Each New Day is a Blessing

Hi there blog friends!! I have to admit that after I got done with this card I was pleased — it’s different!  It almost looks like filigree to me. I’m using some of this months new releases with JustRite Stamps and several Spellbinders templates to get the effect; I used JustRite Stampers Faith and Forever Friends sets.

Isn’t this layer-a-licious?  I used Spellbinders Grand Squares to cut out all the levels up to Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares.  I’m soooo in love with the perfect square and the embossed (beveled) edges – they finish a card so nicely.  After setting the Fleur de Lis Squares in place I cut four of the large symmetrical posts from Spellbinders Elegant Posts then cut arrow end off and trimmed the big end.  On top of that I stacked Spellbinders Classic Squares LG and Spellbinders Classic Squares SM and finished by cutting my sentiment out with Spellbinders Classic Circles LG.

Oh, I found Recollections Pearls in chocolate!!  I know you can color them but I love them when they are already the color I need.  I just didn’t have the heart to put ribbon on this card – it’s soooo busy and I didn’t want to disturb the symmetry.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: JustRite Stampers – Faith, Forever Friends
Paper: Die Cuts with a View – Mademoiselle, Coredinations – Java Bean
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Chestnut Roan
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares, Spellbinders Elegant Posts, Spellbinders Classic Squares SM, Spellbinders Classic Squares LG, Spellbinders Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders Grand Squares, Recollections Pearls

Well, it’s early and coffee is calling my name – off to have some and sort out the day.  Be good friends – ha-ha, you always are!!

    Hi Becca,

Praise the Lord for your beautiful work in His name. I love your cards, they are so beautiful and such a blessing. You are truly an inspiration to me!!! Could you please tell me how do you get the cardstock out of the Spellbinders Dies that are very thin. I usually end up tearing them or poking holes in them trying to dig them out. Thanks and God Bless always.ReplyCancel

Gosh, I love this card! You leave me wanting more Spellbinders dies everyday. (Yes, you can pass that little snippet on to them, so they know you’re doing your job showcasing their products, & doing it REALLY well.)ReplyCancel

  • SuAnneApril 22, 2011 - 8:35 am

How beautiful. I love all the different layers. This would be perfect for a masculine b-day card too! I have a question. I use a craft knife to apply my self-adhesive gems and pearls. Any suggestions on an easier method? I’ve tried the tweezers, but if I don’t cut the string of adhesive with a craft knife first, it often pulls the adhesive off the back. Any other tips or ideas?

Thank you so much for inspiring me daily.

    God Bless and Happy EasterReplyCancel

Earth Day today (22nd), Take your travel mug to Starbuck’s and get a free coffee or tea in it. If you don’t have a travel mug, they’ll sell you one for 20% off. Today only, The brown on this card made me think of coffee and tea, and the e-mail that I got from Starbuck’s advertizing it. I’m all about free…then we’ll have more money to spend on our arts & crafts!ReplyCancel

So intricate and delicate! If it was music, it would be Pachelbel’s Canon. If it was literature, Shakespeare comes to mind. In other words, your creation is
    a real classic.

Although I’m a huge fan of your ribbon treatments, I’m glad you decided to forgo ribbon on this card. As you said, it would take away from this handsome card.ReplyCancel

I always love your ribbon treatments but this card is absolutely stunning without it. I love the colors. My morning routine is to get my coffee then look to see what you have to share with us for the day. I enjoy reading all the comments as well. Your fans often give a tip or ask a question that gets me thinking.
Happy Earth Day! Someone mentioned free coffee at Starbucks today but did you know they give away their grounds free every day. Wonderful stuff for the garden, conditions the soil, acid loving plants thrive on it AND the caffeine deters slugs.

I really like this. I always seems to me that I am not happy with a sense of being finished until I add a bow. Sometimes that makes me want to do something without, just to prove I don’t NEED it. I love the way you did this one. No bow needed!ReplyCancel

  • ColoradoApril 22, 2011 - 10:44 am

Another FABULOUS card Becca. I look forward every day to seeing what you share with us and thrive on the inspiration I receive from your work.
Thank you again, love the color combination, and yes while you didn’t have one of your famous bows on this one, I’m happy with it as most of my cards get sent in the mail and with the cost of mail on the up and up…bows end up costing more…so enjoy this inspiration and the thought for me that it would be cheaper to put in the mail. Thanks Becca!~ReplyCancel
