Happy Friday, and of course today is Day of Giving Friday! My card shown today is up for grabs to a sweet reader who leaves a comment. I randomly pick the winner from the comments and send the card out anywhere in the world. Okay on to my card for today – this is one of my all time favorites and someone gets it in their mailbox. I think I pulled this card out of my stash because (1) It shouldn’t be sitting in a stash – it should be in someones hands to use or love (2) It just goes to show you that an older card done with classic dies can still feel current today. I love this card as much today as the day I made it and would have no trouble sending in out. For this card I use a basic layering trick that I reach for all the time. I’ll explain.
It’s very easy to make cards by using ”card front” dies, as a matter of fact, that’s what I design most of the time. Today I’m using Spellbinders 5 x 7 Mystical Embrace and on top I have layered Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence. If you pair the largest card front dies with a medium or smaller card front die the largest pairing of layers is simply grand. Remember, you can use these separately to make either a large or small card, but they are lovely when paired together. When I go through my stash of dies I audition all of my card front dies this way. I’m always looking for two pairings that are offset and give me a great decorative border but are not too noisy together. As you can see, the decorative edges from Mystical Embrace peek out enough to look like a border, strictly because of the sheer size of the die. Then the more petite A2 size is a great platform for the embellishments and sentiment that go with the card. The final size is 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ :-)
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card. The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11. You can check the list of winners HERE! By the way, I loved reading what everyone collects last week!! For your comment: Do you keep a stash of cards or make them as you go?

Have a lovely weekend sweet friends! I’ll be back soon!
Another beautifully elegant card Becca. Your talent is amazing. I was just making cards as I needed them, but lately I have started making cards and putting them in my stash so I always have something ready to “finish” depending on what the occasion calls for. I so love all your cards.
I can never manage to stay ahead of my need for cards, so I make them as I need them. Another absolutely stunning card from your stash!! Thanks for sharing yourself and your cards with all of us!
love, love, love this card!! and I love that sentiment!! I have quite a stash, but if I see something I want to case, lol!!
Happy giving Friday and Happy Mother’s Day. I make my cards as. I go because for each person I give a card to and I want them to know I put in the work for them. And each one represents them
I tend to make as I go, but I have such good intentions of having a stash! Just doesn’t seem to happen!
Lovely card!
Lovely as always. Yes I do both. Stash away cards and then start all over when something comes up. Sometimes my stash just isn’t right. LOL
most of the time I use my stash. every now and then I have a particular idea and make it on the spot. we have a group of ladies that get together 3-4 times a year and that’s when I make the “ideas” that I have been thinking of. sometimes they work others eh not so much. this is a beautiful card. just so you know, most of the dies I have are because I have seen you use them in your beautiful cards. I guess that makes you an enabler. :)
I try to keep a small stash of a variety of cards, but never fail, I never seemed to have the right one. So I got smart and did everything on several different cards and just left off the salutation, i.e. Happy BD, Get Well, Thinking of You, etc. As needed I attached the appropriate greeting and am ready to send after I write a short note.
Beautiful as always Becca!Your creativity is simply amazing!
I keep a stash and oh boy! it has saved me many, many times. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, you are a great inspiration!
Beautiful card Becca & one of may favorite verses.
I make a card as I need one & not always on time
I simply love ?? that verse it kind of reminds me of my daughter . Love the card it shows you passion for what you do. The verse makes me fil good soul! Thank you for sharing freind.
Now for the you asked …. I wish I could say I had a stash I have so busy I have had to say I make them as I go. However, I do make things to go on my cards or just play around in between.
Yes, I try to keep a stash of cards, however, sympathy cards seem to go out faster than the rest so that’s telling me we are getting that age. :( Thank you for your enlightening talent that you share, love, love, love them all
You never cease to amaze!
I keep a stash of some cards, but special ones I make as needed!
Oh Becca, that is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks so much for being willing to share your passion for cardmaking.
Hello Becca,
I love this card today, it’s very similar to one you showed a few years ago and which I loved so much that I made some very similar.
