The biggest gift I received from crafting has been friends. Friendships of other crafters has been wonderful. Crafters are so nice and such fun. Their generosity is amazing- always sharing their craft and always willing to help if they can.

Now, one of the best gifts I’ve gotten from making cards is the incredible people I’ve met along the way since I’ve started making cards just about 8 years ago, this group of fabulous and incredibly talented ladies have help me grow and be adventurous, trying out new things. One of this dear friends pushed me to get my new blog, which I started last December and now, through it, I’ve made even more friends. I love it.

One of my greatest gifts from crafting is watching the pleased reaction from the recipient when they open the cards. Several people have told me the cards they received over the years are still out “on the mantle”. My other greatest gift is my husband who really does not put a restraint on my buying – he knows that I will use the items. I am glad people found the carousel. I looked but did not find any – our Tuesday Mornings did not have any.
Your card today is a reminder that dies can be used on their sides as well. Thank you for that. Of course, the card is beautiful – I especially like this saying.

The biggest gift I have is hearing from our church secretary how people love receiving one of my homemade cards when they aren’t feeling well or just need a pick me up. I give the cards to the secretary and she sends them out according to need. But it feels good to know it may bring someone a smile as they look at it. Most of the recipients are elderly.
The best gift… Wow, being literal person , this is a hard question, but I’d have to say I love learning all the beautiful ways and talents of others through the blogs!
I joined a “Secret Sister” swap about 4 mos. ago, with a $25 limit…..Either my “sis” was a phenomenal shopper, or she went over the limit, because the amount of crafting supplies I received was AMAZING!
Oh my, I forgot to answer the question. My greatest gift of crafting was to receive the card from you, my friend and your notes attached meant so much to me. You are my “craft hero” and when I “grown up” I want to craft just like “Becca.” :)

The biggest gift I have received from crafting is FRIENDSHIP! I have met many wonderful ladies through attending “crops”. Several of us have formed lasting friendships, some of which have lasted TEN years at this point and are going strong. We are truly Sisters in Craft!

Love the elegance of this lovely card. My greatest gift has to be my lovely Australian friend Celia. We met on a blog through a random act of kindness. We immediately struck up a wonderful friendship, and I have been so blessed to have her visit Scotland on two occasions. We Skype each other at least once a week, and share everything crafty. Thanks to blogs like yours Becca, and the technology that we now have, the world is a smaller place. Although we Skype, we send cards and chatty letters back and forth. When all things cyber go awry, we always have the written word. My friend is indeed, my greatest crafty gift.

Crafting gives me pleasure…..In being able to look at something and recreate it, in giving to people that are going through illness or the loss of someone, and seeing the smile and appreciation .
The gift of friendship is the biggest gift I have received from crafting. I have shared my love of stamping with many of my friends and several are now stampers also. The biggest gift I get is the satisfaction of creating in a time when everything seems to be “cookie cutter”.
The largest in size was the doll house my mom commissioned for me when I was 7 or 8. It stood on legs (with wheels) that were about 2 feet tall. The house was huge, at 5 feet long, and about 2 feet wide! I always hoped for a daughter to hand it down to. But I gave it to our ministers daughter, and they’ve had it for years, but recently needed to downsize. I couldn’t afford to have it shipped to me, so I told them to give it to someone who would love it. I’m sure that it’s being loved again by some little ones, where ever it is. The second is this wonderful community of crafters!
The biggest gifts I have gotten from crafting are the friends that I have met on line through crafting. I will probably never meet them in person but their friendship has helped me through some tough times.
Almost fourteen years ago I was one of the charter members of a local stamp club. We have met once a month since then. The friendships that have been forged have been such a gift plus the joy our card making brings to others.

Spending time crafting with friends, laughing, creating, encouraging, and talking has been the greatest gift about crafting.
Like so many others who have commentated on your blog, it’s the fabulous friends I have met on my crafting journey. From just sticking embellishments onto cards, die cutting, embossing and being asked to join design teams. Some of them I have never met but love and enjoy the encouragement so feely given.

