too. I also have a flower making punch now , too! So I am ecstatic!!!!

Well I cannot be greedy, since I received one of your precious cards. It has a place in our home so that I see it every day as I sit down to have meals. Makes me say ahhh! So I cannot wish for another one. I do love the way you used the tiny floral designer paper. My organza bows don’t seem to lay flat like I see that yours does. Is there a secret? Are you using your own bow maker? The sentiment is so appropriate for this time of year when the sky is so clear you can see all of the stars. My Comment would consist of the square Martha Stewart magnetic punches that you made a Video about. I did the three hearts in a row. I had not used them in ages. I don’t really follow trends all that much, so I am not really aware of whats come back that used to be hot, although emboss resist seems to be very popular recently, and I have always enjoyed that,

Lovely card! I remember when you shared that tutorial with the border punch, and I bought the punch because I loved the results so much!
I find I am using my embossing folders more now after taking a break from them. I got some new ones I really like and can’t wait to try them out!
I am not one to really follow trends or rush to get the latest tool. I tend to do what I like. Punches and dies are a favorite because I don’t like to fussy cut. One Sheet Wonder cards are grabbing me right now. I think the technique took a break, but has made a strong return.

If you have grandchildren then adult coloring is just a continuation of a life pastime. My granddaughter has always been in to colored pencils instead of crayons. That’s the latest trend that I see today and have decided to do any coloring in card making by pencil and that wonderful colored pencil blender. It makes me look so much better than I am.

Adult colouring books are popular in the UK at the moment and when we were unwell as children, my mother would tuck us up on the sofa with a colouring book and pencils – so comforting. I’ve found that some of the older ladies who come to our crafting afternoon at Church, love picking up coloured pencils and use these, rather than pens, to colour stamped images. It’s so lovely to see this :o)

As always you have inspired me to create. Years ago, I invested quite a bit in brass stencils. They have been out of vogue for a while, but I am glad they and embossing paste are coming back.