I always make birthday and anniversary cards a couple of months in advance, and GWS and Sympathy cards as I need them. However, after having an accident and unable to make cards for the time being, I am going to make a crafty stash as soon as I am able as it would have been so handy to be able to just dip in to it!!!
love Maureen xxx
Becca, to answer your question. Cards that I make during my hostess club I usually keep. Then there are other times I make cards for a special occasion and mail those or give them to the person I made it for. Then there are those I made by special request and sell.
Beautiful card Becca. I just love your bows and feathers are one of my favs right now. Love the color combo of your card. Very soothing. I have a nice little stash!!
Absolut gorgeous card here as usual Becca, and will fit perfect for most occasions too.
It´s been years since I´ve been able to keep a stock on cards, I´m afraid. With 4 kids and 9 grandkids, there´s always someone who´s just in need for any cards, I ever make, so they never grow old here, and I most times have to make them as they´re needed, cause if I finally manage to make a lot, there´s always some, who´s grabbing them as soon as they´re finished LOL. But I guess I shall be glad, they like them enough to grab them right away ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful week-end ahead now everyone.
This is just an elegant card with the perfect saying. I love it created with these soft colors! Perfect!!
Becca: what a beautiful card. The sentiment is perfect with the style of this card. You too have an”Amazing” talent.
I love this over-the-top glorious card!! I have never seen the pearls paired with the feathers, but it is so lovely. No, I can’t keep a stash of cards in general, as I prefer to be inspired by the person I’m creating it for. It is so much more fun to tailor the cards to what I think will excite them. Thank you for all your inspirational ideas!
Beautiful card Becca…would be delighted to be able to display it in my Studio!!!
I dooooo keep a Stash of cards and sometimes it is difficult to ‘let go’. Then I find just the right one for the occasion and that card MUST be sent!!! Oh the woes of the crafter – LOL!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Oh definitely a stash. Gorgeous card again Becca!
Another beautiful card. I try to keep a few basic cards available to I can just add a sentiment, but mainly make as I need. I get such wonderful inspiration from you and I know who this card would go to if I were to be so lucky!
Lovely card, Ms. Becca…love the taupe, the layers, and the sentiment. As always, it works perfectly with your style showing through.
I have a stash which I draw on for quick needs for those who aren’t really “close” friends. But for close friends and family, I make specifically for the person – their colors, and for that occasion, illness, etc.
Hope your weekend is lovely!
Joni
Another stunning card Becca — I am totally in love with it. I have a dear friend who is in stage 4 cancer (just taking it one day at a time) and this card is perfect for her. I have the dies you used and will attempt to replicate yours. You are so inspiring.
In answer to your question, I usually have a “go to” stash of cards, but I have depleted it… I am sending too many sympathy cards, so I need to replenish my stock…making sympathy cards when I NEED them is more difficult for me.
This is a super color combo. I love the taupe and the way you made the feathers as pretty as swirls and flowers. Comment: I have been part of a card making group for thirteen years. So I usually have a stash of cards I can bundle as a gift. Occasionally, I will use a card from the stash. However, lately I have been making “custom” cards.
Wow, this is gorgeous!
The beautiful color combo and the details make it so elegant.
I try to keep a stash of cards, but always end up making new ones when in need of a card for a special occasion ;))
Gorgeous card! I belong to a couple of card kit clubs so, I have a huge stack of cards ready to go.
Wow what an Amazing card. I wish u lived closer then we can get together and make cards. Also this card would look so good in a frame on my wall like some I have made for my Husband. I would be honoured to put this nect to ones I made for my hubby. thanks for the chance to win and for sharing your cards with us all. Hugs Anita
A beautiful card and sentiment Becca. Psalm 91 is a favorite Bible verse of mine.
This is elegant, Becca. Your recipe is easy, but you have such a gift for combining color, motifs, ribbons, trims , and sentiment for a classy and unique card.
Hi Bekka,
I am new to your website and blog. I’m impressed with the beauty and complexity of your cards. I have been making cards as I go, because I seem to need to know whom the recipient will be before I can get started. However, I am coming to realize that I will send many cards to the same people each year. So, I can look ahead to annual events. The card you have shown for this week’s giveaway is so stunning in its’ sentiment and execution, and would be perfect to give when a loved one faces a great challenge or a great sorrow. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. They are most inspiring.