It’s giving me back my belief in GOOD Kind people…I was getting to where I thought most weren’t, but since I started learning to make cards in Feb of this year, I’ve run across several really nice generous people and it’s made me realize that not everyone is out for what they can get, or mean and vindictive. It’s so nice to see that again! And before you start thinking I need to change who I associate with, it’s a lot of times been family who have been this way…not just the general population, although there seem to be a lot of them who are that way too. Not all mind you…but a lot. But…mostly it’s family who took my belief in good people away, as sad as that is…mostly hubbies side, but still my own has some too. :(
Beautiful card Becca. Love the blue – not a colour I use much on my cards and yet I love blue. Crafters really are the most generous people who are always keen to help you or show you somethng etc. Since I started my blog I have made some wonderful blog friends from all over the UK and in fact we try to meet up and craft shows at least once, sometimes twice, a year. But I still have blog friends who I have never met up but they are still friends! Hugs Christine xx

As for your question: I have gotten a sense of satisfaction that I have touched someone with my creation/s. An exchanging of hearts to those I care about. ;)That gives me satisfaction, or is the biggest gift to me in my crafting. That goes for all crafts I do.

The most important thing I have learned from crafting is patience.
Patience to put in the time to see whatever is before me through to the end. This lesson began when I started quilting 20 years ago, and continues to this very day, when I am trying to hit on the just-right design for my Christmas cards. It is a lesson I apply to so many aspects of my life, including learning to tie bows like yours! :-)

The biggest thing I´ve got from crafting are definitely my sanity, when I unfortunately hasd to be health retired after more serious backsurgeries here some years ago, and then all the amazing friendships, I´ve made through crafting and different online craftgroups and blogs. Amazing friendships that has lasted for many many years, and of which I´ve had the pleasure to have more to visit me here in my place and I´ve been so lucky to visit several of them as well, on my trips to the US here twice over the last 5 years. So it´s given me priceless expiriences in many many ways, that´s for sure.

The biggest gift from crafting is two-fold for me. First, the camaraderie from being able to craft & socialize with my friends at the club I belong to. Fun sharing ideas & techniqes, tools, & having help when needed.
Secondly, realizing that I can actually make something out of paper & “stuff” that someone else actually really likes & actually purchases from time to time! That was a mind-blowing event for me. Plus, it makes them happy or makes them feel good to receive a card or project I have made. Love to make someone feel good! ?
Good morning Becca. Today’s card is just gorgeous and would love to have one of your beautiful creations. I love card making and get such a sense of my own creativity when I work in my craft studio. It is so peaceful and I just work away at a project slowly so it turns out just how I want it. It is wonderful to be able to give my gift of a card to friends that I no longer exchange gifts with. It gives me such pleasure to be able to custom make cards for my friends.

Best crafting gifts are the other people that has come into my life by crafting…used to do craft shows, now belong to some craft clubs in the winter when we go to az and belong to one here at home. The best gift crafting has given me is the ability to overcome my shyness and meet new people. Before crafting, I spent a lot of time hidden at home. As I grew in my crafting skills, I would venture out to crafting events, where I was the quiet kid in the back of the group. Eventually some of the ladies noticed me & we started chatting. They invited me to classes & crafting events, pulling me out of my shyness. Each one of these ladies has given me confidence, support & skills that I would have not received with out crafting. Love the soft colors and pearls on this card. Very pretty indeed. I have received several gifts from crafting. I have met some of my best friends in the isles at the craft stores where we end up talking and exchange ideas. The calls of appreciation for the beautiful card I sent. I think one of the biggest gifts of crafting is I am not afraid as I get older of having nothing to do. I am very content being in my craft room working on my cards. I hear so many times from my non crafting friends how bored they are because they have nothing to do. I’m happy if I can get them over to teach a craft. Crafts will be a part of my Golden Years for sure.

The greatest gift I’ve received through crafting are the friends I’ve made through blogs and websites and the inspiration I’ve received from them. Though I’ve never met these folks in person, I do feel like I know them.
Crafting has given me such peace of mind. I was a caregiver for both parents and my husband at the same time. When I go into my craft room, a calmness comes over me and the only thing on my mind is creating something beautiful for somebody.

