Good morning sweet friends! Hope you all are safe and sound especially if you are affected by the east coast blizzard. Today I’m sharing a simple new card with a frilly layering that looks like lace – I’m pleased as punch so of course I’ll share the details. Inspiration started with the sentiment from Quietfire Design from their Home – Congratulations set. The sentiment fit perfectly inside Spellbinders Pierced Ovals.
I wanted something to give the card lots of charm so I cut two Spellbinders Oval Regalia (along with Spellbinders Classic Ovals SM to create a frame) then cut them in half. They are simply stacked one on top of the other and glued at one place in the center of each tier then the four glued together pieces were placed just above the bottom of the card. To me, it looks just like a lace border. I added an oval shaped frame cut using Spellbinders Pierced Ovals and finished off with flourishes in each corner using Spellbinders Corner Flourish on the top two corners. That’s it . . . really! A couple of snip snips and you’re in business.
Rubber Stamps: Quietfire Design – Home – Congratulations
Craft Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Natural White – 80lb smooth, Kraft Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Oval Regalia, Spellbinders Corner Flourish, Spellbinders Pierced Ovals, May Arts Silk Ribbon, Recollection Pearls
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a very creative weekend!
Oh Becca what a beautiful card and those dies sure look like lace. You sure know how to use your dies, when I try it takes me hours to get dies that work together. What a bow.

you know every time you do a cute card I “must” get the die. you may be creating hoarders all around the world. don’t worry, it’s not a bad thing.
I didn’t see a winner for those that commented on all 8 days of your end of year giveaway? did I miss it?
love visiting your blog and revisiting some of the earlier cards too. congrats on your new lines with spellbinders.
Lovely lace effect and beautiful colour scheme, Becca!
Hope you’re keeping warm.

So elegant, fabulous
Thank you for sharing this die technique, Becca. A good reminder that dies can be used in many different ways if we just let our minds think outside of the box.
This card is so beautiful! Elegant but not too fussy. Gently understated elegance, I think.
So beautiful. I love Spellbinders dies. I wish they had a tutorial for beginners using their dies. I have a set and I’m having a hard time figuring out to use them (all those layers). Beautiful job on this one!
What a cool idea! It is gorgeous!
Hi Becca. Love the colour and lace effect. How many loops on that amazing bow? I think I can see 6!!!! Dont think I can call washing, ironing and cooking creative. Not in they way you most probably mean. Heyho.
Wow! Love the neutral colours used! Wouldn’t have thought of it on my own.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations
Oh Becca, this is so beautiful. What elegant dies!

Love the lace look!!!! The pierced oval framing the Quiet Fire words communicate I are so artistic. A truly enticing combination!! I can’t wait to try it myself. Maybe I could have each lace layer in a different soft color depending on the occasion? So exciting! Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL card Becca…you always create such beauty!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Oh my this is so lovely! Love how you made the delicate looking lace bottom and added pearls, I am in awe of this card.
A beautiful lacy card today adorned with one of your gorgeous silk bows. I wish my “kraft” colored cards looked as lovely as your “kraft” colored cards. Thank you for sharing your creation today. It has snowed here in the mountains and I have so far moved, since Thursday: 21 1/2 inches of white fluffy snow from my front deck. It is still snowing with big winds blowing through making the temperature below zero. Brrrrrr.
So beautiful Becca, I love the neutral colors, the Regalia dies are stunning, they look beautiful with this design.
This card is so beautiful and elegant. Love it!
Love the simplicity yet beauty of the card and how you repurposed the Spellbinder to get multiple layers!
I too, love the neutral color palette, the multi-loop Becca bow and the petticoat on this card! Just lovely! ! Wish I could find a good source for the May Arts silk ribbon.

Hi Becca,
What a stunning card, love all the layers, they really do sell themselves as lace, beautiful. Loved yesterdays card, who would have thought that those beautiful delicate flowers would be from the pine cone die, amazing, such lovely creations.
I really must try this year to check your blog each day as I really look forward to your posts and I keep missing them lol! At the moment I am struggling on a very old laptop as my PC died today, thankfully I save everything to an external hard drive!
Until your next post
Love & hugs

I’ve just noticed your yesterday’s post, I missed it, but your card is stunning, as usual.
Congratulations to the lucky Winners, enjoy your goodies.
My ‘go to’ colour is normally shades of lilacs/purples.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Becca, Who’d of thought of cutting two perfect filigree oval die cuts in half and matching them with a simple, plain pierced oval? Well, Becca would and it looks great–not mismatched or off balance. Of, course, the bow goes a long way to make anything look great. Thanks for doing something different, and I love it. I really appreciate you using previously released dies. It makes me want to tap into my stash of untried dies and not hesitate to add new dies to my full collection. Thanks, again. Barbara
On Becca what a lovely card, love the lace effect and the sentiment is beautiful
Keep warm and safe

Hi Becca, love how you mix the dies, brings a whole new feeling in the creation, and good for us to think out of the box. well done and thanks so much keeping us inspired an learning,
PS:Becca, how did you make that gorgeous bow?. tutorial please. thank you.
Becca, you do such creative and beautiful things with your dies! I always wonder why I didn,’t think of that when I see your creations. Thanks!
Dearest Becca, I absolutely love you! Each time I open my email from you and read the words “sweet friends” my face smiles and my heart is warm. On a day like today in Somerset, New Jersey, I can use a little warmth. I adore the cocoa and white card, so dainty. I especially love the cocoa and caramel ribbon. I checked out May Art Ribbon Store, but couldn’t exactly put my cursor on the exact ribbon you tied onto this gorgeous card. Any chance you may have an ID number? I am in the throes of making Menus and Place Cards for my Grandson’s wedding reception and thought the same ribbon in blue would be perfect for the ensemble I chose. Thank you so very much, but I understand if you cannot read all of your email. Hugs, Sara
Beautiful card. So glad you are back – I missed you. I think we all did. But your creativity hasn’t skipped a beat. Looking forward to seeing you CHA projects. Did get to see your display table and I gotta tell you Becca, everything looked amazing.

Been missing for a bit, but as I was looking back to see what you’ve been up to I was pleased to see you hitting hard with your creativity. You’re a great teacher. I hope you know that. I have prized my dies and their pristine cuts the way they come out of my Grand Calibur trying the use them in innovative ways as you do. Then you change the playing field and start cutting up the die cuts. W-H-A-T!!!!! Now I’ve got to toughen up and envision how to C-U-T up my beauties into new design pieces. Thanks for the push, because this card is gorgeous! Following your lead. (:~0)