Judy Schaub
Happy Friday, Becca,
What a lovely card! The “putty-colored” paper really looks sophisticated with the cream, especially with the pearl accents.
Thank goodness I keep a small stash of cards because they have come in very handy, at times…like today! I prefer custom made cards, though.
Love & blessings,
Sandy
So beautiful, Becca. One of my favorites, as well. I have quite a large stash of cards which I access frequently; but I am often inspired to make a card from scratch after seeing someone else’s lovely creation.
So beautiful & elegant! As I go.
Another award winning master piece!!!
Your cards are amazing becca i would love to be able to make such beautiful cards like yours .i try to keep a little stash going and often look at your website for inspiration
Happy Mother’s Day Becca! Yet another glorious and stunning card….I love the verse too. You are such an amazing lady! I have to admit that I am always behind on my card making. I make each card to fit the person….however I always have a few die cuts and embellishments that I’ve made that didn’t work for a particular card. So I do have a stash of bits and pieces!! Hugs. Lori
Another lovely inspirational card for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing it. With a large extended family, friends from many stages of my life and organizations I associate with, I am always in need of cards for all reasons and seasons. Located in easy reaching I have several containers of cards ready.to.go. These cards are collections from the card ‘clubs’ I belong to and what I enjoy crafting myself. And there is always enough to share with friends who are not the artsy type but may need cards to send out themselves.
Good morning Becca. A very special card from you today. Thank you for your explanation about the layering It all makes perfect sense when you explain! I make cards and have some go to ones for a quick card to send but also like making special ones for occasions which pop up.
I can see why this is a favourite card of yours, Becca! Everything about it is beautiful and it is such a wonderful setting for the quote from Psalms!
I have a very large stash of cards as I make them for charity and so try to make multiples of the same design and also have samples I’ve made for our crafting group at Church. Having said that, nine times out of ten, I make a new card!!
Hugs
Anne(UK)x
Hi Becca,
You are so clever in the way you use your dies. I can only dream of making mine as versatile as you do! Thank you for sharing your tips & talent. I love this card & the sentiment for the psalm quote. I have both these dies & can’t wait to give it a try.
Unfortunately I don’t get enough spare play time to have a stash of cards on hand. I seem to make as I go. Even if I make the occasional extra card to put aside, it never lasts long!
Have a lovely weekend x
Hi Becca – another beautiful card. I make my cards as needed.
Such an awesome card, Becca! As for a stash of cards, I do tend to keep some for emergencies, but for special people or occasions, I make those as needed!
This card is so lovely and just the message I need to hear at this very moment. I have just been diagnosed with Dysautonomia. I am now to the point I am stuttering and having tremors. Would love to have your Prayers added to the list of prayer Warriors who are praying for me.
—
I usually make my cards as I need them. I do not have many things to make them pretty like yours but I do have my poetry I have added to each.
I wish you a wonderful week ahead.
Hi Becca
Gorgeous card again the verse and colour are beautiful.
I usually have a few cards to fall back on ,however i usually make 3 months of family cards at a time , birthday, anniversary etc .
God Bless
Elaine H X
So elegant. My life verse! I love it. The pearls and bow really make the card. I keep a stash, but most times I end up making a card at the time. I try to make two or three when I am doing it though.
Another original beauty – you are just full of them Becca – you are an absolute inspiration! Hugs the kardlady
You are very talent. Always with lovely cards.
I have a box of cards made ahead but sometimes I still make a card as I go.
Hi Becca I really love your card. I have those dies and I still reach for them today. I try to have cards stashed away so when I need them they are ready for the taking, but sometimes life gets in the way of crafty fun and I have to make them as I go.
Love this card, Becca, my friend! Love them all. I wish I had time to create a stash but I usually only make for great friends and relatives so each one is individual to that person. That is what making cards is all about, if you ask me! Individualize to the person and they will love you forever and also keep the cards, never throw them away.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to my mentor!!
Hugs,
Ann “spellbinder” Robbins
So elegant and beautifully done. I have two of the dies you used and never quite sure what to do with them…You sure have given me some amazing inspiration for using them…
These days I mostly make cards as I need them for a special birthday, etc. But I also try and keep a small stash on hand for when I quickly need a card.