The biggest gift I have received is the reward of giving a loved one a card or hand made box filled with goodies. My Mother loved receving cards that I made for her she would pour over the cards and note all the details and wonder how I found the patients for all the details. She was in a nursing home after suffering a stroke the nurse said my cards were a big help with her therapy so I made sure to send her several cards a week. That was the biggest gift I received from my crafting.

I think the greatest gift for me was one time in another card making community. I was having a hard time with my health issues getting worse and I mentioned that I was going to have to quit making the cards because I was out of money for anything at all which is where I am still sitting. The whole community came together and sent me pretty printed digital stamps, a lot of pre – stamped images and quotes along with various embellishments and papers, cardstock and ribbons just so I could keep entering the contests in hopes that I could win some of the prizes, too. That just really touched me in such a deep way that it touched my soul.– To know that I am truly cared for which I needed to really know as my biological family disowned me and want nothing more to do with me whatsoever.

First, I’m so happy you are going to continue this. I’d love to win more cards, but I also want others to get one too. Now my answer about the biggest gift received from crafting is it’s a wonderful hobby that has left me an outlet for creativity, and in actual gift received was the same year I had my diagnosis of breast cancer, I actually won a blog candy prize of PINK things for Breast Cancer Awareness and it was a fantastic large prize totally filled with tons of goodies! Some of which I still use including a Pink xyron sticker maker and many other things.

I think the best gift I’ve received in my crafting is knowing that I’ve made others happy by sending cards to the military (OWH) and having them sent home to family and friends. I can imagine the joy when someone went to the mailbox and found one of my cards. Also, receiving the gift of friendship in my new stamping club; such a good feeling!

Some of these friendships go back more than a decade and continue to grow, even over the internet. We’ve shared the joy of life and its sorrows. I am forever thankful that I have been forever blessed by these friendships.
The biggest gift I’ve received from crafting is becoming good enough at it to be able to teach those from my generation that did not have the opportunity to learn and also those from the younger generation so that it can keep going.
The biggest gift in crafting I have been given was when a stranger came up to me and commented “Oh you are Annamieke!” I asked why and she said she had been given one of my hand made cards. This was when I had faith that I could sell my card at markets.
Alas my faith was unfounded. And I couldn’t even cover my cost for the markets. It seems that people are not prepared to purchase a handmade card for a price cheaper then a commercially mass produced card. So I stopped having a stall at a market. So now I just make cards to keep occupied. I am sorry Becca for losing my faith in selling my craft.

Wow…beautiful card! My greatest gift I have received is seeing my students discover their hidden crafting talents and seeing the look on their faces when they realize that they CAN craft.
Lovely card! Crafting – to adapt the words of Picasso – washes off the dust of everyday life for me. It’s therapeutic to create something beautiful!

What a gorgeous card Becca! Love the soft colours. My greatest gift from card making is when I send someone a card and they tell me how much the love it. I have an elderly Aunt who has kept all of my cards in a pocket photo album. I am blessed!

I have to tell you, the biggest gift I have received from crafting is the appreciation I get from the people who enjoy my crafting. Some of my friends have saved every card I’ve ever sent them! I appreciate that so much. Somehow it makes me feel the crafting is not just for myself, but for others, to bring pleasure and enjoyment to them. But running a close second to that is some wonderful friendships I have developed over the years with like-minded crafters.

The answer to that question is very easy for me today because, guess what the postman brought me….???!!! I never dreamt that one day I would be holding my very own Becca creation, but today I was blessed with not just the most gorgeous card, but a HANDWRITTEN note too, complete with a stamp of authenticity!

One of my greatest gifts from crafting is when I make someone surprised and smile when they get their mail and they see the card. Love your card, the blue paper is so pretty. My greatest gift would have to be seeing people light up when they receive a handmade item and love it. It makes you feel like it was worth all the time or effort you put into it.
I love to make cards, my husband works 3rd shift and when he leaves I go to my card cave, but my main reason is I lost my son and its therapy, and it helps so much, it keeps me going. I love you’re cards and all the wonderful ideas.