A really stunning card Becca, beautifully done and it looks so very classy and elegant. I try to have a couple of cards in hand, however, I tend to make from scratch for most of them. I try to theme my cards to the person and what they like. Thank you for your hints and tips, always useful. X
What a beautiful card and would just love to win! I have a card stash and sometimes hate to give them away! I also make cards as needed. Thanks so much for sharing your cards with us!
This is a favorite color combination and you use it so beautifully! Could you instruct us on that bow? I’ve tried it many times with my narrow silk ribbon but it never seems to look as good as yours. How many loops? How do you get it to stay bent in half? All advice greatly appreciated… And… I do have a stash. Like one of the other commenters, I seldom put a greeting on the card ’til I’m ready to use it.
Beautiful Becca … I made something similar last year’s in greys and white but as a thank you. Love white feathers….always feel close to the angels when I see one xx
Gorgeous card once again…I love your style and the way you combine the dies! To answer your question I do both. I have a stash but also make cards for a specific person when I can.
I love this card, everything goes together so well. I usually make the cards as I go but do have a starch on hand. Christine S.
Love the earth tones used for this card along with the pearls running up the center of the feathers! So different from your use of gold in the last posting.
Use a stash or make as I go: I pull from a stash that I make or that I get in card exchanges with a small group of friends.
Beautiful card and I love the sentiment!!
Most of the cards in my stash have been made at workshops, and a lot of the times don’t fit either the person, or occasion that I need a card for. So….. I usually end up making a card! :)
Both! I have a stash of cards that I build up in the summer time when I am not teaching. If I get a new stamp set, some fun supplies, or see a sketch I want to play along with, I will usually make a card for the next occasion.
Good morning Becca, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!
Someone’s going to be happy!!!
I tend to make as I go : )
Have a good one!!!
Loopy Lyndaxxx
Hi Becca this card from your stash fits in so well
with today’s cards !
I give most of my stash cards away to people for them
to send and mostly give made for the person myself.
Happy Mothers Day to you and the ladies on your blog
Hugs Pam xxxxxx
GORGEOUS BECCA! I think this would make a nice Wedding Card too! Just change up the verse. ;) I make my cards as I go, for an occasion or person. But, I like to do challenges, & they are the ones that seem to pile up on my desk. :) And I pull from them at times to send to my friends or kids. ;)
You’re right; that’s a classic in any year. I try to keep a stash but sometimes I get below the low water mark and make as I go OR my stash doesn’t have the PERFECT card, so you have to make one, right??
WOW! Awesome card! I only wish I had the time to have a stash of cards. I make them one or maybe two at a time!
This one is beautiful! This is one of my favorite verses!
I have a stash of cards, but never go to them when I need one. I make a new one as I go. I really need to stop doing that! Your card is amazing! So beautiful.
I make cards as I go. Tried to cut up some bases but found they were never the right color for what I wanted to make. Very elegant card today.
Gorgeous card! When the feather die was released, I passed on it. After seeing how you’ve used it here, I regret having done that. I do not have a stash, but would like one. Guess I’ll have to work on that! ; – )
I have a stash like you wouldn’t believe. I use a lot for my family and friends, the church, charity organizations and I occasionally get to sell some. Which is hard to do. Nobody wants to pay more than $5.00. Ugh! I put so much into it. At least I can purchase a new stamp or die when I sell some. That is fun.
Oh my goodness this is just awesome, so beautifully done, love every detail, I especially love the pearls on the feathers!!
I make my cards as I need them, I would love to have a stash but I don’t ever seem to get caught up.
What a beautiful card, Becca. Old or new, who wouldn’t like to receive this?
To answer your question, I do both. I have a stash of duplicates to use when I’m in a hurry. Most often though, I create anew.
Such a beautiful card and sentiment. You have to be the best fussy cutter I’ve seen. It is perfect a edge around your sentiment. I’m also so excited that the card I won came in the mail. I saw the padded envelope and thought, what did you buy now that you forgot about? The pictures really don’t do your cards the justice they deserve. Now for your question. I would love to have a stash of completed cards and was doing pretty good until my husband passed away. Now they are gone and I can’t seem to find the motivation to get back to it again. I know that this too shall pass and I will be a maniac making cards again. Thank you for the inspiration your beautiful cards give.
Hang in there. I hope you find a card club to join. It’s inspiring to work with others and the social contact is rejuvenating. When you are ready though. But a card circle can be like a quilting bee –good excuse to get together and support each other by just being together.
This is just gorgeous! I do keep a stash of extra cards I don’t need yet. Thank you for the chance to win!
Hi Becca, Another beautiful card as usual. I always keep a stach of cards on hand, but some times I don’t have that special one I need.Have very Happy Mother’s Day, hope some of your family visits.
Hugs Yvonne
Love this card Becca – it is elegantly exquisite!
I generally ‘make as I go’ but I do have a small stash of cards that does come in handy on occasions!
Blessings
Maxine
Beautiful card! I have this die and it makes such an outstanding card. Your layering of the background is so precise, something I have to work on. Is there a special trick to it? I ususally make the cards as I need them. But when I do birthday cards for our Y birthday party, I make a sample and sometimes use that if a birthday comes up quickly. Thanks again for sharing.
Love this card. I usually keep a stash. My husband loves my cards, though, so sometimes my stash is depleted faster than I can keep up with.
Oh my word what an elegant card Becca! Stunning and so very beautiful. I love the pearl swirls.
I try to keep a stash of cards so I have something ready to go whenever I need it. I also make extra card kits when I teach a card class and those kits are great when I need a certain kind of card but not a lot of time to create one.
That’s a beautiful, elegant and timeless card, Becca. The soft colors are a perfect compliment to the verse. I like how you have attached the string of pearls down the feathers – it really makes them pop. A family member just found out today that she has cancer and my thought was to make a card with feathers on it, as she uses feathers in her healing circles. I don’t have any of those dies but I will try to incorporate some of your ideas on her card. Yes, I have a stash and I was just looking at them today as I have several birthdays coming up in May and June. I also make them as needed, because in some cases, I want something specific to give to someone. Happy Mother’s Day to you on Sunday!
Elegant and beautiful card today! You never cease to amaze me. I have both of these dies and never thought to put them together. I usually make the card for the person. Right now I’m making a couple dozen cards for our local Relay for Life, American Cancer fund raiser. They will be used as a door prize for a cancer survivor. I have made cards for the past 7 years, since I became a cancer survivor
How lovely!! I have a feather die but never thought to put pearls down the middle. Love that idea!
This is one of my all time favorite scriptures! I used to quote this one often when I was at a very low spot in my life!
Thanks for the blessing Becca and helping me remember HE is always with us no matter what we go through in life <3
What a amazing card. It brought tears to my eyes. Made me think of my dear hubby, who we have just learned he has cancer. I have faith that God will bring us through this. Thank you for such wonderful art.
Adore this card! Just beautiful. Stash? I try to build on my reserves but have trouble keeping it stocked. I make specialized family cards one at a time trying to double them in some way while the stuff is out. I’m trying not to be so set on ornate cards for my stash and trying to be happy with myself by making simplistic one layer ones to give to others.
I love the elegance of this lovely card and your sentiment choice is perfect! I have a few cards made up and would have more but my crafting has been hampered by health issues. Sometimes I hold onto cards just because I love them.
Happy Mother”s Day Becca!
I love your dies and the creative way you use them. Thank you so much for all you share with your inspiring cards. My dream is to make bows like you do so I’m practicing. Receiving one of your cards would be awesome. They are all so pretty! Thanks again for sharing instructions about your cards!
Morning Becca. A beautiful card as always. Love how you’ve stacked the two pretty dies together with those fabulous pearl adorned feathers, finIshed with a beautiful bow. I do keep what has become a large stash of cards but also make special ones for family and friends. Every now and again I give a batch to charity or family take them for their own use. Xx
I have a stash! Two reasons – I never know when I’ll need one in a hurry and the creative juices might not be flowing quite as freely that day! Nothing worse than needing a card for an occasion and not have those creative juices flowing!