Friendships. There are so many places I go that I don’t feel like I “fit in”. But when I get together with a group of crafty ladies, we usually end up gabbing and crafting into the wee hours. I so look forward to time spent with my crafting buddies!!
Oh Becca this card is just glorious – love blue and white and the pop of pink in perfect.
The biggest gift i have received from crafting has been my sanity – i.e. relief from stress and being able to release the gift of creativity that I have been blessed with.

Fabulous CARD!!! How do you create the die fold so meticulously? Beautiful!!! Greatest gift from crafting is “making someone’s day – tied with being blessed with the gift of art! It is so much fun making ‘something’ out of so little. Then, it’s so much fun putting a smile on some one’s face. It’s a tie!
One of the best gifts I have received in making cards, is when the recipient really loves the card and appreciates the time that went into making it.
I think one of the greatest gifts I’ve received via the paper craft journey is the people I’ve “met” along the way. I’ve been involved in several forums/message boards and have made some friendships that have lasted even after the forum/message board closed. Being able to share ideas, prayer requests, joys, sorrows, etc….all those things that are a part of friendship. And yes, I count them as friends even though we’ve never met IRL.

Hello Becca. I loved your enchanting card you chose for your Friday Day of Giving feature. As to the question: my biggest gift received from crafting is the courage to try new things. I’ve always been a by the book kind of crafter and have been encouraged in many classes, crops and play sessions to try new techniques and go outside the box instead of following the directions exactly. This was a little disconcerting at first, but it really has improved my creativity and is actually fun!
LOVE your card. It’s just so beautiful! I was very excited to see that you’ve used a stamp and dies from JustRite that I actually have! I love this set and am still sad they are out of business. To answer your question, one of the best gifts I have received from crafting is that I have been able to share it with our two daughters. At 25 and 28, they have started asking me to help them with their crafty projects, and they are really good at it! Got to keep the crafting going on you know :) The other is that it has given me something I absolutely love to do now that we are empty nesters. I love creating and sharing with all of the very special people in my life!

The best gift I received from crafting. The wonderful girls I have met thru stamping. I have made life long friends & the other thing is the thanks I receive from the missionaries most do not receive any mail at all not even a card for birthday or holidays. I have thought of stopping but they have beg me not to stop.

Love this card. I’m so disappointed that I am no longer able to purchase JustRite stamps and dies since they have taken down their web site. No one in my area carries their stamps/dies. Their stamps and dies are truly great. I so hope I am the lucky lady who wins this card.

The biggest gift I have received since I started crafting is the friendships I have made along the way. I had no idea the day I walked into my local Scrapbook Shop what an impact it would have on my life 5 years ago. I have met a group of ladies who encourage and support each other in so many ways it is difficult to find the right words to describe just how much of an impact they have had and continue to have in my life and they have made my life richer for the experience and that truly is the best gift of all.

That is such an easy comment to make, FRIENDSHIP & LOVE. I have gained so much from the people that I meet at card making and scrapbooking events, a true Sisterhood. I have met many gals in the cyber world and then have met and talked to them in person, including you my dear sweet friend at CHA in Chicago about 2 or 3 years ago and what a pleasure it was that day, I have grown so much love inside myself from all of these wonderful Sisters, it truly is the the GLUE that sticks us together. The sharing of their crafts and are so free in giving you info has to how something is make or where to find the info or who to follow. I am so glad to have gained this in my paper crafting. I know I will be needing this for the years to follow as my sweet hubby of nearly 48 years has early Altzheimer’s, he is 75 and still teaching at the University, but this will be his last semester as he know he can not lecture the spring semester, last year it was the most difficult time he has every had and that when we realized that we needed to find out what was up. So we are taking this one day and a time and planning for the future as too what will make it easier for him here at home. So I will be going on my cropping and retreats with my “sister” for as long as I can and then when I can’t I will always know that I can find the love and friendship right here in cyber world. Thank you all my dear “sisters” for you love of sharing your work!

This is an absolutely fabulous idea! I have tons of embossing folders and I never use them. I must admit, I gather craft supplies like a madwoman, but don’t have the time to create everything. Smiles. Well, I will try to use this idea! I believe the photo carousels are available at Aaron Brother’s Art and Framing stores.