Simply stunning card, Becca – the colours are so classy. When I have a little time, I go through my card list (which is huge!) and make cards, in the order they are needed, well in advance of when they are due. I have a very busy few months ahead and I knew I won’t have time to make anything later on so I am up to September, with each card labelled with the recipient’s name all ready to go on the due date. I have about 35 in the pipeline!

I have a cousin about to go through some chemo therapy. This would be a perfect support card for anyone with serious health issues. Thank you Becca.
What a stunning card it’s so beautiful. I’m doing the happy dance here….. Two of my ALL TIME ‘go to’ die sets used on one lovely card. I rarely put the Mystical Embrace large die away as I used it all the time although I never thought about pairing those two sets together, and now because of your wonderfully creative imagination I definitely will, thank you for the inspiration Becca. Annie xxx
Sorry cancel the last comment, I got so excited about the lovely card, I forgot to answer your question lol. I make mine as I go along as I struggle a bit to make a generic card without someone in mind. The card needs to fit the recipient.

Yes I have a stash of cards! I love being able to reach in at the last minute and have a perfect card!
I have a close nit set of friends and they are spoiled by my last minute card stash too, I love to share and make someone feel cherished, loved and special?
Have a wonderful day!
Hi Becca, This is such an elegant and pretty card, I’m loving everything about it !! The Psalm is ideal for this feathered card.
I try to make more cards than I need, but life seems to get in the way, and I nearly always make as I hahaha, but in an ‘ideal world’ I would love to have a stash of cards ‘ready’.
Enjoy your day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Very nice
What a pretty card as always you out did yourself again. Hope everything is going ok for you and your family.
Your Sister in Christ
Christine
Beautiful card today Becca. Especially love the colours you’ve used as well.
I try to keep a stash of cards if I can. But sometimes I need to do a rush one.
This is such a beautiful card. Loved it the first time you posted it. I generally make cards on request or as I have time to craft.
Beautiful card! I try to get ahead of my cards but most the time I make them as I need them. xx
I always have a stash of card never know when someone may need one
What a beautiful card and Ps 91 speaks to me, so. I have a stash of cards, but need to built it up again. I have a card ministry for church and soldiers and not much extra time to create. It would be an honor to win this card.
In Jesus,
Jesse
Well, I do have a stash of cards. When I look through them, it’s like looking at my journey as a card maker. Quite a few, I wouldn’t send to anyone. Don’t like them too much now!! Haha!! But I keep them to remind me that I’ve had fun creating and learning!!!
Becca, your cards are always so beautiful and have always been such an inspiration!!! Today’s card is awesome!!
Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you have had a wonderfully blessed day and that you were around your children.
This card is so lovely and you used such a heartwarming greeting on this card. I can see why it would be one of your favorite cards.
To your question: I have a small stash of cards “almost” ready to go. I have left off the greeting on the front and the inside sentiment on these cards in my stash. Sometimes I get too busy with “life” that my time designing and making a card in a timely fashion just is not going to happen. So, I have learned to keep a few cards on hand that only need a little more “something, something” to finish the card off before sending it on its way. In my first two years of designing my own cards, I did a “one on one” card. I had no cards in any stash waiting for a time when I needed the card done yesterday. As my designing got more involved and the time coming up with a design and the actual creating time became, well, more time consuming, I needed to have that stash of cards. Seems I can not do a “quickie” card. People who do not make cards, just do not know how much time and energy is put into that card they think is so lovely. So now with my stash available, I don’t get stressed if I don’t have the time I need to create that special card for my special someone.
This is just so Beautiful. Really. I haven’t been commenting much lately, but I do stop by to see what you’re doing!!
Awesome card…what was the most items that readers collected? I have a stash of cards always, I belong to card making class and always exchange cards, so I make a few extra for me..thanks for sharing..paper hugs
Oh what a lovely card, I adore the colours and such pretty feathers and pearls too.
If I make a card that I really love then I’ll keep it in my stash until I feel that I can give it to someone special.
Absolutely beautiful. Love the soft colors.
I do both… I have a stash that I use for last minute requests but because I personalize cards and greetings I typically make them as requested.
